Out Of The Park and On The Road Doing Last Minute Things.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

We were lucky to have gotten as much as we could do in preparation for our departure this morning. We both had a bad case of Pretravel Sleeplessness which was quite unusual that it had been Raining the entire night. Kathy had it worse then I did but we were both out of bed by 6:30 this morning. After a quick breakfast there was more packing to do and we realized that we still had a lot to do.

When I went outside to finish bringing up the Stabilizers even with my Raincoat and Boots on I still needed to put on Dry Clothes before we drove away. Kathy followed me in the Car as we rolled out the Wildwood RV Park gate in Essex at 10:13 heading towards Leisure Trailer in Lakeshore. We surprised Stephanie when we walked in before 11:00.

While Kathy and Stephanie wrote up the Workorder I made a call to Jim at Windsor Gas and Diesel. When we first purchased our Truck in 2009 the Regen kicked in before we had driven Fifty Miles and continued to do that for years. Talk about a waste of Fuel. This past summer the Regen was not turning on and had us worried so Jim initiated it using his Computer. Since he did that the Regen hasn’t started once and we don’t want to break down by the side of the road because it’s not working. He said he was swamped today but to bring it in.

After unhooking we left the Trailer at Leisure Trailer and went to Windsor Gas and Diesel to drop the Truck off before heading to the West Side Wendy’s location where we had our usual lunch off their Value Menu. Inexpensive and Tasty.

On Tuesday Kathy saw my Family Doctor because of the Severe Swelling in her left Hand. Each time she talked about it to her own doctor all she would say was to take Tylenol. Today we returned to see George and he was amazed at how her Hand has Improved. When he reviewed the results of the Blood Tests Kathy was happy to hear that all her counts were within acceptable levels. It was at that point that Kathy asked George to be her Doctor. We’ll set that up when we get back in the spring.

Back at Windsor Gas and Diesel Jim was just starting to check the Truck out when we arrived. Even though we’ve driven a Couple Hundred Miles the Onboard Computer showed that it would be a while before it would start the Regen process again. Our Truck does not use Urethra but I always use Diesel Kleen and we haven’t done much Highway Towing since this spring. Jim figures with more Towing it should start fairly soon.

When we got back to Leisure Trailer the Trailer was ready and it cost less then Thirty Dollars. Hooking up in the Rain again we were soon heading for the East End Camp Walmart in Windsor. After getting permission to stay overnight we went to Wendy’s where we had their Full Sized Salads for supper. We also took advantage of their Free WiFi.

We have a few more days before we make some serious miles south to warmer temperatures. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Hope all is well with the truck. That regen system is certainly a mystery although I do notice the more towing I add a lot of DEF.
Hope all is well with your health and you can enjoy a great winter south!

  4. Travel safe!! Yesterday was a rough day to get hitched up and on the road! I'm really tired of rain, and Tom is ready to head south -- two more weeks, then we'll be back moving!
