Having hardly slept on Thursday night we were
looking forward to getting between the Winter Sheets last
night but there was one little problem, getting our PJs on.
Again we turned the Furnace on to to raise the 36 F (2
C) temperature inside the Trailer. The noise level was
definitely better which helped us to get caught up on our missed
sleep.
We woke and were enjoying the warmth under the
covers when we started discussing what we had to do with the rest of
our day. We were shocked to see that it was nearly 9:00 in the
morning when we finally looked at the Time. After cycling the
Furnace again we managed to get dressed and get the inside of
the Trailer ready for traveling.
Breakfast was next door at A&W
where we enjoyed our meals on real China with real
Dinnerware at a reasonable price. When we got back to the
Trailer it was time to be moving down the road and head toward
Amherstburg.
We were barely down the road Two Minutes
when the Truck’s Re-gen finally kicked in.
After all the worrying we have been doing lately because it had not
been happening finally ended. Kathy was following in the Car
as we were going around a bend when it started. At first she wondered
what had happen but when she smelled it she knew what it was and was
cheering to herself. It stayed on for nearly Twenty Minutes before
it finished. Now we can confidently head south without worrying about
it.
We drove by the Grocery Stores to find
the lots filled with Cars so we kept driving until we reached
Walmart. The exact area we wanted
to park for the night was empty so with a few turns of the wheel and
we were parked for the night.
Even though we’ve been having Sponge Baths
since we left Wildwood RV Park
on Thursday we haven’t had a chance to wash our Hair.
The fact that it has been extremely cold at night did not help. We
chose to go to First Choice Hair Cutters where after a short
wait we got our Hair washed but unfortunately when they washed
my Hair they managed to get half my shirt wet as well. It took
hours to dry.
It was past noon so we headed back to Soup
and Salad where we each had a bowl of Chicken Noodle
Soup and we shared another Greek Chicken Salad Wrap.
Finally we headed back to the Trailer
and emptied the Freezer of all the meat we haven’t eaten.
We didn’t need the hassle when crossing the
International Border. When we finished there we headed
over to our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house. Since
they’ll be watching our Car while we are away we don’t
feel upset about sharing the Meat with them. We had a short
visit before heading out.
Kevin joined us to head over to Liz’s Live
Wake. When we got close we knew we weren’t alone as there were
at least Forty Cars and Trucks parked along the roadside not
counting the Twenty or more already in the Driveway.
When we got in the Shop where the Wake was taking place
we found Liz wasn’t there. We went in the house to say our Hello
before helping Gay bring her out to greeted by the cheers of her
other guests. I also had the chance to visit with lots of other
Skilled Trades People that I once worked with years
ago. Around 5:30 the crowd started to thin because Liz was starting
to look very tired. As we were leaving we knew that we were saying
Good Bye to Liz for the last time.
Back at Kevin’s he cooked up supper for the
boys since Melissa was attending a Fundraiser at the Church.
He also allowed us to use his WiFi to post this Blog.
Kevin will
drive us back to our Trailer
tonight
with our Car and
we’ll see him again in the Spring.
We’ll be crossing the
International Border tomorrow
morning to start our southern migration. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and
Enjoy!
It’s about time.

I'm sure the live wake was difficult, but again I really like the idea. I'm sure she appreciated all the turnout and love that was shown. Now on to happier things, like the border crossing! Can't wait to follow along!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful thing, although sad.
