Small Errands, Kathy Visits With Vera and More Exercise.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

We both slept until nearly 9:00 this morning but then again it is only the second day of Daylight Savings Time so we both forgave ourselves. Since we’ve been having very lite breakfasts we were able to be sitting at the Computers getting caught up well before 9:30.
While reading some of the Blogs we follow we found a Recipe for making our own Hand Sanitizer since it is now impossible to find any in the stores locally. With that information we made our List of what we would be doing with our afternoon.
For lunch we made Perogies then a Yogurt Cup, Banana and small Boston Cream Donut for dessert. The reason for such a filling lunch was was to give us the energy we’d need to make it through the afternoon.
Even though we’ve now been using the Bookcase as our Television/Entertainment Center for a couple of weeks with the Wet and Windy weather we’ve been getting we hadn’t brought the old Center to our Storage Unit. After taking pictures of it so we can hopefully sell it before the Yard Sale we’ll have in the Spring using Marketplace we used an old blanket and our Utility Cart to load it in the Car.
By 1:00 we were at VitalAire where I suggested to Tiara a way of getting Kathy’s full face CPAP Mask and all she could say was she should have thought of that before. We left with a Mask for Kathy to use when she is congested and when she has the Surgery.

We headed to Guardian Storage where we collected our Mail before heading back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We had to rearrange things so we could add the Entertainment Center without any problems. While moving things we found a few things that came back to the Apartment with us.
On our Dashboard.
The best part was the 63 F (17 C) temperature where we were both able to shed our jackets for some time.
Next we stopped at Dollarama looking for small containers and to see if they had any Rubbing Alcohol and Aloe Vera. We only found the containers.
We next went to Shoppers Drug Mart only to find empty shelves. It seems that people are not taking any chances and are starting to stock up because of the Virus.
We headed over to Walmart to see more empty shelves with long lines at the checkouts of people with shopping carts that were piled high with supplies. It looked like they were digging in for the long haul.

It was past 4:30 so we used a Coupon and went to Arby’s where we had a very tasty supper. We discussed what we saw today and figure that we won’t be making anymore special trips and will just hope the stores can start to restock soon. It wasn’t until we were on our way that Kathy realized she didn’t have her Sunglasses. Back at Arby’s they were no where to be found.

We were back at the Apartment shortly after 5:00 but since we’ve reduced our food intake it seems that our stomachs are shrinking internally because our Roast Beef Sandwiches with Fries was sitting very heavy.

Back at the Apartment Building as we were unloading the few things we had purchased the Wind started to pick up making it feel much cooler. We started watching the 6 o’clock Local News when the phone rang. It was our friend Vera. Since Bill passed away just over a year ago she is still struggling being alone. Now that she is also dealing with Bladder Cancer sometimes she just hides away. After I spoke to her for a few minutes I gave the phone to Kathy. Vera needed some company.

While Kathy went to visit with Vera I used the Truck and stopped at Walmart where I purchased Two Pair of Sunglasses for Kathy. Since her Cataract Surgery her Eyes have become Light Sensitive so she definitely needs those Glasses.

With the falling Gas Prices I then stopped at the Pioneer gas station to top up the Truck with Diesel.

When I finally arrived at Planet Fitness the place was packed. The entire time I did my Cardio Warm Up the area for the Free Weights was also busy and continued to be that way the entire evening. I didn’t do all the extra routines that I’ve recently added because I increased my Weight Load that I was using. At the end of the night I felt great.

I didn’t get back to the Apartment until after 10:30 so by the time I hung my workout clothes to dry it was time to watch the 11 o’clock Local News. Kathy told me that she and Vera spent a couple of hours just talking and Vera was doing much better when she left.

We’ll see what we are up to tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

Words of Inspiration

For beautiful eyes, look for good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

  1. I know how Vera feels. So sad she has to go through cancer after losing her husband. It's so hard to be alone.

  2. Surprised your still going to the gym, given this thing is droplet driven (they say) with so many people sweating and touching the equipment. Consider a jump rope or small weights for home use or just pushups, etc. So sorry to learn of Vera's situation, I missed that somewhere along the way, my thoughts are with her.

  3. What a busy day. I lost a pair of sunglasses recently too. Leave them somewhere for a minute and they're gone. Hope they solve this virus problem soon. Too bad about Vera. Glad she has you two to count on when she gets lonely.

  5. Yeah, this new time is kicking me too. I usually wake right before 6:30 so to give Len his morning meds. I wake him then he goes back to sleep. The last 2 mornings I have slept til 7:30! So this puts the rest of the day with his meds behind an hour. NO big problem.

  6. I am so glad that Vera has both of you for support. I was getting worried about her since she would not answer the telephone. I wish her the very best.

I am terrible about losing things so I just buy my sunglasses at the Dollar Store. I always have a pair to share with my friends who lose theirs in Terlingua on a frequent basis.

I am so glad I stocked up before most people and do not have to face the shortages or long lines.
