Our Location today is Bushnell,
Florida.
No matter how much we prepare the night before we travel
with the trailer or how relaxed we are it seems we never get a restful night of
sleep. After laying awake for over an hour I got up around 4:00 am to pack away the office set up in the back bedroom.
I even placed things near the door that we keep in the truck while traveling. By
4:45 I was once again looking at the
ceiling praying that I could sleep. After a few short naps I was making coffee
and breakfast by 7:30 and Kathy was
right behind me.
The temperature had dropped to the mid 40’s last night but
was comfortable enough for just a sweater this morning. I took the time to
scrub the windshield down while Kathy closed up the last of the trailer interior.
By 9:10 we were leaving Crystal Lake
RV Park heading for the highway.
We only traveled 8 miles down I-95 before heading inland
towards the town of Sanford. It was
a leisure drive on the state highways that would take us to our destination. The
GPS was working perfectly today but when it instructed us to make a certain
turn onto highway 441 we were shocked to find ourselves back in the area of Mt.
Dora. We had spent the month of
February in that area.
Soon we turned down highway 19 and were winding our way down
roads lined with orange groves. It was much too early for us to arrive at our
next park so we decided to stop at the next restaurant for an early lunch/late
breakfast. Perkins was the winner within a pair of strip malls.
We both decided on a late breakfast that would tie us over
until supper. Kathy had a Belgium Waffle breakfast
covered with Strawberries while I had a Farmer’s Omelet
with hash browns and pancakes that were also covered with Strawberries and both
were excellent and filling.

Most people know Perkins as a family type restaurant but
many don’t know it is also a bakery. We were told that they had a special going
on that if you bought 3 Éclairs you would get 3 free. We thought that would
make a great snack later while we’d be setting up camp so sight unseen we said
yes. The only problem was they were sold out but the Pastry Chef had a fresh
batch in the oven if we wanted to wait for them. That meant we had to have another
coffee while waiting but it was worth the wait and as soon as they were ready
they were brought right out.
Minutes later we were back on highway 19 for a while longer before
heading on to I-75 south for all of 12 miles. Pulling into Breezy Oaks RV Park
in Bushnell it didn’t take long and we were backed into our site. Since we’ll
be here for two weeks we made certain to set up our outside visiting area as
well as our utilities. Now we finally decided to try one of those Éclairs and
were shocked at the size of them. They were huge but so light that they were
not filling.

I took off to check out the laundry room and pool area where
I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Bill. Bill and his wife are Fulltimers
from Essex, Ontario.
They live about twenty minutes from our apartment in Tecumseh. Talk about a
small world.
By the time I got back and started grilling hamburgers Kathy
had heard on the news that rain showers had suddenly developed and were heading
our way. Thankfully the outdoor kitchen on our trailer has a panel that swung
upward allowing me to grill our supper while it rained all around.

The forecast is now showing on and off showers for the next
few days. We’ll just have to find some kind of adventure to fill our time with.
Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
