Another Birthday and Changes.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

With only One thing planned for our day I wasn’t in a hurry to start my day when I first looked at the Clock instead I blinked. Thirty Minutes extra suddenly appeared on the Clock and Kathy was already on her Computer in the Livingroom.

We had been warned to arrive with an Appetite so we simply had a Double Chocolate Muffin with a Coffee/Tea for breakfast. After eating we spent the time to consume our morning drinks while reading on the Computers. That meant I reviewed a number of Jobs that were too far away or I had already applied for them. I also managed to read quite a number of Blogs we follow before heading out.

Even though earlier this week the forecast for today had been for Rain and we’d had showers overnight things seemed to be clearing up.

With not only the Parking Lot Construction but the Road Repairs going on across the city we were out the door around 11:00 this morning. Surprisingly traffic flowed smoothly without any delays that would happen when mixing Dump Trucks in with the weekly routine of people going to work.

We managed to arrive at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s home in Amherstburg just before noon. This was not a typical meal but a celebration of both Kathy’s and my Birthdays combined. Fooled you yesterday because normally we celebrate our special days on the day between on the 30th of April.

I have jokingly said before about a See Food Diet but this was beyond that. As we started visiting Melissa served Bacon Wrapped Cream Cheese filled Jalapeno Peppers along with Stuffed Mushroom Caps that Kevin helped make while she was working.

After a short visit from Cameron and Matthew we were shown to the counter that was lined with a small feast. There was Pulled Pork, Hamburgers, Potato Salad, Spiral Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans along with all the Condiments. After having eaten a few too many Mushrooms and Peppers (They were so good) we still had to appreciate all the effort put into this small feast and sample everything. (Like the previous it was all good.) We were in recovery mode when Melissa brought out plates with a slice of Boston Cream Cake and Tuxedo Cake with Frozen Yogurt to top off the celebration. The two Cakes were served because a decision on which one we’d like could not be reached so the problem was resolved. Everything tasted so delicious.

We always enjoy our visits and even though there is an age difference we all think alike solving most of the World’s Problems. When it was time for us to say our good byes we were surprised to see clear skies and pleasant temperatures outside.

Instead of rushing home we swung through the old neighbourhood in LaSalle amazed at all the changes being made. When it came to the Town Center the changes were overwhelming. It is practically unrecognizable.

We stopped at the Pioneer gas station to top off the car and were shocked to see the prices. Regular gas was $1.846/Litre ($6.987/US Gallon) and Diesel was $2.476/Litre ($9.372/US Gallon). That difference only appears as Sixty-Three Cents/Litre but that adds up to $2.384/US Gallon which is what I recall paying for a Gallon of Diesel the last time we were in Quartzsite.

Someone took the spot we used last night but we found another.

The 6 o’clock Local News was again delayed by the Mexican PGA Tournament by Twenty Minutes. More was reported on the upcoming Provincial Election without mentioning anything about the Coronavirus for the Windsor/Essex Region.

The Weather Network showed we reached a high of 68 F (20 C) this afternoon with West Winds.

We weren’t really hungry but our stomachs were a little cranky so we each had a Cup-o-Soup for supper which quelled two urges at once.

We’ve got more running to do tomorrow.
