Helping Our Neighbours Again and Making Stock.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

We both managed to wake up feeling quite refreshed from a full night’s sleep even though we were up shortly after 8:00 this morning. When we looked outside it was hard to see the Golf Course that is only a hundred feet away because of the intense Fog. By the time we’d finished eating breakfast and were about to take our Coffees over to the Computers the Fog had lifted enough to see the trees beyond the adjacent Farmer’s Fields.

We’d just barely finished our morning reading when our neighbour Stan was knocking on our door. He needed to pick my brain again to see if I could help them out. It’s not hard to believe that they never owned an RV until last fall just before they went south for the winter. Since this spring they have had problems with a broken water fitting on the back of their Hot Water Heater, when the RV Technician repaired the Water Heater he unplugged their Converter leaving them with no 12 Volt Power for their lights and then another water leak developed due to the Water Line being routed next to the Water Heater’s Combustion Chamber. Today they had a freshly filled Propane Tank that would not let the Propane flow through the line. The only way to fix that was to release the Vapour Lock that had occurred and the next thing they knew they had Propane flowing once again.
Trees are thinning and getting their fall colours already.

Our old neighbour Bob had other problems to deal with in his RV. A bunch of Bees set up housekeeping in a Vent Pipe. In order to avoid getting stung he had to Spray the Nest before using a Shop-Vac to suck their remains out of the Vent. He’ll be adding a screen to stop a repeat performance.
Toasted Tomato and Cheese with Tomato and Sicilian Salad,
along with a Jello Parfait for dessert.
For a late lunch Kathy was busy cleaning out the fridge and while she toasted the bread I sliced the Tomatoes and Cheese for our sandwiches. We also finished off the last of the Sicilian Salad and Tomatoes.

Kathy was busy doing her weekly cleaning and couldn’t get the water to drain in the Shower. It took me less then a minute to remove the Drain Screen and to clear out the collection of hair that had built down inside the Trap. RV Traps are not made the same as those in Houses and need a little more Hands-On type of cleaning. It works like a charm now.

After taking the Trash and Recycle down the Park Trash and Recycle Area I also did a few things outside. Not wanting to work on the Relay today I started to remount the Bicycle Carrier to the rear bumper. Even though these are Stainless Steal Nuts and Bolts that were used it seems that a buildup of Calcification had built into the treads and will have to be cleaned by running Taps and Dies to clean them up. Another Roadblock
Breaded sliced Had with Slivered Carrots and Macaroni Shells.
While I was outside Kathy had been busy cleaning the last of the meat from the Chicken we have already enjoyed three meals from and boiling the bones to make Chicken Stock. When it came time to make supper she had me slice up the small Ham that she then breaded and grilled in the Frying Pan. She also had me chopping up some Vegetables half of which were used in the Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup she cooked after supper and the rest was used for supper.

Tomorrow we are hoping to start getting a bunch of things crossed off our lists. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. I never knew about the wasps getting in vents until my neighbor spotted my heater vent. They were all dead (I had recently used the heater) but what a mess to clean out. I have screens over them now.
