It was
still fairly close to the Century Mark
when we went to bed last night so we thought it better to leave the AC on. By the time we got up this
morning it felt great knowing that we could open the Windows to finally allow fresh air into the trailer.
We
settled in at the Computers to do
our usual reading. As always, the first thing I look at on the Computer is The Weather
Network to see what lies ahead for
us. With the forecast and Radar showing
Afternoon Rain I cut my reading
short and headed outside to mow the grass while it was dry. By the time I finished
all the trimming and cleaning up it felt like there was moisture in the air but
nothing was appearing on the Car.
Back
inside I did a little more reading before making a call to The Glass Master in Windsor. Back when we were in Quartzsite last January a Stone
from a passing Dump-Truck not only
chipped but cracked the windshield on the Truck. With Ontario requiring us to have a yearly Safety Inspection and the Crack
passing in the path of the Wipers we
have to get it replaced. When I mentioned the Truck was at Windsor Gas and Diesel and I was in McGregor Matt said he could pick it
up because it wasn’t that far away.
Now I
had to call Jim at Windsor Gas and Diesel to let him know that Matt was going to
pick the Truck up to replace the Windshield.
Since I haven’t paid his bill yet I offered to give him my Credit Card information over the phone but he just said he’d wait
until I got to town. Nice to be trusted.
I started
sorting the Laundry which is so much
easier to do at Home then doing it in a public building.
Kathy was busy getting our early lunch ready, serving us Chicken with Homemade
Cranberry Sauce, Greek Pasta Salad,
Tomatoes and an Applesauce Cup for dessert.
After
stopping at the Trash and Recycle Area to contribute to the cause I arrived at
the Park Laundry Room by 12:30 and the place was packed with
every machine in use. There were Five others
there so the best I could do was wait it out. After Ten Minutes I had Three
Washers to myself but had to wait a Half
an Hour before any Dryers became
available. Luckily after I arrived nobody else showed up until just before I left.
Arriving
back Home at 3:30 I simply put the Laundry inside and went back outside to
drain and flush our Waste Tanks. The
sky was overcast but nothing threatening. I managed to finish my chore without a
single bit of moisture contacting me. Kathy had been busy cleaning and treating
the Wood Finish inside the Trailer.as well as making data entries on
our Expenditure Spreadsheet.
I
realized that I had not notified our Insurance
about the Windshield so I gave
them a call. When we went Fulltime
back in 2016 only Wayfarer Insurance would cover us without a permanent
address. When I found out what my Comprehensive
Deductible is it shocked me. It’s cheaper for me to pay for the repair
myself but I’ll be negotiating a lower Deductible
for the future.
After
we put the clothes away we started putting supper together. Since we made the Homemade Sauce the other day Kathy cooked
up some Spaghetti while she had me
putting together a couple of Strawberry
Shortcakes for our dessert. As usual, everything tasted wonderful and since
Kathy keeps our Pasta intake down we
were well satisfied without being stuffed.
We
haven’t gotten any Rain yet today
and we’ll be sleeping with the Windows open
tonight. We’ve got a busy day going tomorrow and the weather will be perfect. Thank you for following along and feel free
to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Words of Inspiration
In endowing us with memory,
nature has revealed to us a truth utterly unimaginable to the unreflective
creation, the truth of immortality.
George Santayana, Spanish Philosopher
You're definitely getting things done! Nice you were able to mow before any rain hit. It is nice that your garage trusts you..what a good feeling that must be! Have you tried spaghetti squash with spaghetti sauce? We love it so much we don't even eat pasta anymore (except in macaroni salad) haha.
ReplyDeleteYeah those insurance deductibles can be high. With so many broken RV windshields, I keep my deductible low. I'm sure I'll need it sooner or later.
