Getting Ready, Still Sorting and Evening Chore.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

You know that it’s going to be a Scorcher when the moment you step outside in the morning you begin to sweat. It was even difficult putting on my Coveralls as they just clung to me.

After the morning ritual when I returned to the Compound where I moved the Pump back down to the Skid. I still needed to mount the Siphon Tube but had to wait for the Fitting to be delivered. This would also be a more comfortable level to accomplish that task.

I then started gathering supplies that would be necessary for its installation on Saturday and part of that was finding the Bolts we removed from the Valves. I’ve mentioned before how Paul the Owner puts everything in the rear bay. I located all the Electrical Boxes but just could not find the Bin containing the Bolts. I finally asked Paul and his response was where I was looking but I still couldn’t find it. After doing a few small token chores I had to get serious about their location. When I told Paul I had searched more then once and not located them it was wasting my time and costing him Money. That caught his attention and he suddenly remembered putting them outside the Shipping and Receiving Door. Five Minutes later I was sorting the Bolts inside the Compound.

Kathy was back at our Climate Controlled Storage Unit this morning before it got too uncomfortable and she even brought her lunch. Unfortunately the Batteries in her Hearing Aids died so she didn’t hear when I called her Cell Phone.

Parts finally showed up near the end of the shift. I had them installed on the Pump before Paul came to tell me they were there. That’s when I reminded him my shift ended before production and I would appreciate my Cheque today. He signalled me to follow. I had my pay before anyone else.

Even after stopping at the Motor City Community Credit Union I was still in the Apartment before 4:00. It wasn’t long before I was in the shower while Kathy was busy getting things ready for supper. I had barely dressed when she announced it was ready.

Supper was Salmon Fillets with Potato Slices along with a slice of Berry Crumble Pie for dessert and Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) for our refreshment. I was gone before the News started.

That sounds rushed but it was all planned last night. Since I’m working tomorrow I had to do the Laundry tonight. More people had the same idea but what really messed things up for us was those Dryers that don’t do what they are supposed to. It was nearly 10:00 when I arrived back to the Apartment with the last of our clothes folded.

The 6 o’clock Local News gave the Provincial Numbers for the New Coronavirus Cases and Active Cases but Kathy but Kathy didn’t hear anything about the Windsor/Essex Region.

The Weather Network showed that our Humidex felt like 97 F (36 C) again today but is expected to climb through the weekend.

I’m hoping everything goes smoothly tomorrow so I don’t have to spend my entire day there. That will truly make me appreciate Sunday even more.

  1. Okay I've been a terrible reader. Its been so busy around here I haven't had time to read any blogs. I think I'm sorted here now and I recall you didn't get your cheque previously so I'm happy to hear he isn't having $ issues. I'll be a better reader from now on. :D
