Some Adjustments Required But It Worked.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Surprisingly there was no breeze this morning so it was comfortable getting to the Truck. Even though this was the first day back to work for most there was little traffic on the roads. The entire parking lot at the Plant had a white cover to it that crunched when you walked on it.

The Paint-Line had no problem with the drive but there were a number of Nozzles that needed to be adjusted. A couple were actually spraying directly out the entrance. Each time that the Workers who load the Line went on break we would critique the Nozzles even more. By the end of the day they were perfect and Paul was happy.

Of course Kharen complained that we didn’t fix it right. He wasn’t there all of last week and we were tired from working those long hours.

Paul suggested he might hire out the remainder of the job because we had to work so many hours on it. He was a little shocked when he was told that since there was no real Crew except Ivan and I on the job that would be a great idea. It won’t bother us a bit to spend time with our families.

I repaired a number of Carriers today along with a few Maintenance Items such as Filters and fixing Pipes.

After parking the Truck at our building I took the time to install the Winter Bra. Diesel Engines take more time to warm up then a Gas Engine so this way I might start feeling some heat before I get to the Plant.

Even doing that it surprised Kathy when I walked in the Apartment before 4:00.

Around 5:00 we had Christmas Dinner Leftovers for supper. They were still as fresh as they were a week ago. Normally we don’t let them set that long but with the Hours I was working last week Kathy just hoped they would last.

At 5:30 I headed down to the Laundry Room with Four Pair of Coveralls. Two Pair made a load and they were dirty enough from last week’s job that they would get Pretreated Twice along with the Initial Washes. Most of the Stains came out but Kathy suggested I order more Coveralls and keep these for the Dirty Jobs. At this place they are all dirty.

The 6 o’clock Local News reported New Coronavirus Cases for the Province of Ontario but not for the Windsor/Essex Region. With the skyrocketing numbers brought on by the Omicron Variant the Province is enacting even more restrictions of which many of the small businesses that just survived the last Shut Down say they might not make it this time.

The Weather Network shows that we’ll bounce back slightly to a more seasonal temperature tomorrow.

Kathy will be running errands for me tomorrow. I’ll be hitting the shower as soon as I get home because it will be a busy night.

  1. Um. Doesn't sound like a very long talk with Paul, but you did get a word in. I'll hold my tongue, or I guess, fingers, as I'm typing. Just want you to survive and stay well and not run yourself into the ground.
    Nice supper!
