Christmas Visit and Celebration.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Yes the hidden stress of travel is approaching let alone the Christmas celebrations that are keeping us awake most of the night. Finally at 7:00 I just had to get up and start getting things ready for breakfast before I settled into the recliner to watch the seven day forecast for the Essex county region. By the time Kathy got up just before 8:00 I was feeling a lot better about leaving on Friday. There may be a few flurries tomorrow Christmas Day but the rest of the week will be dry and there should be no wind for the first day of our departure.
Jen trying to open her gift basket amongst the chaos. Must be a Mom.
Again for breakfast we managed to clean out another container of cereal out of the pantry. This means less chance of waste for when we return in April. Once the breakfast dishes were washed and put away Kathy headed to the computers while I took my morning shower and shave.
Gary enjoying his Gift Basket.
It wasn’t long before we left to go to Staples because I needed to find a white China Marker so I can outline the bottom panel of the trailer before I fasten on the new access door. Strangely there was only one package left and it contained twelve markers but I’ll get my project and many others completed. We continued walking around to kill off some time before finally leaving to drive the one block down to Pizza Hut.
Emma with her new purse.
We had made reservations to meet our son Gary and daughter-in-law Jen with the kids for our Christmas lunch today. The traffic was totally crazy out there today to the point where I witnessed one person that was fed up waiting for the traffic to clear that he actually drove his SUV over the ten inch center median to make a U-turn.
Connor with his new RC Truck.
Gary was on time and we had a chance to visit while enjoying our salads before the Crunchy Cheesy Bites pizzas arrived. Unfortunately both Haigan and Connor had left their appetites at home and barely ate which is totally strange for six and eight year old boys. Judging from their appetites in the past I’d had Kathy order three large pizzas. Guess what we’ll be snacking on during our drive down to Florida.

If you recall the last few days I mentioned about having problems posting the blog. Well here I am snapping pictures at the restaurant when a message appeared informing me there was no SD card in the camera. Even though I’ve read many posts saying the same thing this was a first for me and I felt dumbfounded.

This church is on the Historical Building list built in the late 1800's
We returned to the apartment where we exchanged gifts and the boys were really happy with their RC trucks (Batteries Included) they received but were disappointed when dad said the batteries would wait until they got home. Everyone was very surprised because they all got what they wanted and needed. More visiting continued until they had to leave to go to Jen’s parents’ home to get ready for the Christmas Eve Service that Emma our granddaughter was going to be singing at.
Our Granddaughter Emma doing her Solo.
After recycling wrapping paper and boxes we relaxed a few minutes before having a light supper of pizza. We arrived at the church before 6:30 and the place was nearly packed. The choir did a beautiful job of the hymns but Emma did such a great job on the Solos that it brought tears to Gary’s eyes. When we gave our hugs and handshakes goodbye there were a couple of sleepy-eyed little guys wanting to get to bed early because they said Santa was coming tonight.
Four month old Austin slept through the entire service.
Merry Christmas and Peace on Earth.
From Kathy and I we would like to wish all our readers and their Families a Merry Christmas and hope you’ll all be together for this very special Holiday. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
