Many of you can relate to Working long hours at your career. Raising your families. Buying a home and paying all the bills related to being homeowners and parents. We're now retired and don't need all that work and expense. Now "It's about time" and what we do to follow our dreams.

Answers To Comments, Running Errands and Late Night Exercise.

We were both in bed by midnight last night so I was feeling well rested when I got up and had things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me at 8:00. As soon as we looked outside it was no surprise to see all the SXXW piles had disappeared overnight.
All the snow has melted.
In response to a Comment about our tracking our expenditures on a Spreadsheet I started my own version on Microsoft Excel years ago and it worked so well that our daughter and daughter-in-law had me make them each one. It’s not difficult to do and everyone can make it to suit their own needs. If you forget something at first it’s easy to adjust it later. When I lost my Hard-Drive I also lost my Microsoft Office but was able to use the FREE Libre Office which took some getting used to but can work just the way I wanted. If you feel you haven’t got what it takes to make your own Spreadsheet to monitor your budget the program “Quicken” might do the trick for you though I’m not sure how much it costs.
Another Comment said we have a lot of trouble with our Bank. This recent problem was with a Credit Card Company that their Security Computer sensed a “Suspicious Activity” had just taken place. The time and date we were given by Amy yesterday occurred just after we had paid for our meal at East Side Mario’s over a week ago. With today’s technology my Credit Card never left my hand and I used the Tap to pay the bill. Personally I think they need to adjust the sensitivity of their Security Computer.

The last Comment was about the Redneck Jokes. I don’t make these up and I have a lot but not enough to post them every day so I mix in other Jokes with them to stretch them out.
For lunch we had Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Cookies, Yogurt Cups and a Half an Apple for dessert topped off with a cup of Tea. We had plenty of running around planned for this afternoon so we knew that we would burn off the extra calories.
When we headed out the door it felt quite comfortable at 48 F (9 C) but as we walked past the end of the building into the parking lot we were hit by 43 MPH Wind Gusts from the West. That had us doing up our coats really quick.
Our first stop was VitalAire where we returned a Loaner Mask that Kathy could not use. We also had to question a bill for an Unknown Charge that we were told to appeal with our Medical Carrier.
Leaving there we went to Guardian Storage to pick up our Mail. Since we are expecting Forms that we need to get our Income Taxes Filed we will be checking the Mail more often.

We had planned on using the Service Road to go to our next stop but with Traffic backing up due to a Train that was actually stopped across Two Roads we headed back to Central Avenue and used the Expressway. As we were passing Jefferson Avenue we saw the Train had finally moved on and the Crossing Gates were just going up.

We stopped at Green Shield to question why One of the products that they had covered in the past was suddenly not being paid for. After some checking on the Computer we were told that they should not have paid for it the first time. The kicker is they waited Ten Months to notify us.
We headed over to Zehr’s grocery store where we walked out with our grocery bags loaded and our wallet lighter. Kathy was going to get some Pecans but with the high price in the grocery store we went next door to the Bulk Barn only to walk out with a larger amount of Pecans at half the price Zehr’s was charging.

Back at the Apartment we worked together putting things away. It was past 5:00 by then so Kathy decided to cook up a different Tourtiere to try. It was okay but not as flavourful as the last one we had gotten so we won’t be buying it again.
After watching the 6 o’clock Local News Kathy wanted to watch the Television but I was starting to ache so with her permission I headed off to Planet Fitness to exercise. I got back to the Apartment just before 10:30 feeling so much better. Not sure what we’ll be up to tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. It's nice you have more than one store to purchase things. Around here, it's such a long drive to the next store, it's never worth it.

  3. Thank you for commenting on your spreadsheets. I used to know how to use Excel and make formulas but that was a long time ago.

    I have an old version of Microsoft Office but they are disks and my current desktop computer no long has a disk drive.

    Wow, you got a lot of exercise in last night! Thumbs up!
