When
I first opened my eyes this morning I thought about what we had
planned to do today and not to much came to mind. Then I rolled over
face up and wondered why is my face so cold. That woke me right up.
My next thought was something happen to our Electric Fireplace
so I dawned my Housecoat and went downstairs to check.
As
soon as I got in front of the Fireplace
there was some warmth to be felt. After getting things ready for
breakfast I turned on my Computer
and
found out why it was so cold. The outside temperature was 27
F
(-3
C)
feeling like 19
F (-7
C)
with
north east winds.
Then
my eyes caught sight of the temperature back in Essex,
37
F
(3
C).
That stupid breeze from home was bringing the cold air
right
to us making it warmer up
there.
When
Kathy got up she didn’t want to believe that it was warmer in Essex
but
this is the Third
Year
that we’ve seen this happening. There was only one thing to do,
after we finished our morning Coffee/Tea
we dressed
warmly and headed
out the door.
With
this being Monday we would finally be able to get some answers so we
were headed to Vision
Ford
to find out the status of our Truck.
Darla the Service
Manager
was in and told us that after Richard, the Mechanic, had ordered
what parts he needed to fix our Truck
he had to
finish
off other jobs that he had previously been
working
on. If everything goes smoothly he could be done by Wednesday, but if
not later on Thursday before we get our Truck
back.
Not
what we wanted to hear.
Our
next stop was Enterprise
Car Rental
where we explained
that we needed their truck beyond today.
After
a week, lots of our food stocks had gone down so we went around the
corner to the Walmart
Supper Center.
With no real hurry we took our time walking up and down all the food
aisles. When we left we had not only restocked our Pantry
but our Freezer
as
well.
Knowing
it would take some time to get that all put away we stopped at
Wendy’s
for
lunch. We have our favourites that we like to eat there
but
when they
advertise something new for a “limited
time only”
I suggest we try them so we don’t tire of our usual meals. Today we
tried their Loaded
Fries
along with a small Soft
Drink.
They tasted good but since we’ve been avoiding Fries
lately
it will take
another special offer
before
we have them again.
It
took nearly an Hour
before we had all
our
groceries all put away once we got Home.
I
also informed the Park
that we’ll be here longer then planned.
Also
mentioned the other day someone at the Bank
didn’t transfer the
amount of
money we
requested to
cover our repair bill and if it got any higher we’d have a problem.
When Kathy checked our account this afternoon the remaining money
that we had asked for had
been transferred.
We
noticed the other day that our Escapees
Membership
had expired at the end of October but
we
never received our Notice.
So I simply called their
Office
to take care of it. Instead of having it mailed to our Home
address I had it sent to
Dream-Catcher Park
in Deming
where
we’ll stop overnight. If it doesn’t arrive on time they will
simply forward it to Jojoba
Hills Park
in California
where
we plan on meeting other Escapee
Members.
Even
though it was 55
F (13
C)
this afternoon it certainly didn’t feel like it so we spent the
rest of the afternoon doing our morning reading on the Computers.
Even though they tasted good those Fries
we
had filled us up so we decided to watch a movie instead of
eating.
We watched the comedy “Snatched”
starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn who
as a mother and daughter go on an exotic vacation only to be
Snatched.
It will keep you laughing.
Not
sure what we’ll be doing for the next couple of days but we’ll
find something. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and
Enjoy!
It’s about time.

your friends begin to flatter you on how young you look, it's a sure
sign you're getting old.
Brrrrrrr that's COLD!!!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed you get that truck back and you can be on your way by the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteI really dislike checking the weather in the morning and finding out is warmer back in Escanaba. Though it does warm up better in the afternoon out that way. Of course, since,we are still in the frozen north I wish it was warmer then Arizona...lol Take care.
Sorry you are stuck there in that cool weather. You are making the best of it though.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're going to be stuck there longer. Hopefully the weather warms up and the truck repair is completed quickly.
