Coronavirus Shut Down, Getting Out Together and Inside Grilling.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

We both slept soundly last night and woke by 8:30 but when we looked outside thought we be better off going back to bed. It looked like it would start to Rain at any second but it didn’t.
Our morning
After going on the Computers to do our morning reading I knew that my afternoon Plans were sure to change. As soon as I called Planet Fitness my question was answered. The city of Windsor ordered all Gyms to be closed until the Coronavirus is cleared. Do they really know how long that will take for that to happen?
For lunch we had the rest of the Baked Beans on a Toast with a dessert plate of Tea Biscuits, Clementine Oranges and Yogurt Cups.
Weird Tree.
Kathy thought that she would like to go somewhere to walk but since the Wind wasn’t too strong outside I convinced her to walk part of the Ganatchio Trail. Under partly cloudy skies we left the rear parking lot and walked to the end of Betty Drive the street you see in most of our Balcony Pictures. From there we headed across Cedarview Street before circling back. It took us through a small park where there were few children with their parents enjoying the Winter Break.
We saw an interesting tree that resembled a natural Totem Pole. If you looked really close where branches that had been removed were healing itself you could see Faces on the trunk.
Playground for the children.
Windsor Yacht Club across the drive.
Our Apartment is the shortest of the Six at only Ten Stories.
There were also a number of Seniors many walking their Furkids stopping to socialize. Once we got back to the Apartment we crossed the Riverside Drive to see what it looked like at the River. Looking over at Peche Island it was easy to see picnic areas set up that I had once used in a previous life.
Directly across from our Apartment building.
Peche Island  with picnic areas.
The sidewalk points to where we live.
Once we were finally back in the Apartment Kathy wanted to see what we actually had in our Freezer so we wouldn’t go out and purchase more of what we already had in stock. Lots of this came from our Trailer when we moved into the Apartment. We then checked the Pantry making a Shopping List for tomorrow’s early excursion to the grocery store.
Indoor grilling.
When we moved in we were told no Barbecues and if you remember I used to grill a lot of things including Bacon on our Weber Q. We purchased a Starfrit electric grill that could be used inside. It took over an Hour to do Two Pounds of Bacon compared to what the Weber could do. I then just kept on grilling a couple of All Beef Hamburgers for our supper. We haven’t eaten any meat since Sunday and it tasted good. Kathy made us each a half-sized Caesars Salad as a side with a Yogurt Cup for dessert. Because we’ve been cutting back on our intake lately Kathy struggled to eat her Hamburger eating the last half without the Bun. After cleaning up the kitchen we looked out to see a Clear Blue Sky without any Clouds at all.
We watched our 6 o’clock Local News then did a bit of Channel Surfing. Our son Ken called to explain Restaurants in his area were closed and didn’t know if they’d be open for Easter.
Our evening.
We finished the evening back on the Computers. We have Plans for tomorrow but they don’t always turn out so we’ll let you know in our next post if they do. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Nice to see no snow and open water. That will make the returning snowbirds happy.

  3. You folks are so lucky to have the snow all gone. We are still well and truly socked in with snow and mud.
I saw lots of dog walkers when I drove into the town yesterday, but not a child. I guess they are all stuck indoors on their devices. :(

  4. Perfect day for a nice walk. I hope your gym is a big enterprise that won't go out of business. They were saying two weeks, but I think have extended that to 30 days. Hope they open for you soon.

  6. Great that the weather is nice enough for a walk. No snow left. Too bad about the gym closures. Have a good day anyway.

  8. I bake the bacon in my oven. Google it for instructions. No mess, no splatter.

  9. I had no idea you were surrounded by so many other apartment buildings. What a lovely area and a park nearby as a bonus.
