Finishing Packing The Inside Of The Trailer.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Even though we were aware that the temperature was not going to be too warm today we knew we had to completely empty the inside of the Trailer today. After breakfast we limited ourselves to only an Hour on our Computers in order to be out the door by 10:00.

We decided to take the Car knowing how much we have hauled in it in the past. Arriving at Guardian Storage we had to go through the Main Gate because I forgot the Remote Gate Opener in the Truck. We started in the Bedroom emptying the contents we had stored under the Bed. That was a chore in itself just to get that all packed but we managed to have the Car stuffed to capacity before lunch.

Locking the Trailer we then drove to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit for Two Reasons. The first was to add the Storage Bins and Boxes to other items we have stored there. The second was to warm ourselves up slightly since the Unit is maintained around 60 F (15.5 C) year round which was a lot better then the 36 F (2 C) outside.

We found our way over to Burger King where we used Coupons to try some of their newer offerings. What may be good for others was not to our liking so we’ll go back to their Tried and True Menu.

Back at the Trailer we were in the final stages of cleaning up inside separating some items that would come to the Apartment while more was heading to the Storage Unit.

We are learning that since we’ve gone South for a few Winters that when the Temperature stays as low as it is with High Humidity and a Northeast Wind we are getting chilled quite quickly. By 2:00 we once again needed to take a break.
We again drove to the nearby Tim Horton’s for Coffee and a Reindeer Donut for a snack. We also took advantage by seeking comfort from the cold for a short time.

Back at the Trailer while I loaded the last of our belongings from inside Kathy busied herself stripping the Bedding and sweeping all the Dirt that we’ve been tracking in throughout this process. With a final stop at the Storage Unit we were finally leaving for the day.
Inside is Empty, Basement Half.
The raise Solar Panels are keeping our Batteries topped up.
We were both Chilled and Hungry so we stopped at the Michigan Diner on Tecumseh Road to have supper. We each ordered their Perch Dinner with Onion Rings rather then Fries. The Perch was delicious as were the Onion Rings but there were so many we filled a Food Box to take home with us.

I dropped Kathy off at the Front Entrance to our Apartment Building because the Cold Wind makes it hard for her to breath. After parking the Car I carried the Laundry Basket with the Bed Sheets from the trailer upstairs. When I got to our floor there were Two Shopping Carts just outside the Elevators. Using the largest it only took One more load to bring everything in. We’ll go through what we brought up tomorrow.
It felt good just to sit where we were not cold but comfortable. We watched the 6 o’clock Local News as well as another Hallmark Christmas Movie. Our Christmas Cactus Flower is continuing to bloom.
With Rain forecasted overnight into the morning we are not sure what we’ll be up to tomorrow. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Lots Of Small Delays Making For A Long Day.

Why is it that when you really want to get things done early in the day that is the morning you sleep in. We both got up around 8:30 this morning even though we managed to get to bed earlier last night. By the time we ate breakfast, drank our Coffee/Tea at the Computers and checked just the necessities it was after 11:00 by the time we headed out the door. Some of those necessities included looking inside the Fridge to see what we could eat for lunch other then Soup. Finding nothing that could be cooked in Ten Minutes or less we opted to have lunch out.
Our first stop was Harvey’s where we were able to save some cash by using a Coupon. We had their Angus Beef Burgers with Onion Rings and Soft Drinks.

We were within a Thousand Feet of our destination when our Truck decided it was time to begin a Regen. Anyone with a Newer Diesel knows that when the Regen process starts you just have to keep driving or your Diesel Particulate Filter will plug up and you will be stranded by the roadside. Kathy insisted that I run it even though we were not on the Highway the County Roads and non-stop stretches helped the Truck clean its Filter.

We arrived at the Trailer in the Guardian Storage yard just before noon. Since it was so cold I turned the Propane Tanks on before going inside. As soon as we had the One Slide opened and I connected the Blue Flame Heater then Tried and Tried and Tried to get the Pilot to light but nothing. The Cook Stove lit immediately but not the Blue Flame Heater.

We started packing our Clothes from the Cabinet and the Closet but after a while we were so cold it was getting uncomfortable to work. I tried lighting the Blue Flame again with repeated frustration as it failed to light. After covering the Summer Clothes we had on Hangers with Large Plastic Bags I loaded them in the Truck.
We were practically frozen so decided that we needed to warm up. We drove to the new Tim Horton’s not far away. The hot Coffees along with their seasonal Reindeer Donuts did the trick to get the chill out of our bodies and re-energize us.

Going to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit we were able to use the empty space on our Clothing Racks to add the Summer Clothes we had just taken from the Trailer. While we were at it we gathered the last of the Empty Storage Bins from our Storage Unit so we could continue packing.
More Christmas Cactus Flower Pictures.
Back inside the Trailer the Blue Flame Heater still refused to Light. That’s what I get for making certain to drain the Propane Lines when I winterized the Trailer. We did managed to load more Containers of Winter Clothes in the Truck before we just could not take the cold anymore. Maybe by leaving the Propane Tank turned on overnight it will light the next time we are there.

After closing up the Trailer we headed for the Apartment but realized we didn’t have anything to cook there either. When I suggested trying to duplicate the Pizza that we had Thirty Days ago Kathy was game.
We stopped at Domino’s Pizza and while Kathy stayed in the Truck I placed our order. A Crispy Thin Crust with Mushrooms, Onions, Green Olives, Black Olives, Tomatoes, Red Peppers and Bacon. While it was cooking I checked out their menu and found I could have gotten a Vegetarian Pizza with more on it and simply added Bacon to it at a lower price.

Back in the Apartment we enjoyed our second meal of the day and we were not stuffed by a lot of bread. With no Shopping Carts downstairs I hand carried the Storage Bins upstairs via the Elevator.
We took the time to watch the 6 o’clock Local News before heading out again. We went to a nearby No-Frills to get the Groceries on our List. This store did not have Half of what the Amherstburg or Essex locations carried. We then stopped at a Metro grocery store and got a few more items. By this time Kathy was feeling worn out so we headed back to the Apartment. We had brought our Two Wheel Shopping Cart so there was no problem getting everything upstairs.

With everything put away we watched yet another Hallmark Christmas Movie. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Clean Up Chores, Adding The Pictures, Improving Supper and More Hallmark Movies.

After barely getting the Blog posted before Midnight last night it’s hard to believe that I would spend another Hour Plus reading other Blogger’s Posts. Of course I paid for it by getting up at 9:00 this morning. Not good if I want to train myself to get up early for workdays.
Look at all the leaves in our parking lot.
Notice all the bare trees from yesterday's high winds.
With the heavy Cloud Cover we didn’t have to worry about the Sun peaking past our Window Blinds in the morning and waking us up. That really cut into our morning’s reading time because today was the one where we just had to get certain things accomplished.
After having Split Pea Soup along with Crackers and Cheese for lunch with a Plum as well as Leftover Chocolates that someone had given us for dessert we had the energy we needed to dig into our chores.
The clouds filled the sky all day
Kathy started her chores by doing the Dishes claiming the Warm Water helps her Arthritic Hands while I had to sort the Laundry. All mundane sounding things to do but all a necessary part of life.

Kathy moved on to start sorting the Bags and Boxes of things we brought to the Apartment from the Trailer. Sometimes she would ask herself what was she thinking to have brought them here but not that often.
The lights were turning on at 4:00 in the afternoon again.
By getting in the Laundry Room early enough I had the choice of Washers to use. Rather then waiting around I walked up Six Flights of Stairs and went back to our apartment to make up our Bed. By the time I finished that I walked back down the stairs making it just on time to start moving the Clothes to the Dryers. Again I had my choice of Machines and was once again climbing those Six Flights of Stairs back to the Apartment. I’ll probably feel this in the next day or so but I used to do many more steps years ago.

Heading back to the Laundry Room after doing some work on the Computer I again walked down the stairs. Once the Laundry was all folded I returned with it to the Apartment using the Elevator. It will be a while before I can carry it up the Stairs that many flights.
Celery Root and Pacific Salmon.
Shortly after getting all our clothing put away Kathy and I started getting ready to make supper. Tonight we had Pacific Salmon and Celery Root. Cleaning the Celery Root and boiling it was no problem but since we are still not totally organized we found out that we were missing a few ingredients. With a little substitution we made it work and we still enjoyed a tasty meal.

We managed to watch another couple of Hallmark Christmas Movies this evening.
The latest picture of our Christmas Cactus Flower.
As promised while having a break from the Laundry today I managed to add a few Pictures to the Blog Posts where I was having trouble uploading Pictures. If you want to take a quick peek I have the links right here. Organized, Rebuilt and Recorded. as well as Change Of Plans, Oops, Unbelievable and More Christmas Shows. There’s not much but it adds to the post.

Kathy and I hope that all our American Followers and Readers along with their Families had the chance to enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving today.

With the drop in temperature we’ll be limiting our time cleaning up the rest of our things at the Trailer but we want to finish it before the forecasted SXXW we’ll be getting. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
