Chilly Travel Day

Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.

Without even thinking about the fact today was to be a short travel day before going to bed last night Kathy and I had little to very little sleep. Neither of us were even thinking of anything just staring at the ceiling but sleep just evaded us. Finally at 7:00 we both got up had breakfast and finished reading on the computers by 8:00.
It was sunny but cool this morning as we left Apopka.
Someone lost their load in the median and the police were there.
Luckily I had put the printer away last night so I closed down the computers while Kathy did the kitchen. Next I made the bed and put away our CPAPs while Kathy finished stowing things in the back room. By this time I decided to wear my shorts and running shoes to go outside to start disconnecting our utilities.
Kathy taking my picture, getting back at me for all the times I've taken her's.
Saying good-bye to the roadside orange groves.
Once I was outside I started to question the clothes that I’d worn because it was 57F (14C) but stubbornly thought the sun would warm things up. Kathy had finished securing the inside of the trailer and came out the door only to turn on her heal and go back inside to change to her warmer clothes.
Nice Hospital.
Changing Scenery.
The sign says it all.
After saying our good-byes to the camp hosts we were heading out the park gate shortly after 9:30. The traffic on highway 441 was flowing steady and in no time we had made our way to I-75 northbound. We managed the 12 mile run with no mishaps and big smiles on our faces. Not only was that the exit we needed to continue on but it also had the Pilot fuel station I wanted and it also had a Cracker Barrel. Bet you thought I was going to say a Steak n’ Shake! Kathy enjoyed the Rainbow Trout and I had the Catfish and Hushpuppies. Both meals were done to perfection and the best part was the price.
Cracker Barrel
Rainbow Trout with bake sweet potato.
Fried Catfish with Hush-puppies, mashed potatoes and fried apples.
The cost of Diesel was $4.289 a gallon so the loss of weight to the wallet helped offset the weight gain from our meal. The last time I fueled up in Ontario it still cost me the equivalent of a quarter a gallon more and that was last summer.
Still cold and cloudy but we're almost there.
Cold gloomy dreary day.
Local resident came to visit and look in our rear window.
We arrived at Lake Rousseau RV and Fishing Resort (No Relation) close to 2:00 and took us about a half hour to get the trailer where we wanted it and all the utilities hooked up and the slides out in the cold wind. By the time we closed the door it was 52F (11C) with higher winds making us turn on the furnace for the night.
Toasted Bagles with melted cheese, Chicken Noodle Soup, Hot Coffee and corn Chips
For supper a nice warm bowl of chicken noodle soup helped to make us feel warm again. Watching the Weather Channel after supper is showing Florida to be unseasonably cold for this next week to ten days. We’re hoping it warms up by the time our daughter and her family arrive next weekend. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Office Jokes, Quotes, and Anecdotes

The truth about "do-gooders" is nobody really likes them, according to research [from Washington State University]. A series of studies found that those who volunteer to take on unwanted tasks or who hand out gifts without being prompted, quickly alienate themselves. Researchers say do-gooders come to be resented because they "raise the bar" for what is expected of everyone. It suggests that people might want to think twice before talking liberally about their charity work or volunteering to put in extra hours at the office.
