More Hurdles, Recalculating and Visiting.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Yesterday we’d received a notice that Electricians would be entering our apartment for the purpose of adding a transformer to our breaker box. Having worked with and being a friend with many other people in industrial trades I often had the opportunity to learn things that I shouldn’t have. Armed with technical logic I asked the assistant building manager why and how big this thing was supposed to be because our breaker panel is mounted inside our Pantry which happened to be very full. By the time I’d returned to the apartment Kathy had half the pantry emptied and I had to tell her to stop. The new building owners want to set up meters for each apartment where they can be read as a group not in each apartment which would mean installing them in the control room where the power feed is not in the apartment.
The notice indicated we could expect a visit between 9:00 this morning all the way until 5:00 this afternoon. (Sounds like some furniture delivery companies to me.) We were up by 8:00 and had finished breakfast, getting dressed and enjoying our morning coffees at the computers by 9:00. By 10:30 Kathy was back to sewing the first set of curtain tiebacks until we stopped for lunch.
When it came to making the tiebacks for the bedroom she wanted to make them slightly longer than originally planned. It was nearly 2:00 by the time we finished cutting the last six pieces when our power was shut off. This fell more in line to what I had tried to explain what would happen to not only Kathy but to Chris as well. There were no electricians in our apartment and all the changes were taking place in the main control room. It was nearly 2:30 when the power was restored and we were able to continue sewing our tiebacks.
When we had first calculated the material we needed for this project we had enough but by making them longer we soon ended up with a piece of trim that was now two inches too short. Shortly after 4:00 while Kathy continued sewing I had to run a few errands. The first was to check if we had mail at Guardian Storage. The next stop was at Fabricland where I purchased a fifteen-inch piece of trim so that we’ll be able to finish the last of the tiebacks. My last stop was at Arby’s where I used a coupon to order our supper at a reduced price. Kathy was still sewing when I walked in with supper but immediately called it a day so we could eat.

As soon as we finished eating we were on our way to Amherstburg for our weekly visit with our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa. The drive there and back were picture perfect with just a light touch of clouds and close to normal temperatures. Melissa had read the blog from last week and only brought out tea for refreshments and admitted that they could use less See Food as well. We had our usual fun filled conversation that guaranteed a few laughs for everyone. We still plan on making our visits because we enjoy your company Kevin and Melissa.
Our drive home.
Back at the apartment Kathy contemplated getting back to her sewing but without the sun giving extra brightness it would be difficult to see what she needed. (In other words the lighting in our apartment Sucks.) Tomorrow we are looking forward to wrapping up this project and getting more packing completed all in an effort to starting our Fulltiming Adventure. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
