Driver With No Common Sense, Getting Chores Done and Enjoying The Day Out.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

Having added a couple of hours to my day yesterday I knew there would be some kind of payback and it happened this morning. We had planned on getting an early start this morning instead we didn’t wake up until nearly 9:00 MST. That Fifteen Minute Snap I had yesterday didn’t help at all and really set us behind this morning.

With the 41 F (5 C) outside temperatures there was no doubt that we cycled the Furnace in order to get the chill out of the air this morning. We would welcome that Second Cup of Coffee/Tea while catching up on our morning reading on the Computers.

With the recent short-lived Government Shutdown, we are certain some would try to take advantage to stay for free on LTVA land. Anyone that has ever been to the LTVAs around Quartzsite would probably remember seeing a 15 MPH speed limit sign along the paved roads but they should also post signs indicating Common Sense as Your Speed on the other paths to keep the dust down. Around 10:00 as I was about to start my chores I looked out the window in a southerly direction to see a huge cloud of dust heading our way. It was a black Pickup pulling a Travel Trailer on the gravel path doing close to 30 MPH. Minutes later the Ranger’s pickup slowly cruised by but we would still taste the dust in the air for the next couple of hours.

By noon we had all our inside chores completed, I’d sorted the Laundry and Kathy had already made lunch. The Soup she made finished taking the chill out of our bodies.

By 12:30 we were heading out of La Posa South headed into Quartzsite. I didn’t even attempt to take Tyson Wells Road past the Vendor’s Area because traffic on that road were sticking into the intersection at Arizona 95. Instead we drove up to Main Street and even with the long line of vehicles turning we were on I-10 within Five Minutes.
California Welcomes You.
After having experienced busy days at both the different Laundromats in Quartzsite we were warned about trying to use them when the Big Tent was open. Along with other errands we planned to do our washing while in Blythe.
The Highway is dedicated as a Pearl Harbor Memorial.
Kathy actually went to Pearl Harbor.
With the Highway Construction now completed we were in Blythe in Twenty Minutes. Our first stop was the Ace Hardware where I needed to find new “O” Rings for our Drinking Water Jugs. I had hoped to find slightly thicker ones then we presently had but ended up walking out with the same size.
Inside the Blythe Laundromat.

We finally arrived at the Laundromat where I was quite surprised to find lots of Washers and Dryers available. In no time everything was being washed and I had already checked out the Dryers. Kathy was starting to feel tired just sitting there so I suggested she walk over to Dollar Tree across the street. She walked the entire store as we normally did but walked out Empty-Handed. She arrived safely back at the Laundromat minutes before the Dryers were scheduled to stop. It was past 4:00 MST by the time we had loaded all the Folded Clothes back in the Truck.
Pot-Roast.

With more errands to do we stopped at Denny’s to have supper before continuing. Kathy had a hard time determining what she wanted. Our waitress Melissa had to come back a few times before she was ready to order. Kathy had their Pot Roast while I had the Country Fried Steak. Both meals were Tasty and Filling but we were comfortable when we left.

Since we came down with “The Crud” a couple weeks ago Kathy hasn’t totally cleared up and has been having to continue taking the Generic Mucinex once in a while to clear the Sinus Congestion. Since we are nearly out we found the Blythe Pharmacy and looked to see what they have. They had the actual Mucinex which is a stronger Instant/Time Release Tablet so we are hoping this will finally clear her up once and for all.

We did a little exploring back into some of the neighbourhoods and found that most homes are clean and well kept unlike the ones that are seen from I-10. We circled around until we arrived at Albertson’s where Kathy needed a few supplies. I dropped her near the door before going to the Auto Zone store at the corner of the parking lot. I just felt someone would have the perfect “O” Rings so I checked with the manager. The only thing he had was a kit with Ten “O” Rings, Four of which were exactly what I was looking for and for less then the ones from the Hardware Store. By the time I met Kathy in Albertson’s she was just on her way to the Checkout.
Leaving California.

We were back on I-10 by 5:45 MST and the Sun was just starting to set. We wound our way around the paths at La Posa South LTVA with a bit of Twilight still guiding us along. Once all the Laundry was put away we could finally relax.

Tomorrow we don’t need to go anywhere so watch, we’ll probably be awake early. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Those people don't even have enough sense to know that they are creating dust. Seems like there's a lot of that going around!!

  2. It seems like it doesn't matter where you go there are always some people who are ignorant and just don't care about others. Luckily, especially in this lifestyle, we have found the opposite to be true more often then not.
Hope those new pills work and Kathy is feeling 100% soon. Enjoy a relaxing day today.

  3. Smart to go to Blythe. Takes a little time but you don't have to put up with the hassle of the crowds.

Hope that medicine does the trick for Kathy. Enjoy a day of relaxation. That's what I'm going to do down here on Palm Road.

  4. We too noticed several people going way too fast on these roads! We walked by your place a couple times in the past week but you were either gone or did not see any activity.

We will hunt you down one of these times!

How about dropping around for a campfire around 6:00. Bring the rest of the gang and some chairs.
