Delicious Meals, Necessary Errands and Where Is Summer?

Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

Due to the night time temperature dropping below 50 F (10 C) this early in the season we thought it would be a wise idea to shut the windows and vents again last night. We didn’t turn anything on that would heat the inside of the trailer either. The fact that we are still in the Summer season we didn’t think it was necessary to add any extra covers on the bed before going to sleep. All these added up to the both of us snuggling under the covers pulled to our necks and shivering through most of the night.

As mentioned many times before if we don’t sleep properly at night it reflects in how late we sleep until in the morning. Even with the Sun shining brightly into the trailer after the Window Shades were opened the temperature was only 52 F (11 C). It was definitely a Two Coffee Cup morning when we sat reading at the Computers. We accomplished cleaning up a few other things left behind from our recent return from our Hotel Stay.

While the last two ears of Corn that we had purchased were cooking inside the Microwave Kathy was busy toasting some Bread while I sliced up some Havarti Cheese to be put on them. While I was cutting the stock end off the ears of Corn and squeezing them out on a plate Kathy melted the Havarti Cheese on the Toast in the Microwave. We each had two slices of Cheese on Toast with an ear of Corn for lunch.

We left around 1:00 so that we could run a few errands. Our first stop in Windsor was at Guardian Storage where we collected our Mail before going to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to return the Empty Folded Boxes that we had used when we had to take things out the trailer for the Warranty Repairs.

We next went to the Motor City Credit Union to do some banking which included getting Rolls of Change for future loads of Laundry.

Since using the Plastic Paint Sheet worked so well at protecting our Bed through the Warranty Work we went to Dollarama to get a couple more in case we need them. They are inexpensive, light in weight, easy to store but not always easy to find. We couldn’t get them at the Dollarama in Amherstburg the other day.

We finally ended up at the Zehrs grocery store where we purchased more groceries to add in our Pantry. Kathy has held back filling the new shelves that we added because she didn’t want to overstock them. She also wasn’t really sure how much they would hold.

When we arrived Home after 4:00 the Twenty MPH Wind Gusts were making the 63 F (17 C) feel cooler then it was even in the bright sunshine. This had been the first day since this spring that we had to wear long pants and shoes. We even brought our jackets with us but by not being directly exposed to the Wind for too long we didn’t need to wear them.

After everything was put away we immediately started getting things ready for supper. Kathy cooked Pasta Noodles to go with the rest of the Homemade Chicken Stir Fry she made yesterday. She also cut us each a piece of Chocolate-Covered Zucchini Cake that she found at the grocery store. The Stir Fry was as Tasty as yesterday and the Cake was not only Tasty but Healthy as well.

The Weather Guessers on the 6 o’clock Local News are showing more cool and wet weather heading our way. I thought this was still Summer! Are we in for an early Winter? Stay tuned as we see what Mother Nature has planned for our area. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. Over a month ago I saw a flock of geese flying in V-formation in the direction of Detroit and wondered if they knew of an early winter this year. Hope not, but maybe its time to make some plans for travel... We have had the thermostat set for heat on during the night in the house for the past couple of weeks already. Way too early.
Never had Zucchini cake. Is it made like Carrot cake?
