Our Location today is Largo,
Florida.
Even after a short travel day yesterday we were both tired
enough to sleep solid through the night. By 8:00
this morning we slowly got up and after a breakfast of cereal we sat at the
computers until nearly 10:00. We took
a walk around the park to see where a lot of the amenities were and to know which
way out we’d have to drive when the time comes to leave.
Yankee Traveler RV Park has limited transient sites for RVs
that come and go after spending a week to a month. Most of the trailers are
older travel-trailers that have been retired from the road and are now skirted
with additions that would be associated with a sticks and bricks type home.
They had quite an impressive shuffleboard court with shaded
seating for the players. The heated pool was clean with a fair sized hot tub
right next to it. The laundry room only had two washers and two dryers mostly
for use by the transients because most of the park residents have their own.

The landscaping is very well taken care of but the one thing
that really impressed us was they Recycle. This is the first park we have been
to in Florida this year that
Recycles every where else it all ended up in the landfill.
Nicholas, Tom, Bryce and Marci |
We received a call from Tom, Marci, Nicholas and Bryce from
the blog ROAMING FREE 2010 that they had just
left a Volunteer Appreciation Picnic and they were on their way to the Chick-fil-A where we had previously made arrangements
to meet at. After hugs and handshakes we finally got together inside for
a light snack filled with catch up conversation. Since we hadn’t seen them
since the July 4th weekend in 2010 at Thunder
Bay, Michigan there was lots of
catching up. Even though we have been watching the boys growing up on-line and everything
the family had to go through selling their home and getting ready to full-time
it was really nice to sit down and visit with them.
L to R Nicholas, Bryce, Tom, Marci and Kathy off to the side. |
We still needed more time to talk so they followed us back
to the park where they got a tour of our new trailer. Tom and I talked
technical while the boys listened in. Marci and Kathy got caught up on one
another’s travels. Finally we all sat for a bit and talked of things Nicholas
and Bryce have been up to. Finally after running short of time they had a puppy
waiting for their return so they had to leave. I hope we get to do it again
much sooner than 2 ½ yrs.
Final well wishes after a Great but Short Visit. |
As they drove away with the hope of meeting on down the road
again I had another visitor. Ron is parked on the other side of the pond (70
Feet) from us. He has a 2011 F350 truck and we were swapping information
including the fact that he is also from Moncton,
New Brunswick, Canada.
Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
