Jobs, Criticisms and Chores.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even though it was the coldest day we’ve had so far this Winter the first job that Ivan and I tackled this morning was the Loading Dock. There was no way to access the Mechanism from inside the warmth of the building so we dressed as warm as possible and worked at it from outside. We got lucky by freeing up the Mechanism that seemed to be jammed. The Loading Dock is now usable but I’ll rebuild one of the units in the Maintenance Compound so we can switch the unit before it jams again.

Next we took care of cleaning the Compressor cooling system just as been assigned. As we were heading back to the Compound to get different Tools for the next job we spoke to Paul. He asked about the Electrical Box Guard so I showed him. He thought it was perfect just the way it was.

Before we made it to the Mezzanine Kharen showed up with a Folding Bed Frame that he asked for me to fix a few broken tacks. It was so out of character that I said I would do it at the end of the shift.

Ivan and I started cleaning the Fan Covers on the Electric Motors nearly a month ago. After a Motor melted off the Fan under its cover we found that most had was so much debris built up inside it was a wonder more were not loosing bearings from the heat. The ones we tackled today were the Exhaust Blowers for both the Heating Chambers. We had barely gotten the Cover off the first one when Kharen started criticizing us for taking too long to do the job. That shocked Ivan because he had never been pushed like that by Kharen which I have since my second day.

Even though we had planned on doing Two more motors today when we finished those first Two we packed up and headed for home. If he ever expects to get that Bed Frame tacked by me it will never happen.

Kathy made Sweet and Sour Chicken on Vegetable Rice for supper along with a Chocolate Pudding Cup for dessert.

The 6 o’clock Local News reported Coronavirus Cases continues to skyrocket for the Windsor/Essex Region but didn’t give any numbers.

When the News was over I started sorting the Laundry before heading down to the Laundry Room. There was a Washer and Dryer marked “Out of Order” so after getting the others filled I checked out the Other Laundry Room. Nobody was there so I took advantage of the available machines. Once everything was in the Dryers I went back to the Apartment to have my shower. I was back before the Dryers were finished as a fact I had to run Two of them through a second cycle to get everything dry. It was past 11:00 by the time I got back to the Apartment with all our folded clothes.

  1. When someone constantly criticizes someone else it is because the person doing the criticizing feels inferior.

  2. Phyllis is right; he's probably confronting reality, to his detriment. Nice that you have Ivan as a good worker alongside.
