Boring and Celebrating.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

It was again slightly cool when I left for work this morning but after looking at The Weather Network that is about to change.

Grandma Rose, Kylla and Kathy.

I had just gotten my Coveralls on when again Paul the Owner shows up before 7:00 with a Shipping Basket of Carriers. The problem was that someone last night set a Heavy Skid on top of it thus crushing most of the Carriers inside the Basket. Those also were the Carriers that would be needed within the first hour. Forty-Five Minutes later they were all straight with only Eight having suffered any heavy damage.

Kylla and her Birthday Cakes.

As soon as that was done I went about my Morning Walk around the Paint Line and Mezzanine again surprised that the Ovens had not been turned by that time.

Returning to the Compound it didn’t take long to get all the Frames cleaned up before starting to measure them for their skins. I was just about to start shearing the Aluminium when it dawned on me I needed to fasten them together. For those that are unfamiliar with Metallurgy you can’t weld Aluminium to Metal so they have to be fastened with Screws, Bolts or as predetermined by the Supervisor to use Pop-Rivets. For the next Seven Hours I was busy using a Hand Drill making holes for the Fasteners. That is something that puts a lot of pressure on a person’s shoulders so I’m certain it will be an Extra Strength Tylenol night.

Nova loves swimming in the  pool as much as Sanford
which is unusual for St. Bernards. She wears a Life Vest
since she tends to sink rather then float.

I did speak to Kathy at my 1:00 lunch. She managed to get out early enough to get some Birthday Gifts for this evening.

By the time I left for home at the end of the shift there was only a single Frame left to drill holes into. Kharin was happy with my progress.

Appetizers.

The shower really helped revitalize me and we were soon on our way out the door. Our destination was our daughter Karen’s home in Tecumseh to help celebrate our granddaughter Kylla’s Birthday. Her Birthday is actually Saturday but since she’ll be leaving for Toronto in the morning it was chosen to celebrate early.

A number of her friends that we’ve met many times before the Virus also able to attend as they have all had both Vaccines making us comfortable. Greg worked his magic on the Barbecue and in no time had grilled fully cooked Hamburgers that were done to perfection. Add a couple of different Salads and the meal was perfect.

Nova follows Sanford out of the pool.

What put it over the top was when Karen served the Birthday Cakes with Ice Cream. Kylla appreciated all her gifts before everyone headed to the backyard. Even the dogs Sanford and Nova took advantage of the pool while Harry their Sphinx Cat felt safer watching from Eric’s arms.

Harry watching the  activities.

By 8:00 that big meal and my early work hours were having their affect on me. We got our Hugs and Handshakes and were soon on our way home.

Karen gave Kathy and Rose a blanket because
every time Nova got out of the pool she would
shake herself off in front of them.

As soon as we were in the Apartment I turned down the bed and got comfortable. It seems that typing out the Blog helps keep me awake. Since we didn’t see the 6 o’clock Local News we didn’t see any reports about the Coronavirus or any Weather Reports for the Windsor/Essex Region and I know that I won’t last until the 11 o’clock Local News.

I’m going to have a lot of Blogs to read this weekend to get caught up.

Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment unless it personally attacks someone for their opinion or is Spam.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Krackers

For a while Houdini used a trapdoor in every show. I guess you could say it was just a stage he was going through.

  1. Judging from your postings I believe you are the perfect person for your current job if it wasn't for the odd relationship with the supervisor. Your knowledge and expertise for all the different challenges you are faced with, you mastered them easily and management must be impressed. Perhaps Kharin and you need to go for coffee sometime to get to know each other. ;-)

  2. Happy Birthday Kylla, what a pretty young lady! We have a cat just like that missing in Yerington, owner is offering $5000.00 for it's safe return. Dinner looks yummy along with the pool!

  3. I think Marlene's suggestion is a good one. I have worked with many Kharins over the years and discovered it is a cultural difference that causes the problem. Once I realized that, it was easy to establish a friendship. You have been promoted very rapidly, head greaser, boss of the filter department plus you are allowed to be creative in repair and design work. You would be bored at any other job.
