Change Of Plans, Got It Done and Still Hot.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

It actually felt strange going in to work an hour later then usual but that meant waiting even longer for the door to open because production wasn’t working.

As soon as I could I started getting everything ready to do the Pump installation. Once Ivan brought the Forklift over it didn’t take long to get things ready to go. Then Paul the Owner came around telling us we were doing it all wrong and came up with a different way to do it. After a few changes we finally got it finished exactly the way Ivan and I discussed earlier.

Next was to use one of the Pipes with a Check-Valve in it as a Spool so if the Pump needs to be removed that’s all you remove along with the Pump and leave the rest of the line intact.

First we had to make certain the Check-Valves would function. Strangely everyone else seemed to have disappeared while I was actually sticking my arm inside the Pipe and digging Mud out that had settled inside. I had noted that there were fittings on both Pipes that needed to be replaced because they were cracked.

When I spoke to Kathy I told her the job could go past my normal time so she wouldn’t start supper early.

Two Hours later Paul and Ivan showed up. The Check-Valve was working perfectly but as soon as Paul saw the cracked Fittings he just said to scrap them.

First however Ivan and I had to cut and install the New Filters for some of the Electrical Panels. Ivan could not believe how some were fastened in place.

We were about to cut a new piece of Pipe in the Compound with the Reciprocating Saw when it suddenly started arcing by the Handle. Needing to get it done I finished cutting it with a Handsaw commonly used for cutting wood. That’s when Paul walked in wondering why I was doing that. It was Ivan who told him about the electrical arcing. He continued watching while I prepped and installed Fittings on both ends.

We moved back to where the Pump was installed. Once the Spool was installed Brackets had to be fabricated before bringing the Big MIG Welding Machine out. With the Bracket welded in place there was no way the Spool could get damaged. Informing Paul before I left he said we had less then Two Weeks to have it online when we started running the new product. It looks like I’ll be working more Overtime.

As soon as I got in the Apartment Kathy could see my sopping wet Clothes. I headed straight to the shower. We agreed on a Store Bought Thin Crust Medium Pizza for supper. While it was cooking I got my Coveralls soaking in the Pail in the Bathtub. Supper was satisfying.

The 6 o’clock Local News out of London gave the Provincial Numbers before they gave 41 New Coronavirus Cases and 365 Active Cases for the Windsor/Essex Region.

The Weather Network showed that our Humidex felt like 100 F (38 C) with a few more Hot Days before it cools down next weekend.

With more agitation the Coveralls appear ready for their trip to the Laundry Room. This last round of high temperatures seems to have affected the both of us. Thankfully even with things to do tomorrow we should be able to stay cool to recover.
