It actually felt good this morning to look at the Clock and being able to fall back to sleep without worrying about being on time. When my Back finally started acting up at 7:30 I knew that it was time to get up.
I’d barely gotten the Computers turned on and things ready for breakfast when Kathy came out to join me. We would only have enough time to enjoy our morning Coffee/Tea, check our E-Mails along with The Weather Network, apply for a Job and get ready to head out the door by 10:00. We had a few things to load in the Car that we had been gathering.
Our first stop was Guardian Storage to check for Mail then to pick up our Camping Chairs. With the change in this morning’s forecast there was a good chance we would not be using them but if it improved we would regret not having them.
Our next stop was Pharma Care in Amherstburg to pick up our Prescription Medications. It’s been since the middle of March since we were last there. I’d barely gotten our Meds when there was suddenly a line of people behind me waiting to come in the store.
With a little more time on our hands than I expected I suggested we stop at the local Dollarama. The last few months we have not been able to get our Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) in the Windsor area stores so I just thought we’d give this one a try. Walking the aisles was helping us both as a form of exercise. Then suddenly there were Three Bottles of the Juice that came home with us.
It was still too early for our scheduled time so we swung around to Wendy’s Drive-Thru and ordered Two Chicken Wraps, Two Small Chocolate Frosties and Two Seniors Soft Drinks for our early lunch.
As we were eating I related an incident that happened at work yesterday that had me looking out for myself and Kathy agreed. While repairing the back wall where someone had attempted to break-in I managed cut my Finger open on a piece of old factory Glass that was probably older then myself. Trying to suppress the Bleeding I asked the Owner for a Band Aid. He was looking through a Kit that was filled with empty Band Aid Wrappers. By luck there was a single Band Aid still in the corner but nothing else. We swung by Shoppers Drug Mart to purchase a few things I’ll keep in my personal bag just in case.
It was 12:20 when we arrived for our visit with our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melisa’s for a visit. Our grandson Cameron is Graduating High School this year and since tomorrow is Fathers Day Melisa and Kevin had put together a small unexpected spread of Vegetables with Dip, Chips with Salsa, Wrap Pizzas, Jalapeno Poppers and Strawberry Strudel. (We should have skipped lunch). With my addiction to See Food there were a number of empty dishes when we left. Our grandson Matthew is doing well at his first Job not far from home.
It was close to 3:00 when we
said our Good Byes and headed off. This time our destination
was to our daughter-in-law Jen’s in Essex.
Taking all the back roads we became familiar with when we were
Fulltiming and living at Wildwood
Golf and RV Park we were there by 3:20. There was no
vehicle in the driveway and when I knocked on the door nobody
answered. It' also Haigan's Birthday this coming week.
Thinking we had possibly missed the Graduation Ceremony at the school we parked along the curb and waited. Then Kathy suggested we call Jen. Due to the High Humidity Jen had turned of the AC and did not hear my knocking. We barely started visiting when others began arriving.
We were all there to help Haigan celebrate his Graduation from Elementary School. Unfortunately due to all the Lock-Downs this was not a typical year for many schools.
We thought that we would be safe with more Vegetable and Fruit Snacks that Jen already had set out on a side able to finish our day but then there was a knock on the door. Jen had ordered Penne with Meat Sauce, Roast Chicken and Macaroni with Cheese from the local Italian Restaurant. The only problem was in ordering they allowed for all the Small Children and Seniors to eat as much as young to middle age Adults. She’ll have plenty to eat for the next week.
Before we left I gave our granddaughter Emma all the empty Bottles we collect from our Fake Wine. She and an uncle are into making their own Wine and after sterilizing our Bottles it saves them the cost and keeps the Bottles out of the Landfills.
We got back to the Apartment just before 9:00. Checking my E-Mail I applied for another job. We missed the 6 o’clock Local News and were too tired to watch the 11 o’clock Local News.
Kathy and I would like to wish all our Male Readers and Followers a Happy Fathers Day.
