Our Location today is La Posa South
L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.
We both slept so soundly
last night that we were awake before the Sun
crested the mountain range this morning. It felt good to look outside and see
nothing but the clear blue sky without a cloud anywhere in sight.
We both managed to have all
the News, E-Mails and morning Blogs read
before 10:00 which gave us an earlier start to the rest of our chores. The one that
I took note of in particular was The Weather Network’s
forecast for this coming week. Not only are there cool days coming our
way but cold nights as well. Since the underbelly of the Trailer had been opened in an attempt to install the Propane Line for our Blue Flame Heater that would have to be
closed up.
After collecting all the Trash and Recycle I was outside working on a variety of minor chores before
10:30. I had to do a slight modification to the Skid that we use to stop the Waste
and Fresh Water Barrels from rolling around at the rear of the Truck Bed.
Next it was checking the Propane Tanks on the Trailer making certain that they didn’t
need to be filled. I then checked the oil and topped off our Honda Generator with fresh Gasoline. Better to be ready just in case.
Before heading inside I went
through my Hardware Organizers that I
carry in the Truck and found the
different Fasteners that would help
to seal up the underbelly of the Trailer.
Using the Tailgate as a Workbench I was
then able to cut the piece of Wood Strapping
that would form a Frame under the Trailer. Before going in for lunch I spread
my cold Coveralls over the Weber-Q to let the Sun warm them up.
Inside Kathy was busy
getting things ready for lunch. She was mixing finely chopped Onions and Celery with some canned Salmon
to make Sandwiches. Yesterday while at
Smart and
Final she picked up an 8” Sampler Cake. We enjoy our desserts
but this had Four Different Pieces Of
Cake to try giving us variety. We know eating too much of that is not good but
Kathy simply cut the piece in half for us to share. Lunch was delicious and
just the right size.
After eating I went outside
and made a few more attempts to run the Propane
Line. Even using the Endoscope,
it was impossible to locate the line above the Fresh Water Tank so I started putting the Wood Strapping inside the Belly
and clamping them in place. By doing so prevented them from moving while I fastened
them in place. Using a White China
Marker on the Underbelly I marked
where the Screws were located before applying the new Fiber Board over the opening. Adding Fender Washers made everything sealed nicely.
Back inside for a few
minutes I replaced the Plastic Spigots
on our Drinking Water Containers with
Brass Valves and “O”-Rings. The Plastic Spigots were constantly snapping off but with the Brass Valves should last a lifetime.
Since we enjoy their
company I walked over to Wayne and Sue’s Trailer to invite them over for a Campfire
tonight being specific that it was only for a couple of hours.
When I got back Kathy had a
store bought Greek Thin Crust Pizza
for me to grill. This was the perfect size pizza so we satisfied but weren’t
full.
While Kathy washed the
dishes, I set up the Firepit and
closed up our Grill. After getting a
few Sunset pictures when Kathy came outside
the fire was lit. With the mixture of the first batch of wood and the second batch
the fire was easy to light. burned warmer and lasted longer.
Wayne showed up around 6:00
by himself. Even using Antibiotics Sue’s
cold/flu has not been improving so she was home in bed. We still had lots to
talk about and enjoyed the visit so much it was after 8:30 before we said Good Night.
Now that we are ready for
the colder temperatures we’ll spend a few days exploring before the Big Tent opens. Thanks for following along, feel free to
leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
