Shorty Explained and I Think They’re Learning.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

A big apology goes out to our readers over yesterday’s short blog. After having a restless sleep on Monday night by the time we got back home I struggled to add to what I already had.

Knowing Kathy had an Appointment in the morning I had to move some things to my side of the bed before leaving.

At work Tuesday morning seem different in the fact that after I did my walk around adding a couple more repair concerns to my list there were only Seven different Carriers that needed repairs. By 8:30 I had hauled them all back to the Line but on the last trip I noted Kharin the Supervisor talking to the Lead Lineman and pointing to the number of Carriers I was placing near the Washer.

Soon after the Owner Paul came in to the Compound and started complaining about the piles of components that were piled on a couple of benches. Then he says to me “Why haven’t you straightened this up?” My response was simple “Because you guys are keeping me so busy I haven’t got time.” I simply went back to working on the Carriers that I’m modifying.

Later in the afternoon as I returned from getting a fresh Oxygen Cylinder Kharin asked how many Modified Carriers we had. When I told him the old Carriers he was seeing would make his final count he just stared and walked away.

Paul brought in more Air Tools that I simply showed him where to put them and continued working. The V-Belts that I reported were about to fail last week did and Kharin had the job of replacing them. They only had One in stock and had scramble to find Two more.

I called to tell Kathy I was on my way home and She said Mary from Healthy Heals was just leaving. When I got to the Apartment she explained that Mary had a fall and twisted her leg so she had a Doctor’s Appointment then for X-rays all before coming to see Kathy.

We had a simple supper of Ham and Eggs along with Toast. After watching the Local News we headed out on some errands.

Remember I dyed my Coveralls over the weekend. The safest place for me to do it was in Clear Plastic Storage Bins that I set in the Bathtub with three inches of Water surrounding it. That way if there was any dripping it would not stain the Tub. When the process was finished I used an empty Water Jug and poured it down the Stainless Kitchen Sink Drain.

Trailer is looking lonely there.
Vans parked next to it.

Those Clear Bins were what I had moved to my side of the Bed and could now be returned to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit at Guardian Storage. We checked our Mail as well as the Trailer while there.

Next we headed to Green Shield where we dropped off the Claim Form for Healthy Heals. We’ll have our Refund next week.

A quick stop at Dollarama before going to Zehr’s grocery store. Wish all our grocery bills were that low.

It was well past 9:40 by the time we got home and I needed a shower. By the time I was done I was done and had a hard time to fill in what I did for the Blog but couldn’t leave you hanging.

Today Wednesday after a good night’s sleep I started my walk around and as usual I always nod a greeting to everyone I walk by. This morning everyone waved to me before I even nodded. The Owner Paul noted that.

After a couple more Carriers that needed repair I continued working on the Modifications. When Kharin stopped by around noon he asked where that pile of Carriers I was modifying had gone I simply showed him a much smaller pile. I even asked him about a Tip Cleaner so I could make the Torch work better. Then he said after these Carriers are finished they want to give me a couple of days to organize the Compound better. (I think my hearing was playing tricks on me.)

Around 2:30 Paul comes in looking for a Pry-Bar. Then he says someone tried breaking in last night and we had to fix it. I passed that spot on my morning walk around on the Mezzanine and didn’t see that. (Probably someone trying to break out.) What he suggested to fix it would not work but I said I’d be back. When I returned with a Hammer and Pliers I had it fixed in Two Minutes. He could not believe his eyes.

For supper we modified a Caesars Salad by adding chopped Ham. We topped it off with Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) to go with dessert of Maple Cookies and Jam topped Vanilla Pudding Cups. We finished our Coffee/Tea while watching the News.

On the 6 o’clock Local News they reported that the Windsor/Essex Region had 9 New Coronavirus Cases but didn’t give any other details.

Yesterday's picture same as today.

The Humidex outside only felt like 75 F (24 C) today.

That shower felt wonderful. Even though I’m starting to feel tired I should make it to 10:00 tonight.

  1. As far as I am concerned having income is more important than writing the blog. I can always check back the next day for the great updates you provide.

  2. I agree with Barney, do what you must - we'll still be here. Glad to see the attitude at work is changing for the better. Numbers are still dropping, woohoo.

  3. Your sleep and rest are much more important than writing a blog. As Gone Rogue mentioned...we will still be here.

Glad things are getting better at work.

  4. Yup, I will certainly keep checking on you guys.
So take a day off when you need to. Or two...or three. Still it does have value as a record of what's happening, especially with that unusual work place. Or maybe it's usual. Sigh.

  5. Keeping the faith that one of the applications you have submitted will come through for you - This place is a dysfunctional clown act. They must have a geographical monopoly on what they produce or their employees are producing Tier One work.
