Way Too Busy and Summer’s Really Back.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Getting up before 8:00 this morning the first thing I did was to start opening the Window Shades in the living area of our Home. That was when I saw the neighbourhood Rabbit cleaning up the Clover that is growing in our driveway. He didn’t even flitch from the sound of the camera turning on. Instead he just kept working away at having his breakfast.

It was only minutes later that Kathy came downstairs to join me for our breakfast. Last night she managed to sleep soundly and woke feeling somewhat more refreshed this morning. Normally it takes three days before she is totally recovered from a restless night.

We enjoyed our Coffees at the Computers but only after getting our morning chores finished. We kept the reading down to E-Mails and checking the Weather. If you recall a couple of weeks back it felt like we were about to have an early winter storm. This week, the very last week of summer we are getting Humidex readings in excess of the Century Mark once again.

Shortly after 10:30 we were on our way to Windsor. Even though our appointment was not until this afternoon we planned to run some errands before then.

Our first stop was at Guardian Storage to get our Mail. Through most of this summer we’ve barely gotten any mail which we have found odd. Today when I opened our box it was packed. It took some digging to get everything out. Asking the woman behind the desk if the Postman was stockpiling the mail she stated the same thing is happening where she lives in Lakeshore.

Kathy was busy sorting through everything while I drove over to Value Village to drop off a bag of clothes that Kathy wanted to donate. All the proceeds made by Value Village go to helping a number of Charities in the Local Community.

It was nearly noon so we stopped at Taco Bell for lunch. We purchased one of those Box Lunches along with a second drink that we shared. We took our time eating knowing we’d still be early getting to the Hall

We went inside the Main Assembly Hall get out of the heat since the office was closed for lunch.  Kathy did some reading while I read a Flyer that came in the mail from Princess Auto. Normally these Flyers are sent out a week ahead of the date the sale starts. This Flyer started last Tuesday so if there was anything that I would need time was running out.

When the Office reopened at 1:00 it was only a few minutes later that Dan called us in. We took care of business first addressing the changes to our Pension Payments. Back in 2008 when the market was collapsing and plants were closing both the Company Representative and the then Union Benefits Representative were overwhelmed with the number of people being forced to retire. They both made it sound like we would never see any change in our Pension but as soon as we turn 65 our Pension changes. Due to the number of years of service that I had my change was not as drastic as many.

We then had the chance to talk about Fulltime RVing and getting rid of STUFF that we all felt we needed at some time in our lives. Most times that STUFF was bought to fill the rooms of a bigger house then we really needed. In the end, the STUFF owns you and is an anchor that holds you back from being able to Travel. In the end “Less is More”. Dan and his wife both plan on retiring in four years so in the meantime they will be doing lots of Purging.

It was after 2:00 when we left the Hall but we weren’t heading Home instead we were heading across town to Princess Auto. While I was glancing through their Flyer at the Hall I found a set of RV Scissor Jacks at a price that was lower then seen in the U.S. and in Canadian Currency. While Kathy looked around the Surplus area I checked the Trailer Supply area, the Tool Section, the section with the Lifts but finally found them in an area for Fasteners. (????)

Yesterday was nearly as hot as it was today so when we shopped at Walmart we made certain we didn’t get anything that needed refrigeration or might melt since we weren’t going Home at that moment. After leaving Princess Auto this afternoon we went to the east end Zehrs grocery store where we purchased what we didn’t get yesterday.
The corn is ready for harvest.
We were Home by 5:00 and made Wraps for supper. The 6 o’clock Local News said our Humidex only hit 106 F (41 C) today and should only hit the Century Mark for the next Five Days. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
