Getting
up at 7:30 this morning we really didn’t know just how much we were
going to accomplish today. Kathy was already coming downstairs even
before I had all the Window Shades raised. As we ate our
breakfast we could see Ken outside doing some last minute packing.
Picture forwarded from Ken. |
Kathy went to the Computers while I did my inside
chores then I headed over to wish Kan Safe Travels one more
time. He offered me a little advice on angling the Backup Camera.
Even though Skelly had helped in the pretravel setup Ken insisted
that he was doing the driving.
Being
Canadian and
needing Cell Phones in the US
we always found TracFones very
reliable. When our time approached for us to add more Time on
the Phones they would E-Mail us a notification. Well
that’s all changed. Now they send you a Text Message the day
it’s about to expire. Since we leave our Phones inside when
we are working outside and we Don’t Text we
missed that message. I spent nearly an Hour on Kathy’s
TracFone trying to get mine reactivated and still didn’t get
it because their Computer does not recognize 82100 as
an American Zip Code. In Canada
our Postal Code is a combination of Alphabetical and
Numerical Digits. Everyone’s Credit Cards are
registered according to their Mailing Address so when we use
our Canadian Credit Cards in the US
we simply punch in the Three Numerical Digits followed by Two
Zeros. TracFone’s
Computer is now programmed to only accept Credit Cards
with US Zip Codes. Now
I’ll have to go buy a Pre-Paid Card at a commercial outlet
where I can use my Canadian Credit Card.
Since
we needed Water in our Fresh Water Tank I headed over
to the Water Fill Station here in La Posa
South LTVA. There were very few people getting Water
as more and more RVs are pulling out Daily. I only
filled our Fresh Water Barrel with about Thirty Gallons of
Water. I was able to transfer the entire amount to our Fresh
Water Tank so that I’ll be able to stow the Barrels
this week.
Kathy
made Chicken Stir Fry and Egg Rolls for lunch topped
off with an Apple Sauce Cup for dessert. This would be our
largest meal of the day.
Before
Ken had set up his RV in January Kathy had noticed that there
were lots of Nails around the old Firepit from people
that had burned Old Skids. She had already used our Magnet
to clean a few others up so now that Ken had left for the Season
she went over to clean it up. We always try to leave things better
then when we arrive and this was another of Kathy’s contribution to
that. It took her nearly an Hour but she collected over Thirty
Pounds of Nails into a Plastic Lined Box. Tomorrow I’ll
bring the Truck over to collect it and bring it to the Trash
Bins.
I
again worked off the Truck Tailgate to finish Wiring,
Sealing, Assembling and finally Mounting the new
Mudflaps. Kathy and Wayne were visiting in the Shade of the
Trailer to keep cool while I lay on my mat under the Truck
to finish fastening them in place. Now the Truck looks the way
it should.
For
supper Kathy made Chicken Noodle Soup and Chicken
Sandwiches. We also shared an Orange and some Yogurt
Cups for dessert.

This
past winter we picked up the same amount of Firewood
as
we had in the past but the Weather
had made it difficult to have any Campfires.
Since we are not supposed to transport it across State
Lines this
last week the Weather
has been perfect. We once again had another Campfire
with
Wayne and Sue and their Fur-Kids.
It’s so peaceful and relaxing allowing us to share stories of our
lives. We still have more
Firewood to
burn another
Day.
We
called it a night shortly after 10:00 so with all that Fresh Air I
don’t think we’ll have any problems sleeping tonight. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s
about time.

Cute pic of Skelly driving! Glad you were able to get the mud flaps done! Nice! How nice the weather is cooperating so you're able to have some nice fires now! Better late than never! Nice job Kathy!
ReplyDeleteCouple of nice meals. You can never go wrong having chicken soup.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting about Canadian credit cards. I had no idea they were any different. Mud flaps look good!!
ReplyDeleteThere is alway something frustrating to have to deal with re cell phones or whatever. I cancelled my Magic Jack account this winter as it would not work with the new OS on my computer.
ReplyDeleteSkelly always gives me a laugh, I hope he joins you next year. Way to go Kathy!
ReplyDeleteIt should not be this hard to give a cell phone company your money. To bad you cannot just get a US plan, period, to use all the time. Our plan, totally unlimited, covers us in the US, Canada, and Mexico. I suppose that would be to easy of a solution so there must be some catch.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your days our winding down there. Enjoy you last campfires.
I sure wish one provider would come up with a fool-proof plan for cell phones for us Canadians. Just when they get close they change the plan. Very frustrating.
ReplyDeleteMust be getting lonely around there. Just you and the snakes!
That sure is a lot of nails. Place is looking pretty empty.
ReplyDeleteKathy did good!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your campfires, hear that we might get one last hooray from "Old Man Winter" :-(
