Kathy’s Phone Wakes Her, Getting Some Good Advice, Murphy Left and Grilling A Great Supper.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

Even though I kept myself toasty warm under the Blankets last night it just seemed like a voice was telling me it was time to wake up at 8:00 this morning. As soon as I was standing next to the bed I made certain that Kathy was still asleep and she wasn’t the one telling me it was time to start my day. Opening the Window Shades was a delight knowing that the bright Sunshine was already busy charging our Batteries.

I managed to get things ready for breakfast before starting my morning reading on the Computer. The Weather Network was forecasting perfectly warm sunny weather for the next week. This was the kind of Temperatures that we came to the southwest to enjoy.

Kathy was up by 8:30 when she heard her Cell Phone going off. Remember earlier this week she couldn’t hear it ringing, well after changing it to the Harmonica Tone it woke her from a sound sleep in the Bedroom from the Kitchen. We are confident that she’ll hear it inside her purse.

My cousin was calling from back in Michigan having totally forgotten about the Two-Hour Time Difference. We spoke for a few minutes while Kathy calmed herself down from her early start. After I make a few Phone Calls tomorrow I’ll have the information that is needed.

When we were attending Blogger-Fest at the Ramada (Pavilion) yesterday there was still quite a breeze and when Kathy got up this morning it was like the Congestion was back. With a Weaken Immune System Kathy is very susceptible to those kinds of things so having a couple of Hot Drinks along with a Mucinex after breakfast helped a bit.

Seeing most of our neighbours walking around all bundled up we simply worked on our indoor chores before lunch and simply served a bowl of Soup and a Yogurt cup for the meal.

After we’d eaten I started with the small chores first checking our Propane Tanks. By only cycling the Furnace has helped to keep our usage down so there were no tanks to change out.

Last week I had purchased a Tooled Belt but the Vendor didn’t have it in my size so I needed to purchase a Hole Punch the other day from a Tool Vendor to add a couple of holes. I was just finishing adjusting the Belt outside when I saw a Black Dually pulling up.

Setting Sun reflecting off the mountains in the east.
It was Bill from On our Way stopping over. I had asked for some advice yesterday about not getting Sound on our Television and about running the Propane Line for our Blue Flame Heater. It would be perfect for the cold nights that we have been getting lately. He crawled under the trailer just to see what I was telling him first hand before we went inside. He agreed with the location we were installing it but suggested having Two People to attempt to feed the Line. He gave us other ideas to work with and just suggested going back through the Menu on the Television to get the sound working.

Once Bill left and I closed up the Basement Kathy suggested I try to work on the Television like Bill suggested. Our Television had worked perfectly when we were hooked up to Cable back in McGregor and a couple of parks on our way to Arizona. When we erected the Over-the-air Antenna we had a crystal-clear picture but no audio. I tried all kinds of adjustments to the Menu but they didn’t work. Today, I reconnected the Coaxial Cable from the Antenna, turned on the Television and the audio was working just fine. Murphy must have been looking over my shoulder before and simply left town today. We watched the Evening News for the first time since we’ve been here in December.
Acorn Squash and Half the Steak.
With very little breeze we prepped an Acorn Squash and set it to cook on our Weber Q on low and slow just like George from Our Awesome Travels is always advising. We let it cook for a Half Hour before adding a Steak for us to share. While that was all cooking Kathy served a Cottage Cheese Salad with Clementine Oranges as a dessert. We had that eaten before I flipped the Steak the first time. It all came out perfect and we didn’t heat up the inside of the trailer. I did interrupt my meal to get a couple of quick Sunset Pictures.
The Sun had already dipped behind the mountain.
After a few Phone Calls in the morning we might be off running some errands. We are already seeing lots of RVs leaving and there should be more going soon because the Big Tent closed today. We are also hoping to start doing some Hiking and Biking this week. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I hope Kathy gets to feeling better. The flu going around has turned into pneumonia for several people. Might be worth a doctor's check just to be sure she's okay.

  2. You'll love the blue flame when you get it connected. You could try running a line out the window to your propane until you get it hooked up permanently.

  3. Great that the sound came through Rick, one problem solved, now onto the next.

  4. Just thought I would mention this... when our Olympian Catalytic heater went on the fritz, we grabbed a Pro Com blue flame heater to run for a while until we could get the Olympian repaired. At that time, we noticed a blue film on all our windows and shiny surfaces during those few months. To top it off, since we already owned the Pro Com, we had installed in our house in Oconto to supplement the heat during the last year we owned that house. There was a decidedly blue film on all the windows and patio doors that had never been there before in all 14 years owning the house before that last year. Just thought I would mention that as a consideration before you install it?
