We were
both up around 8:00 this morning not because we were well rested but because of
the Drum-Like Sound of the Rain pounding on our Roof. The Forecast had been for Rain but
not that hard. Opening all the Window
Shades made very little difference inside the Trailer forcing us to turn on Lights
so we could see our breakfast.
That
definitely made for a Two Cup Morning
while we were on our Computers.
Playing with the Radar on my screen I
was able to tell Kathy when the Rain would
stop and when the Sun would start to
break through the Clouds. When I went
outside later our Rain Gauge showed
we’d gotten 7/8” of Rain just this
morning which is a lot for this area.
With
plans for this afternoon we decided to start making up lunch slightly early.
When we visited with Kevin and Melissa last evening, Melissa sent us Home with a couple of Pieces
of Homemade Meat Pie. Their boys are typical teenagers and would rather
have Burgers rather than something healthy.
What is so special is that she chopped her Vegetables
very fine, mixed them with some Mashed
Potatoes then added the Meat. It
was Delicious! You can’t get store
bought pies that taste that good.
We were
out the door by 12:30 heading towards Windsor with a bunch of places we
needed to stop at with the first being Windsor
Gas and Diesel. The Truck was running
good last night but we wanted Jim to give the Engine a quick scan before we hit the road in November. Since we’ll
be going back to town next Tuesday we’ll drop the Truck off for him to check it over.
Driving
over to Guardian Storage we collected our Mail before heading over to Green Shield to submit Kathy’s Claim Form from Mary’s Healthy Heals appointment. We generally have a full reimbursement
in less than a week.
From
there we made a quick stop at Walmart to check something out
before heading across town to the Windsor Rehabilitation Center to visit our dear friend Vera.
We arrived
shortly after 2:00 which meant we didn’t have to worry about interfering with
her lunch. She has been there for Four
Weeks already and is really wishing she were home. We talked about the kids
and what they are up to. Then she pointed out that it wouldn’t be long before
we’d be heading South. Even once she
gets home she won’t be able to drive for a while but she’ll still need to do Physio Therapy. If you recall I set up
her Apple Tablet to work off the Hospital WiFi Connection. Because the Tablet considers the connection as Unsecured it shut down after Twenty Minutes. A nurse tried to help
her out with the same results and yet her I-Phone
has no problem with the connection. Since her supper arrives around 5:00 we
said our “Good-Byes” just before
that.
Kathy
was starting to feel Light-Headed as
walked out so we headed over to Wendy’s
where we ordered our supper from the Value
Menu. Even at $9.20 for the both
of us to eat we can’t go wrong but we’ll be looking forward when the price
drops again next year.
Using
the new Highway 401 ramp to Walker Road we skirted the city and were
Home shortly after 6:00. The Sun had been shining all afternoon
drying things up.
With
plans to do some Sight-Seeing before
we get to Arizona this year Kathy was busy Researching
places we could stay along the way. So far, she hasn’t found any Free Camping areas in New Mexico around the White Sands area.
Tomorrow
will feel above the Century Mark with High Winds for the first day of Fall before returning to seasonal
temperatures. We’ll figure out what we can do at that point. Thank you for following along and feel free
to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Only man clogs his happiness with care,
destroying what is with thoughts of what may be.

Love the changing colors you know Fall is headed your way! The meat pie sounds delicious for sure!
