Exploring as the Storm went South.

Our Location today is Mims, Florida.

Last night we went to bed expecting to be awakened by heavy rain and wind in our area but when I got up at 7:30 the sun was shining with only a few clouds in the sky. At 8:00 when Kathy got up the entire sky was filled with menacing clouds. One of our former camp hosts had told us that even if the prediction said 100% chance of rain here in Florida chances were good that we wouldn’t get any.
The spot just off center is NASA's assembly building at Kennedy Space Center.
After having breakfast and reading the morning blogs we decided to explore Titusville. We needed hair cuts and a few supplies so we weren’t going to stay in the trailer because there was a chance we’d get rain. We set the GPS for our destination but on the screen all the roads turned blue with no arrow or explanation as to which way to go. Kathy got upset (rightfully so) that it wasn’t working so I asked “where are the maps?” Back at the trailer and we left for the second time heading for Titusville.
Weather not too promising.
Without looking at the map I knew we were north of our destination so we took I-95 south until we came to the second exit for Titusville. That GPS never spoke to us once or gave us a hint where to go. After getting into an industrial park we turned around and headed back towards the highway. Low and behold through the spacing in the trees that we could not see from the other direction we spot a Walmart.
Within an hour we were leaving Walmart with a few groceries, some housewares and we’d both gotten our hair cut. Now it was time for lunch and we wanted something light and different so we went across the street to Taco Bell. We both tried their new Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos special. Besides enjoying a tasty light lunch we had a chance to people watch and talk about things we wanted to see and do.
We cruised around town turning this way and that way before we saw a Sears mall. Since the skies were still menacing we decided to look around. Kathy is a very smart shopper whether it is for groceries, home furnishings or clothes. Since we arrived in Florida back in January she has been looking for a top that would go with a certain pair of capris. Well today was her luck day. She always feels guilty when I’m with her about the time it takes because she won’t buy unless she tries it on; but like I have told her she has to feel comfortable in it and it’s better to be with her shopping than sitting at home doing nothing. “It’s about time” for being with her more.
Looks like a family tree.
We continued driving along the coast until we decided it was time to head back to the trailer.  I told Kathy to try the GPS to see if it would work. It must have returned from the vacation it was on this morning because it worked exactly the way it was supposed to; almost. Back at the trailer I replaced our battery clock on the wall and added our RV Camper’s Prayer as well.
Chicken with Sauted Spinach and Peach Pie.
Our Sunset tonight.
Tonight we couldn’t see the sun setting because of the heavy cloud cover and the News reported that the storm we were supposed to get today went south of us so we remained dry. Tomorrow is supposed to be another stormy day but like today we might have another adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
