Stressful Day, Satisfactory Results.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After having gotten up early yesterday due to a malfunctioning sensor that set the fire alarms off in the building we had only one problem. This morning our bodies were telling the both of us that 7:30 was the time we should be getting up. The sky was cloud covered and the temperatures cold so all we could do was pick up where we left off.
After further discussion about our old Insurance Company not wanting to insure any of our belongings unless we had an actual physical address it was an easy choice of what we had to do. There was no way we were giving up our dream just because of a corporate decision that we should be nailed to down to paying for a home we didn’t want or need and spend our earnings on something other than what we wanted. We’d had breakfast, straightened up the apartment and finished our morning reading all by 9:00 this morning. That was the time I was calling Wayfarer Insurance Company back to finish setting up our new insurance coverages.
The day would be spent scanning documents we had on file, gathering other vital information and filling in forms that were E-mailed to us. At times it felt like we were fighting with our computers as they decided to work at a snail’s pace. Getting up early this morning and the mental stress became more than Kathy could stand forcing her to have an afternoon Snap. It was 4:00 by the time the last E-message had been sent and we still needed to get back to Wendy to insure the contents of our Storage Unit.
After a quick phone call to say we were on our way we arrived at Guardian Storage by 4:30. With only a few interruptions we managed to compose an approximate list of our belongings and sign the appropriate papers all by 5:00. We learned as we were about to leave that it was a good thing we had come in today because Wendy is leaving for a two-and-a-half-week vacation starting tomorrow and Carol doesn’t do the insurance policies.
Knowing that all our insurance needs are now taken care of and we were starting to feel hungry we used a coupon and enjoyed a tasty meal at Arby’s for our supper. We didn’t take too long to eat because the weather forecast was for a messy mix of rain, freezing rain and snow this evening and we had someplace to be.
Since our daughter-in-law Melissa had to work over last evening we delayed our weekly visit to today. It was nearly 6:00 when we arrived at Kevin and Melissa’s out in Amherstburg. While Kathy went inside to start visiting with Melissa, Kevin an I went outside to do some measuring. He recently noticed the asphalt shingles on the garage roof were starting to show signs of wear. After a couple of quick measurements, we were able to calculate the materials needed to fix it when the weather improves. I also picked up a bicycle rack that I had made for our old Cougar fifth wheel. With some minor modifications I’m certain it will work better than any store bought rack will do for us.
The rest of the evening was spent visiting and watching the weather change before our eyes. One minute it was raining then snowing and then back to a drizzle. We still had a visit filled with love and laughter. The roads were clear for our drive home. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
