Forgot My Own Advice, Doing Doucettes and Stores Helping Seniors.

While exercising yesterday I was feeling so good that besides my regular routines a few more were introduced. Now that would not have been a bad thing until I pushed beyond just a starting level. After going to bed last night I was soon reminded what people always hear me say “Start Slow and gradually increase your level”. The only thing that I could do was could was to take a Tylenol Night-time Body Pain Tablet. The next thing I knew it was after 8:00 and Kathy wasn’t in bed next to me but already at her Computer.
Once our Lite Breakfast was finished and the Computers checked I needed to see first hand what Pills and Vitamins we had because the numbers just didn’t look right on our Spreadsheet. My suspicions were confirmed that we needed some Vitamins before I could start the Pill Doucettes.
First we had to have lunch. Not planning to be too physically active today we had Caesars Salads topped with Shredded Cheese and Clementine Orange Slices. Thinking we still needed more Kathy made a Mixed Berry covered Frozen Yogurt for a dessert. It was quite satisfying.
We were at the nearby Shoppers Drug Mart just after 1:00. There were very few people in the store. While I gathered the needed Vitamins Kathy checked out the store. She found the aisles with Toilet Paper, Kleenex and Paper Towels just as empty as the grocery stores had been last week. The aisle with Bottled Water had very little available as well.

It was just past 5:00 when I finished doing the Doucettes for the next Forty-Five Days and completely recounted all the Pills as well as Vitamins. I then had to make all those Entries on the Spreadsheet to make it very accurate.
Kathy made open faced Baked Beans on Toast for supper with Mixed Berry covered Yogurt topped with Cool Whip for dessert.

After we watched the 6 o’clock Local News our daughter Karen called. She started doing her job at Home for the University Of Windsor today and all Classes will be going On-Line this Wednesday to avoid possibly spreading the Coronavirus. She had just heard that some of the Local Grocery Stores would be opening from 7:00 until 8:00 in the mornings for Seniors only as a way of protecting them from aggressive shoppers as well as coming in contact with people who could be potential carriers. Their friend who works for Canadian Border Services who knows we normally go south at this time of year said no Canadians returning home would be refused entry into the country but will be asked to Self Isolate themselves for Fourteen Days.

Karen also mentioned that most On-Line sales arenas such as Amazon, Kijiji and E-bay were all busy shutting down sites where sellers of hoarded Toilet Paper, Dust Masks, Hand Sanitizer as well as Cleaning Supplies that making a profit while many could not even get basic supplies.
Not sure what we’ll be doing tomorrow but we’ll let you know. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. It is a first for Kathy to beat you out of bed but you had a good reason for being tired.

I also heard some stores were adding Senior Hours but I do not recall the names of the stores. I think that is an excellent idea.

  2. It might be nice to be allowed in early, but it wouldn't matter at this point because all the shelves are empty!! Maybe in a day or two when they catch up.

  3. Glad there wasn't a rush on vitamins :)) I'm glad I'm far from the hoarding crowd. Enjoy your day.

  4. I heard some seniors here complain, that they would rather have hours mid day as the early hours don't work for them. Just do the best you can..it'll blow over soon we're thinking.
