Quick Change Of Plans and Driving Through The Old Neighbourhood.

Kathy had a hard time falling asleep last night but once she did she slept like a rock. The fact that I had a restless night the other day the minute my head hit the pillow I was down for the count. What surprised me was that it was nearly 8:30 when I finally woke this morning.
Once we’d had breakfast and settled in at the Computers after I’d read the Local News, my E-Mails and The Weather Network I decided to check something else. I opened the Spreadsheet that I use to track our Medications on to see when would be the next time was that I’d be doing the Pill Doucettes and found out it would be this Monday.

The problem with that is there were a few pills short. When we got the make up Prescriptions from our Family Doctor some could not be filled at the time because we had just gotten some a couple of weeks before. When I called the Drug Store we deal with Steve said he could fill them today but they were only open until 2:00.
Kathy quickly used yesterday’s Leftovers and recreated them for our lunch. She sliced the Potatoes then sauteed them along with the Carrots while making Pork Roast Sandwiches along with the Banana Cream Pie for dessert.

We rushed to be out the door by 1:00 and arrived at Pharma Choice drug store in Amherstburg with Twenty Minutes to spare. Steve had everything ready and made note on Kathy’s file that from now on all her medications would be for 90 Days so we would not have this mess again.

I had planned on making a brief stop at our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s but in our rush to leave we left the package at the Apartment along with the Camera. It may have been a Cloudy day but we missed a number of good pictures.

We stopped at McDonald’s where we had a Coffee and Blueberry Muffin for using their washrooms. It has been a while since we’ve been there and the first thing we noticed was a “Notice” at the door saying that due to the Coronavirus they would not be refilling the Coffee Cups.

On the way back home we took a detour through LaSalle to check out the old neighbourhood. We noted a number of changes made to the old Homestead. Kathy was happy to see it looked like a young family was now living there.

We just took our time heading back and finally arrived at Guardian Storage where we collected our Mail.

Next we stopped at the Pioneer gas station where we topped up the Car for only $.831 per Litre. We haven’t seen prices this low since the 1980’s.

We were taking a chance but stopped at Zehr’s grocery store since the store did not appear to be too crowded. We had a List and stuck with it. We did wander down one aisle that other then a dozen packages of Paper Towels and a box of Kleenex was filled with empty shelves.

At the Apartment we had everything put away by the time the 6 o’clock Local News came on. Just that snack we had in the afternoon made us wait until after 7:30 before Kathy made up Macaroni and Cheese for our supper. Won’t be needing any snacks tonight.

What we’ll be doing tomorrow we are not sure but we’ll let you know when it happens. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  3. Looks like you sleep as late as I do. :)) I'm glad everything is still open . Being out here in the sticks I don't get much news.

  4. Remember you don't have to be literally locked down, just don't go near other people... walk around the neighbourhood for a bit of a stretch, try to preserve fuel in case you need it later...
