As mentioned in yesterday’s Blog while moving my Toolbox around in the back of the Truck I managed to somehow pull my back. It felt like someone drove a spike into my spine. The only cure for that was an Extra Strength Tylenol before going to bed. It wasn’t until I got to work this morning that I realized I’d forgotten to take another this morning and one of the things I had cleared out of my locker was the Tylenol.
To say that I was moving slower then normal would be an understatement. I started my Morning Inspection and noted that Paul was watching my actions. The fact that I would occasionally support my back with my hand might have added a visual seriousness to the way I felt. I noted that it was quite cold on the Mezzanine but unless I would be given time there wasn’t much I could do about that.
Back
at the Maintenance
Compound
I was busy straightening Carriers
when Paul came by asking me to go back upstairs and close off the
drafts as best as I could. The big problem is that the Squirrels
and Birds
had
found small openings in the Wooden
Window Covers
and started stealing the Insulation
for their own Nests.
(They’re
no Fools.)
I managed to move some of what
was left
around finally shutting down most of the Drafts.
Paul never said a word about working on the Delivery Van today. The fact that it started snowing around 7:00 and was still coming down after I got home might have had something to do with it.
The only job Kharen gave me today was to repair some Anode Tubes for the Paint Tank and he was polite about it. (Tomorrow is Tuesday.)
It felt good talking with Kathy at lunch. Since she does not like to drive when it snows so she stayed home and had been busy baking a Banana/Pecan Cake.
Around 2:30 the Clerk from Shipping and Receiving telling me the Number 2 Loading Dock would not close to the Store position. Getting dressed for the weather I was soon outside with the Pry Bar. From the way it had been described to me it should have worked. I went back inside raised the Door by a Foot then pulled the chain to the Mechanical Box that controls the Dock. It went up the way it was supposed to. Then pulling the second chain it went into the Store position without any problem.
It took Fifteen Minutes to clean the Truck before I could go home. I was surprised when the Truck actually slid a few times. Thankfully I was barely moving.
For supper we had Personal Sized Meat Tourtieres along with a Southwest Salad topped off with Carbonated Juice and finished off with a slice of Banana/Pecan Cake for dessert. It all tasted wonderful.
The 6 o’clock Local News reported 500 Active Coronavirus Cases for the Windsor/Essex Region.
The Weather Network showed that we reached a high temperature of 23 F (-5 C) this afternoon but with the Windchill only felt like 14 F (-10 C). It will get much colder overnight.
One of the Comments the other day said there are Two Sides to every story and they are right. In reference to why Kharen learned to be a Bully can be easily answered. He only stands about Five Foot Four Inches Tall and was probably picked on because of his size. In order to make that stop he started Bullying whoever he could and has carried it into his adult life. I treat everyone the way I want to be treated with Respect. He sees that as a sign of weakness so he uses that against anyone with those mannerisms.

Hope your back heals quickly. I use Tylenol twice a day for arthritis and it helps keep me moving. Sounds like winter there for sure.
ReplyDeleteYou have the patience of job -- pardon the pun
ReplyDeleteYou know what your back needs is so warm Arizona sunshine 🌞🌞. I bet if you went to the doctor that's what he would say.
ReplyDeleteThat little boy is not a man he's a little boy and needs to be taken out back and talked to.
Hope your back gets better soon. Its no fun when that happens and we can feel your pain. As to the situation at work, a good talk with the boss about your supervisor and you and your intention not to put up with it much longer would perhaps resolve the issue. I am sure he appreciates your work and talent and won't be able to replace you so easily. The same goes for your chance to find another suitable job. Just my penny's worth of thought for consideration.
