Our Location today is Mims,

With a good night’s sleep we were more than shocked when it
was only 43F (6C) outside after having our breakfast. Without the furnace or
any heat on in the trailer it soon started feeling like an ice chest. Being stubborn
we both decided just to wear our hoodies rather than turning on the heat.

Needles from the above trees are at least a foot long. |
We had driven at least 30 miles before seeing any
indications of settlements along the way and then it happened. As you drove
down the same route you were driving through one town and through the next
before realizing you were already traveling into yet another community.
After having been gone from home for over two hours at that
point we stopped at a Dunkin Donut for a coffee and a snack. There was a Kool 40 (that’s what its license plate said) Ford
Convertible in the parking lot that had the same idea as us. Further down the
road there were more street rods gathering in a parking lot. Finally we thought
we had gone far enough on this adventure when we saw a sign directing us to
I-95 we used it for a short cut back to the camp.
Looking beyond the trees and cars you see the Atlantic Ocean. |

Those strawberry shortcakes looked really good.
ReplyDeleteAnd the weather is STILL cold enough for chilly.
We woke up to the low 20's this morning and we have snow in the next few days :( Boy Spring cannot get here soon enough.
My husband and I like to go on "little" exploration trips like that too, and these little trips usually end up taking up most of the day.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your pictures of food. I do that same thing however it usually doesn't last long enough to get a good picture. Ha-ha Curt
ReplyDeleteThat was some cool Kool 40!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels tomorrow!
