Fourteen Stops and Cold Wind.

Our Location today is at McGregor, Ontario, Canada.

It felt wonderful sleeping with the Window and Vents open last night but by the time we were getting up this morning it was starting to feel a bit on the cool side. After being subjected to Century High Temperatures for the better part of the summer waking to 57 F (14 C) was a little cool. Even the Golfers were wearing Long Pants and Jackets.

Being up shortly after 7:00 we took our time reading at the Computers enjoying our warm beverage of the day. Kathy checked the Radar before I did today and was concerned over the huge Storm Front that was heading our way. I had looked at the Forecast and there was no mention of any Rain until tomorrow morning.

We were out the door before 10:00 headed towards Windsor with a list of errands we needed to accomplish. Our first stop was The Glass Master to pick up the Truck. When we arrived, Matt was there by himself and didn’t know how to run the Computer for the payment. Ed had stepped out to lend a hand on another job. We said we’d be back later to pick it up. That actually meant we didn’t have to worry about parking the Truck someplace while we ran the other errands.

Windsor Gas and Diesel was our next stop to pay for the repairs to the Truck. I also got some information from Jim about other repairs he had said might need to be done next spring when we come back from the southwest.

Stopping at Guardian Storage we picked up our Mail before going to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to pick up our Carpet Shampooer. Kathy wants clean carpets before we hit the road this fall.

Heading up to the Tecumseh Mall we stopped at the TD Bank to make a transaction. There were about four people ahead of us but we were done in less than Ten Minutes.

Since it was already 11:00 we planned on having lunch so we drove to Picway Plaza. After we parked we saw that Fabric Land was across the lot so we walked over. We were looking for Twist Pins to the replace some that just gave out. When the clerk scanned the Barcode on the package, it showed $274.99. Talk about inflation. Shaking her head, the clerk retrieved another package that scanned $2.74.  Much more reasonable.

We walked over to Wendy’s where we had a tasty and satisfying lunch from the Value Menu that cost us all of $7.19 for the both of us.

We stopped at the Credit Union next to finish our Banking for the day. Some might ask why we didn’t just do that all On-Line? For any Electronically Transferred Funds other then Pay-Cheques the Credit Union charges a Transfer Fee. Dumb way to lose customers.

Our next stop was The Windsor Eye Institute for my One-Week Follow-Up Appointment. My left eye checked out fine but my right eye which was the first one done is not so good. I was actually going blind Twenty Years ago but with Lasik Surgery it helped retain my sight. That same Surgery is now the cause of the problem I’m having now. We’ll see what happens when I see my Optometrist in a month. As for Kathy’s Floater they recommend against using Visine after Eye Surgeries because it makes the Tear Ducts lazy so they gave us something else to try.

We headed across town to the Windsor Rehabilitation Center to visit with Vera. Most places we went to today still have their Air Conditioning Units turned on because of the High Temperatures we were getting. We walked into Vera’s room to find her in bed under the covers in an attempt to warm up. It was cold in that place but we still visited for a couple of hours. When we left we wished we’d had our Jackets because there was a Cold North Wind blowing and it felt colder than when we got up this morning.

We headed back to The Glass Master to pick up the Truck. Ed explained to us how the Insurance Companies lobby the government to allow them to change our Deductibles without letting us know.

We drove to the Zehrs Great Canadian Store to pick up a few items that we had missed earlier this week.

They surprisingly didn’t carry any Carpet Shampoo so for that we drove across the street to Canadian Tire where we found it quite easily.

We were both starting to feel Lite-Headed and when we realized that it had been Seven Hours since our lunch. Being that A&W was on the edge of the parking lot we went there to eat. It had been a while since we’ve eaten there but it was still good.

When we got Home after 7:00 we had to play catch-up on missed Eyedrops and supper Pills. Kathy’s Eyes feel better with the new Drops. We had two choices because the wind was so cold either we put on warmer clothes or close the Windows. We can open the Windows in the morning but we’ll feel toasty tonight. We were so busy with our errands we forgot to take any pictures today. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  2. That was a lot of stops!! whew...Bet you were glad to get back to your own home! Hopefully your eye issues can be taken care of, I know Ken's eye where he's had all the issues, seems one fix leads to another problem. Sounds like your weather is cooling off, Fall is in the air!!
