This morning when I looked at the Clock I decided to get up early. Surely it would not have been a problem to fall back to sleep but I again thought of getting used to my weekday wake up time. It was 7:20 nearly Two Hours past my normal wake up but by rising then would help me to fall asleep earlier this evening.
Looking out the Balcony
Door the landscape was White and there was no sign of any
Blue Sky anywhere on the horizon. I had
adjusted my Resume and attempted to apply on a couple of jobs
before Kathy woke up after 8:00. We kept breakfast lite by each
having a Buttered English Muffin to support our energy levels.
Both our Snow covered Car and Truck. |
Once we had finished our Coffee/Tea at the Computers I set up the Epson Salts Foot Bath for the both of us to use. There is something in the Salts that makes it feel like we are getting a foot massage while simply sitting there and continues long after we’ve dried our feet.
Besides reading Blogs and making more attempts to upload the Edited Resume I also managed to send another message off to our Good Friends Wayne in Sue. They have upgraded both their Truck and Trailer just recently and are watching as the throngs of people descend on Quartzsite for the opening day of the Big Tent. They also remarked how their Son and Two Grandsons had contracted the Coronavirus. The Son and Oldest Grandson have been Vaccinated but the youngest is only Three Years Old and really sick. We’ll keep them all in our prayers.
Nice to see shadows caused by the Sun. |
Kathy wasn’t feeling well by noon so we didn’t have lunch until 1:00 and that was also the time that the Sun broke through the Clouds to brighten our day. We had Split Pea with Ham Soup for lunch along with a Yogurt Cup for dessert.
While I went outside to clean off the Truck and Car she had a Snap which helped to make her feel better. Besides brushing off the vehicles I also took some of my Tools I’ve been bring home out of my Toolboxes. By doing so I won’t forget anything if I’m forced to make a quick Exit. While moving the Larger Toolbox I seem to have moved the wrong way and now have a stabbing pain in my spine. An Extra Strength Tylenol seems to be taking the pain away.
Back inside I took out the Recycle and finding Kathy getting ready to go shopping. She did wait for me by the rear door while I brought the Car around. This New Management Company hadn’t gotten their acts together when it comes to our Snow Removal. Just as we were pulling out of the parking lot a Plowing Service was just pulling in.
Having checked our Food Stocks this morning the only place we needed to go was the Zehr’s grocery store for Meats, Dairy and Frozen Foods. Walking on the hard floor was bothering my back so we didn’t stay longer then we needed.
We went to Arby’s Drive-Thru and ordered our supper. It has been some time since we have ordered those meals and it was a shock at how much their prices have gone up.
Back at our building I dropped Kathy at the Front Door where she walked through and waited for me at the Back Door. Since we didn’t buy that many groceries after parking the Car I carried those purchases in. When Kathy saw me approaching she opened the Door.
After we managed to get everything put away we happened to lookout to the parking lot and noticed that the Plowing Service had done a better job of cleaning then the former Handyman used to do.
I was able to talk with my Aunt Anna and was told how strict the rules were at the Nursing Home in order to keep everyone safe.
The 6 o’clock Local News did not report any New Coronavirus Cases for the Province of Ontario or the Windsor/Essex Region.
The Weather Network showed that we reached a high temperature of 21 F (-4 C) this afternoon but with the Windchill only felt like 9 F (-13 C). It will get really cold tonight.
I’ll head in to work tomorrow but if there is any kind of problem I will simply quit. I’ll also see if there is anything I can do about getting the Laws changed when it comes to putting up with Bullies in the Workplace.

It’s about time.
Krackers
You know you’re RV trash when entering a new city, you have to move your home every 72 hours to avoid being rousted by the police.
With all the effort you put into making this business operate efficiently, you should have been given more respectful treatment. If/when you have to walk out, they will have to examine their parts in the whole debacle.
ReplyDeleteI just keep thinking, what if they found out you had a blog and read it. That all your readers have read about the company and all the goings on. It has made for some interesting reading and kinda like a soap opera. Bad for you but you have really handled the situation with great composure and respect for your job with a great work ethic that is hard to find these days. Good luck, Rick. Maybe you should tell them to read your blog when you quit to find out why. It'll give the boss something to read at night.
ReplyDeleteWhat Barb said. And furthermore, you have kept that place functioning the entire time you have been there and with little to no appreciation or recognition. That is the most toxic workplace I have ever heard about. Took a lot to remain there as long as you did. Whatever you choose I wish you the best.
ReplyDeleteI’ve enjoyed reading your blog for several years. Sorry you are experiencing workplace bullying. In the US there is no federal or state law which establishes a cause of action that an injured party can rely on to seek damages. Not sure about Canada, but internationally there are a number of countries which have had anti workplace bullying laws in place for over 20 years.
ReplyDeleteBelow is a link to a paper I wrote several years ago which you may find of interest. Also, there’s a link to the Workplace Bullying Institute which has been actively involved with seeking the passage of anti workplace bullying legislation. In the US to say it’s an uphill battle to get legislation passed is an understatement.
Wishing you a brighter and less stressful workplace experience in the days to come.
Rick

OK then. I'll be hoping for ....what exactly I'm not sure, on Monday. Just that you can be in a better place at work (which I doubt) or that you're free as a bird.
