Getting Things Repacked and Helping In An Emergency.

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

I started opening the Window Shades as soon as I got downstairs this morning. The next thing was to turn on our Computers then to start getting things ready for our breakfast. Kathy had barely got downstairs when she noted that it was cold even though she had her Housecoat on. A quick look at my Computer screen confirmed her statement. The outdoor temperature at the time was 46 F (8 C) with a lite North Breeze.

That would be the only time I would glance at the Computer until later in the afternoon. As soon as we’d finished eating breakfast we started our morning chores. We were expecting Mary from Healthy Heals at 11:00 to take care of Kathy’s Feet. Due to having Diabetes and the Medical Coverage I had through work she is covered for In-Home Treatment.

Once I was done my inside chores I headed outside to do a few things there. It was cold enough that I was wearing Long Pants and a Jacket to keep the chill off. The first thing was to move our truck over to our neighbour’s who were only there once this season to clean up their site. That meant Mary would have a spot to park on our site. I next took the time to Dump and Flush our waste tanks since it has been over a week.

Back inside I started repackaging the Vitamin Pills that we have recently been purchasing for our trip to the Southwest. The producers have a bad habit of using bottles that are really too large for the number of pills that are in them. Only putting the Pills that the bottle was labeled for together in a few instances led to getting rid of four empty bottles. That also means that we need less space to transport all these different things.

Mary was right on time and was happy to see we hadn’t been severely affected by all the Rain we’ve had in this area. She did feel bad for us that there is still an issue with the trailer. Her next appointment will be the week before we leave for the Southwest
Sandwich, Cole Slaw and Canadian Berry Pie.
Mary left just before noon so while I put the vitamins in their traveling spot Kathy started making Sandwiches for Lunch along with the last of the Cole Slaw from yesterday. As soon as we were finished eating I started sorting our Laundry. It’s amazing how time flies and our Dirty Clothes accumulates.
I was surprised to see the Pollinators busy this late in the season..
Kathy used the time that I was gone to the Park Laundry Room to reorganize the Front Cabinet using the Organizing Bins we purchased at Walmart the other day. She’s quite happy with the end result.

It was past 4:00 when I got back with our Folded Clean Clothes and the Clouds were really starting to thicken. Moments after getting everything put away I headed back outside to Grill a nice Steak for our supper while Kathy made a wonderful Sicilian Salad to go with the Sautéed Mushrooms she made. Only problem I had was that I had no sooner got the Steak on the Weber Q when it started Raining. That problem was fixed by digging out my Raincoat from the closet to help me finish my chore. Everything tasted great and I just made it inside when the Rain got really heavy and the Thunder got a little loud for a while.

After we did the dishes we watched the 6 o’clock Local News. There were a number of things we didn’t know were taking place in our that they talked about before talking of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. They also talked about the two other Hurricanes that appear to be following in exactly the same path as Irma.

The rain finally stopped and we were just getting into a movie on television shortly after 7:00 when there was a pounding on the door. Our neighbour Pat was trying to get help for our Neighbour Stan who had fallen. He had been carrying a case of Bottled Water into his trailer when he lost his footing and fell off the bottom step. Kathy and I both went over to try to get him up.

We first made certain that he was able to move and that he didn’t have any Broken Bones. Other then a Skinned Knee he was sore where he landed on his side. It took some time but we slowly got him in the standing position. He just wanted to go sit inside but we convinced his wife Angela to take him to the Emergency to be checked out. It took about five minutes before we got Stan loaded in their Truck but he was soon on his way to see a doctor. By the time Kathy and I got back inside our trailer we needed a hot cup of Coffee to warm up.

Tomorrow we have another busy day. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. I hope Stan is okay, we've heard of a similar situation so glad he was taken to Emergency.

  2. That's one reason I've taken to buying water by the gallon. It's not so heavy and easier to load in the rig. Hope he's okay with no broken bones!!!
