Keeping Things Running.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

There was more of that White Stuff to clean off the Truck this morning but I was glad it basically dusted off because it was too cold to spend much time outside. When I walked on the Snow getting into the Plant I was surprised to hear it crunch below my steps.

Since purchasing my new Coveralls I’ve been limiting wearing them to Three Days so the dirt doesn't get too inbedded in the material. I’d just finished putting my clean Coveralls on when Avry came into the Compound saying there was a problem on the Paint Seal Blower. Climbing up to check the problem it was easy to see that the V-Belt had blown apart. I’d brought the Tools that should have gotten me through most jobs only to find that someone had used Cap Bolts with Allen Heads instead of a basic Hex-Head Bolt. It took extra time but since that is the Third Stage of the Line the Five Minutes later that it took did not matter. When I got back to the Compound I looked down to see my clean Coveralls were dirtier then the ones that I was about to bring home.

That was when Paul came along to tell me we had lost a Window Pane just before the end of the shift last evening. With the Cold Air streaming in guess who had to dress for the great outdoors climb through the Roof Hatch and repair the problem. Ten Minutes on a roof at those temperatures is not something you want to do every day.

I never saw Paul the rest of the day so I worked on all the different Carriers. When I spoke with Kathy at lunch she was having issues with the Television but would wait for me to deal with it when I got home. I didn’t see Kharen anywhere today.

When it came time to head for home I had to chop through thick Icicles that had formed on my Windshield. The Sun melted the little bit of Snow on the roof of the Truck that I missed and when it dripped down the Windshield it froze solid.

The first thing I did after getting home was to reset the Television using the Remotes. After I cleaned and chopped a fresh Pineapple for us to eat this week Kathy made a Southwestern Salad to go with Personal Sized Chicken and Broccoli Pies for supper along with a Slice of the Banana/Pecan Cake she baked the other day for dessert.

The 6 o’clock Local News reported another Coronavirus Death for the Windsor/Essex Region along with 202 New Cases.

The Weather Network showed that we only reached a high temperature of 16 F (-9C) this afternoon but we did reach the overnight low temperature that felt like -11 F (-25 C). We could see a couple of days next week above the Freezing Mark.

  1. you should carry some cardboard to put on your windshield so you dont have to scrap so much ice off it at night. I used to do that in colorado when we lived there. better yet, go to Arizona again in the winter and not have to scrap ice at all, haha
