Knowing that we were not getting ready to move too far down the road this morning I forced myself to stay in bed later. I knew there should be Sunlight seeping in the Windows at that time of morning but there was none. Looking out there was a massive amount of Clouds over the Mountains
First thing this morning.
I barely had things ready for breakfast when Kathy came downstairs. Even though the Temperature was mild outside people were wearing their Hoodies in order to keep the Dust out of their Hair. Some were being smart by wearing Dust Masks because of the gusting Wind. By the time we finished eating breakfast the Mountains were totally hidden behind a curtain of Dust. According to The Weather Network the Wind Gusts were exceeding 50 MPH.
An Hour later around 9:00 MST. Can you see the Mountains.
Before getting too comfortable at my Computer I took the time to call Dream Catcher RV Park in Deming. We have been Escapees Members for quite a few years. When I pulled my card out the other day I found that it Expired at the end of October and we hadn’t gotten a notice. When I called to renew it on the Phone I requested they send it to the Dream Catcher Park in Deming where we could pick it up. I had figured we’d be arriving there today but with the way the Truck looked yesterday that would be very doubtful so they will just hold on to it until we get there.
10:00 MST.
After doing our morning reading on the Computers, Kathy started making her Data Entries into our Christmas Gift Spreadsheet. By using a Spreadsheet like this it allows her to keep track of what we give to our children and grandchildren. We try to keep the number of Gifts the same for everyone plus we like for the value to be close for everyone as well. Rather then just giving Gift Cards we like to see the look of satisfaction as their Gifts are being opened because we try to make everyone’s Gifts personal. Another thing we can look back over the years to see what we gave to everyone so they aren’t getting the same thing year after year. Once Kathy was done it was my job to repack our Bedroom Cupboard and make everything fit safely in there so they won’t be damaged in our travels.
11:00 MST.
For lunch we finished the last of the Chicken Vegetable Soup along with a couple of Cheese Sticks and a Fruit Cup for desert.
The outside scenery kept changing all day and our Trailer took some hard hits from the Wind. After more research on the Computers we decided to watch a movie this afternoon to help us relax. The movie we watched was “Snow White & The Huntsman” starring Kristen Stewart, Charize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. This was no Fairy Tale and it wasn’t made by Disney but it will definitely keep you on the edge of your seats. Lots of Action and Special Effects.
For supper while I thin sliced a Potato Kathy was breading up some Haddock Fillets before sauteing them all for the perfect meal.

We would like to Thank those that are trying to lift our spirits over the Truck but we look at this as a slight Blessing. We have seen more things then what we had originally planned to see in this area because we stayed longer then expected and we’ve gotten a lot of our Christmas Shopping done for next year. Now we just need our Truck back so we can start exploring other things down the road that we had planned. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Its sometimes nice not to follow the schedule. You can see some neat things and meet some awesome people while being somewhere you hadn't planned.

  2. We have found over the years the "detours" produce the best adventures. Of course, you have to have the right attitude to enjoy them. Sounds like you and Kathy do. Take care and hope you have the truck back soon.

  4. Making the best of it is a great way to look at your situation for sure! WE get a lot of those winds here in Nevada too. Ok for a day or two, but it gets old after a couple haha.

  5. That must be the wind storm that blew through quartzsite the night before. We even got a small amount of rain. The next morning it was clear and refreshing. We been busy putting the new trailer together haven't had a chance to to write just got the solor up yesterday no more generator at night. Sorry to hear about the truck. I know it's pretty easy to get the cab off of these trucks to work on these diesel motors. Look at it this way you will have almost a new motor out of the deal. See yeah when you get here.
