Last
night we both slept fairly well after having had a Sleepy Time Tea
before going to bed. There were a few moments of wakefulness as
we turned over but otherwise we woke up well rested.
When
we finally got to our Computers the first thing I checked was
The Weather Network and their
Spring-like Forecast for the next couple of days had us
rearranging our plans for the day.
We
had the Leftover Homemade Meat Pie and Asparagus for
our lunch then we topped it off with a Clementine Orange,
Chocolate Chip Cookies as well as a Yogurt Cup
for dessert. It was just as tasty as the other day.
After
a gathering a few supplies we were soon on our way. Our destination
was our Climate Controlled Storage Unit at
Guardian Storage. The first thing we had to do was to get
the Truck ready for hauling Furniture. With the Tonneau
Cover rolled up I then had to raise our Wind Deflector before
removing our Fifth Wheel Hitch.
Our
next step was to move Boxes and Storage Bins so that we
could move the Curio Cabinet along with the Oak Dining
Table and Chairs from the very back of the Unit.
Once those items were in the hall we had to replace what we weren’t
bringing in the Truck along with the Hitch. Loading the
Truck took very little time but what took longer to do was to
Strap everything in place so that nothing would move while
being transported especially the Curio Cabinet that was
standing upright.
We
made a quick stop at the Trailer. Last night I suddenly
remembered this is now Spring. Even though the Trailer
had been Winterized it is not ready for the rituals of
Mating Season. Even though I added a metal plate on the back of
our Pinbox birds would squeeze through the seal at the front
of it. When I arrived I found our Pinbox already filled with
grass for a nest. I got quite a bit out before adding the wooden
block that had ended that problem last year.
It
was already 3:30 when we headed out the Gate. It felt strange
travelling the streets during Rush-Hour and there was hardly
any traffic. We simply drove south on Walker
Road until we reached the town of
Harrow.
Our
destination was to our son Ken and his fiance Heather’s apartment.
We made certain to wear Masks and Gloves as a way of
not only protecting ourselves but them as well. Who knows who could
be a Carrier these days. They
truly appreciated the furniture but didn’t realize that they are
also helping us by taking it.
It
was 5:45 when we arrived back in Windsor
and we were feeling hungry. Even with all the restaurants and fast
foods closed to dine in they still have Take-Out and
Drive-Thru. We went to Wendy’s
where we used a Coupon for our supper at the Drive-Thru.
The young ladies working the windows were wearing Masks as
well as Gloves. We sat in the parking lot enjoying the
Chicken Sandwiches we had gotten. It wasn’t until we finished
that we realized just how hungry we were.
We
missed the beginning of the 6 o’clock
Local News but we knew what they had been talking about.
The Coronavirus, Social
Distancing and Staying in Place.
We’ll
be doing some at home chores tomorrow and if we are lucky we might
even be back at the Storage
Unit.
Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Well that's one way to lighten your load... it got you out of the house at least. Keep at it... slow and sure, don't overdo it - no one wants to go to a Dr these days...
ReplyDeleteIt always feels good to clean out storage and a plus they were appreciative.
ReplyDeleteYour storage unit is slowly getting leaner and that is always a good thing. I wish we had a donating place like Salvation Army or Goodwill Industries in town it would make it so much easier to be able to get rid of so many items I no longer need but that are still in good shape.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are making plans to downsize or say good bye to that storage unit. Our plan was to downsize ours this summer still hoping it happens. Good luck with yours. Stay safe and healthy.
ReplyDeleteGood that you were able to find a home for your furniture. Less to store now.
