Our Location today is Largo,
Florida.
Shortly after posting our blog last night I checked my
E-mail to find eight Anonymous comments had already been left and none were
good. After waking before 3:00 and
laying there until 5:00 I finally
went to check the computer for blogs and comments in my E-mail. As Betty from Joe and Betty's Adventures said in a comment “Boy
anonymous really got you tonight huh. Sorry.” After weeks of cleaning
out those comments I finally set the comment setting to stop anonymous comments
and only except those from readers with an Open ID. In the short time it had taken me to reset the
comment setting I had received an additional eight anonymous comments. Since this
morning all is quiet on the comment front.
Kathy wanted everyone to know that I do take most of our pictures. |
Strangely I was then able to fall back asleep as soon as I lay
down. In the morning after explaining the problem to Kathy and we had breakfast
it was back to the computers. No more Spam! Equally strange was that Rick Doyle
from Rick & Paulette’s RV Travels was
explaining how people can use their Open ID for signing on to different sites.
Homemade hamburger helper and apple. Better then the box. |
Well as suggested yesterday today became another day of exploration.
While I was reading Rick’s post Kathy was researching the Pinellas
Heritage Village.
Before leaving we enjoyed a very filling lunch finishing her homemade hamburger
helper and an apple for dessert.
In ten minutes we were at the Heritage
Village which gave us a look into
the past. This is an accumulation of old structures that were moved to this
tract of land in order to make way for new developments throughout the state of
Florida.
Train Depot. |
And we thought our beds were hard to sleep on. |
Modern washer and dryer. |
Easy chairs of the day. |
If they could only see the price of gas today. |
The Fine Print Says (Yes, it runs!) |
Rubberized walking paths made from stone and Recycled tires. |
It is well set up including a paved path that was made out
of recycled tires. Even though it looked like Asphalt it was very comfortable
to walk on. Besides the ancient structures with their antiquated furnishings and
stories of the families whom the homes had belonged to there was also a
visitors building to further educate you and your grandchildren on the past of
the area and how tough life was back in the early 1900’s.
Modern cash register. |
New home phone. |
The Staff for the village are volunteers who are also well
versed in their history. Another good thing you can tour it absolutely free or
leave a donation of your choice to help them carry on in the restoration of
history.
These two trucks are actually used for hauling materials and tools to work around the village and are licensed for the road. |
After nearly three hours of walking around we felt tired and
hungry. On our way back to the trailer we were hungry and decided to give Chick-fil-A another try for supper since we had done
that with the Steak N’ Shake. Yes it is that
tasty and when it comes to chicken and fries Wendy’s and McDonalds are loosing the race.
Last night there was a late arrival to the park and they had
been told to park behind our trailer so I had moved the truck back in front
closest to the Pin-Box so they could share the power post. After we got back from
our outing today one of the park staff told me that I should have remained
behind our trailer and that the other person should have pulled ahead of our
trailer and then ran a heavy extension back to the plug.
Makes you think who are the brains to this outfit and if
others think the same way why are so many of them going out of business. Thanks
for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

OK, we really started something, didn't we??!! Looks like a fun day . . . and now you have a neighbor!
ReplyDeleteThat anonymous guy sure gets around. I shut mine down a few month ago and haven't had a problem since.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the village tour, I enjoyed it.
Love going to those old historic villages.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that gas price!
ReplyDeleteYes, I removed all anonymous comments on my blog, and put moderation on the rest. I was getting 5-10 a day... and many more for blogs long ago in the past... sigh.
