I barely remember getting in bed last night then only waking when I sensed Kathy getting up. It felt wonderful to sleep in this morning but we couldn’t just waste the day. After having Breakfast we took turns getting ready to head out the door.
When the Ontario moved our area of the Province to a more relaxed Lock-Down we were happy to hear the Hair Salons and Barbers were among the businesses allowed to open. Unfortunately since I don’t have my Cell Phone on to take calls while at work it wasn’t until I got home that we saw our hair care place had called and because of my need to wash up the earliest appointment we could get was today.
We arrived at Fantastic
Sam’s with
time to spare and waited until Julia finished her first customer and
let Kathy. Looking at my watch we were right on time. After not
having Haircuts
for over Three
Months it felt
refreshing when we walked out there
this morning. We are
already scheduled for our next appointments.
Leaving we swung by the Devonshire Mall that was advertised as being open. Our destination was the store called Showcase (As Seen On TV). They were still limiting the number of Masked People inside their establishment so since Kathy knew what she was looking for she went in while I waited. She found the organizing trays she was looking for then exited the store so I could go in to pay for the purchase. People behind me were laughing about that. We were back in the Car within Fifteen Minutes of our arrival.
Our next stop was to Guardian Storage where we picked up our lone piece of Junk Mail. We also drove back to check out our trailer. It might have more dust on it but otherwise it looked undisturbed.
We decided to have an early lunch so we went to Wendy’s Drive Thru. We ordered our usual Chicken Wraps, Small Chocolate Frosties and Seniors Soft Drinks. It was all satisfying, re-energizing and inexpensive.
Since we weren’t that far away we drove over to our daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh. The one thing these Lock-Downs have really affected is how often we visit with our Family and Friends. We sat outside under their Gazebo visiting with Karen, Kylla and Sanford. They have all been working hard to change the appearance of their backyard. Both Greg and Tyler were working. We stayed just over an Hour but before we left Karen gave us a bag full of Rhubarb.
Heading back towards home we stopped at the Dollarama that was closest to our building. Kathy was looking for additional Bins to help organize our Refrigerator but also to walk the aisles for exercise. As luck would have it they also had the Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) we enjoy as a treat. We have not been able to find it at all locations lately so that was why we were lucky. When another woman saw me putting a few Bottles in our Cart she emptied the remaining bottles into her’s.
When we arrived at our building there were a few more parking spots available so after parking the Car I took the time to move the Truck so if that person that was blocked in needed to use their car they could get into the driver’s door.
After getting everything put away I immediately started cleaning and chopping the Rhubarb. Kathy took care of the cooking and seasoning but we now have Rhubarb Sauce for breakfast tomorrow.
I then spent the next Two Hours on the phone getting a better rate for our service and setting up for the Tech Department to fix the problem with our not being able to access our Voice Messages on our Home Phone.
For supper we had Italian Wedding Soup along with Cheese and Crackers before topping it off with a small piece of German Chocolate Cake.
The 6 o’clock Local News was again pre-empted by a Golf Tournament.
Our high temperature felt like 82 F (28 C) today with a northerly breeze that will bring overnight Rain. The next Six Days are forecasted to be very wet.
Looking forward to my second day off.
