Hold The Medicine and Recovery.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Kathy shocked herself when she joined me for breakfast minutes after 8:00 this morning. Every day once we’ve eaten we also take any Medications or Vitamins and today Kathy had more to take because of the Prescriptions that we had filled yesterday.
Our Doctor is extremely well educated and is always up to date on Procedures as well as Medication but all his notes are still hand written. Most times he reviews Prescribed Medications on his Computer if he suddenly questions his own decision because the patient is taking a lot of other Medications like Kathy does.

We were busy at our Computers when Kathy mentioned she was feeling strange which is not uncommon when first taking new Meds. While waiting for our second cup to brew I was busy making up the bed when the Phone rang so Kathy answered. It was our Family Doctor’s Office calling to tell her not to take One of the new Medications because it would react with another Med that she was already taking. A Side Effect was severe dizziness and Kathy was already feeling like the room was swimming. We were surprised that the Pharmacy didn’t catch the mistake.

We had planned on taking Sandwiches with us and working in our Climate Controlled Storage Unit today but not now. Kathy had a Snap in her recliner while I continued reading Blogs.
For lunch I made Split Pea Soup while Kathy split an Apple to go with a Yogurt Cup as well as a Nanaimo Square for dessert.

With her spinning head Kathy was back at her Computer until her balance returned later in the afternoon. She then decided to take stock of what is in the Fridge, Freezer and Pantry adding what she thought we needed to our Shopping List.

Since the outside temperature reached 59 F (15 C) this afternoon we had the Balcony Door open to let in some Fresh Air. A good way of practicing Social Distancing.

It was while we were watching the 6 o’clock Local News when Kathy came out of the kitchen with supper. She had fried a couple of 100% Angus Beef Hamburgers with Bacon and Tomato on them. Since we’ve been cutting back on what we’ve been eating we were both well satisfied with this meal.

With not much on the Television this evening so we went back to the Computers. Tomorrow we’ll be doing the early Seniors Only Shopping again. After that who knows. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Glad they caught that glitch in her meds. You just never know what will react with what I guess.

  2. Good she only took one dose before finding out the issues. Nice to have temps to be able to open up.. know my house needs it after being closed for 6 weeks. Next week high 60's so looking forward to that!

  3. Gotta watch those meds, don't we. I had been given a new cholesterol med. First night, nothing. Second night.... tingling sensation, hot, dizzy. Passed out. Came to only to pass out again. Ride in Ambulance. There was no 3rd try. Trash can.

That is worrisome that she was given a med that conflicts with another one.

  4. Unforgivable to not check for contraindication especially on someone who takes multiple medications. But congrats on complying with the #stayathome advice.

  5. Glad doctor caught the error. I've always read the side affects when taking meds and go so far as to research it on internet. If I feel I should be taking the new meds, I make an appointment for a second opinion. I've saved myself more than once doing that. Some doctors have way too many patients and takes the personal attention away and leave it up to us to tell them something is wrong.

  6. I am surprised that the pharmacy did not catch that but at least the doctor's office did.
