What A Difference A Night Makes.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It was past midnight when I was about to lean back in my Recliner last night, when Kathy came out to see when I was going to Bed. Figuring that my Shoulder Pain would disappear in an Hour, that was what I said. The next time I saw her, she was headed to the Bathroom, so I went to Bed, where she found me when she returned. I could tell she was not fully awake because when she padded the Bed and felt my presence, it took nearly a Minute before she lay down.

Again, we both slept in late so by the time I had our breakfast snack ready Kathy was already at the table, when I asked her about going to the Bathroom last night. She did not remember. That was the same thing she said yesterday. Her excuse is she does not remember things she does, when she is sleeping.

At the Computers, while looking over my E-Reading, I also made a call to our Financial Advisor. He is away with his children for another week, but if I wanted to meet with one of his assistants. I made an appointment for his return.

Kathy suddenly could not get into her Computer, so it took me nearly an Hour just to get her Logged-In. I had set up all her programs on Shortcuts but now I had to go digging through other Programs to bring them up. That is okay because she keeps looking at Clothes and Shoes. When I asked, she said she was just looking. I’ll try to reset it again later. Since it was a late breakfast, we had a late light lunch by sharing a Store-Bought Italian Pasta Salad. It did the trick.

Back at the Computers, I made another call to wish my sister Anna a Belated Happy Birthday. Luckily her daughter and grandchildren took her out for lunch. She reads the Blog and knows what is happening at this end.

I had just said goodbye when our granddaughter Kylla called to speak to her Gramma. Even on a bad day, Kathy’s face just lights up whenever Kylla calls. Kathy is also very proud of everything she has accomplished for herself.

We headed out soon after but with a 99 F (37 C) Humidex, Kathy waited by the rear entrance for me to bring the Car around. With the main objective of going for a walk, we headed for the Tecumseh Mall. Not only has Kathy been browsing Shoes On-Line but she has complained to me about her shoes bothering her. When I suggest she get another pair, she says there is nothing wrong with her old shoes. Our first stop was The Shoe Company, where they were in the process of taking Summer Wear off the shelves by discounting them by 20%. Kathy must have tried on Ten Pair, but she kept saying that they just did not feel right. That was when I noticed she was not wearing any socks. I went to the counter and asked for a pair of Trial Sockets. The next pair of shoes she tried were perfect. (They were the first pair she tried when we walked in the store.)

I had Kathy wait on a bench inside the Mall, while I put her new Shoes in the Car. We stopped at Shoppers Drug Mart to get some Stamps before walking over to Freedom Mobile. This is the company we went to, when our previous carrier Bell, kept charging more while reducing our services. Even after the mandatory period expired, we are still paying less for Two Phones with more services than Bell was charging for One. Today I was there to get more information about their Internet/Television packages. Our present provider, Cogeco has more than doubled in price in Six Years. Now I just need to have someone tell me if we have a Smart Television or not. Everything is going up, but not our Pensions.

We had barely walked back into the Mall when Kathy said she was hungry. With Wendy’s being right across the Street, guess where we ate. Looks like we’ll be eating what I planned to cook for yesterday’s supper, for tomorrow’s supper.

I dropped Kathy at the front entrance before parking the Car and bringing her New Shoes in. After I placed them on the table, Kathy immediately put them in the Bedroom. We watched the “6 o’clock Local News” before watching a few episodes of “Law and Order, Special Victims”.

It was at that point that Kathy headed off to Bed. Seconds later she came out of the Bedroom with her New Shoes asking where they came from. When I told her that she bought them today, her eyes lit up as she asked, “I did?”

We are expecting a Wet Long Weekend.

Getting Up On The Wrong Side Of The Bed.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

When I tipped back in my Recliner last night, I was certain that it was going to get a good night’s sleep. After being in Bed for close to an Hour my Shoulder and Neck Pain became so intense I had to sit on the edge to regain my balance, before going to take another Extra Strength Tylenol. I have mentioned how Kathy taps my side of the bed with her hand to know if I’m there while she is sleeping. When she sensed me sitting there in Pain, she tried making me lay down but I resisted. Still asleep, she suddenly thought that she needed to go to the Bathroom by climbing over me, on my side of the Bed, while still connected to her CPAP Machine. She started waving her arms around as if she was in a large Spider Web, so before disaster struck, I pulled her Mask off, led her around the Bed to the Bathroom. I then idled her Machine, just on time to guide her back to Bed. She did not remember anything about that happening this morning, because she was asleep when it happened. The Title of this post was something my Father used to say while I was growing up and fit this post to a T.

After having our breakfast snack and taking our Coffees to our Computers, I thought of a different way to make our lunch. Occasionally I see pictures of Food on Television, in Magazines or on Blogs as ideas. One of the things I try to use are ingredients that we have on hand. Today we had a Salad, topped with Canned Salmon. After we finished eating, I asked the best cook that I know for opinions, before running some Ideas of how to make improvements. I received a passing grade but will add some Relish to my mix the next time. I have made a good Tartar for making Sandwiches, but this could have had just a bit more flavour and moisture.

After having a couple of Cookies to offset the good of the Salad, we headed out to do some shopping.

Our first stop was Dollarama, to restock on our Breakfast Juice and Carbonated Soda. Kathy’s taste has changed from Carbonated Iced Tea to Seven-Up. Sorry but I’m not into it. Kathy also wanted new Calendars for the Apartment. Since they normally come out near the end of August, we walked out empty handed.

Not letting up on getting Calendars we even tried going to Walmart, only to have the same result. We finally got lucky by going to Staples, but they were costly. $$$$.

Suddenly we were hungry and did not want the same old, so we headed to Popeye’s for supper. When it came to ordering, Kathy was hungry, but I had to finish her sandwich along with mine.

Because of the high Humidex of 93 F (34 C) it was not hard to convince Kathy to be let off at the front entrance. I used our Folding Two-Wheeled Shopping Cart to bring up our purchases.

The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” showed a mostly Wet Long Weekend for our area.

We also watched another documentary about Dinosaurs” along with “Animals of the East Coast”, both narrated by Tom Hanks.

Kathy’s already in Bed. Hopefully she will stay there until morning.

Better Day But Still Adjusting Medications.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Two Nights in a row and we’re hoping to make it Three. Earlier today I noted that Kathy was taking the same medication that I am taking at bedtime with her evening meal. She still feels a lot of discomfort in her Shoulders just like I do and that is what that medication is meant to prevent. I thought by taking it so early could have lost the time of effectiveness through the night, basically making it useless later. I explained my theory to Kathy this morning, this evening and again before she headed off to Bed just hoping she understands. I’m not worried about changing the time, because I take double the dose of the same thing, before I call it a night. It is still not strong enough but I am not going to push it.

We had Cereal for breakfast before heading to our Computers. After checking The Weather Network I went about checking E-mails then our Banking. I along with many other Canadians look forward to this time of month, when our Old Age and Canadian Pension Cheques are deposited into our accounts. It makes having more month at the end of money easier to handle.

Lunch was Tomato and Mozzarella Cheese Sandwiches along with Watermelon chunks for dessert.

Soon after we were heading out the door, to take care of the in-person errands. The first was collecting our Mail at Guardian Storage. Some of that Mail would later raise questions that a call to our Financial Advisor will be needed to clarify them with.

The next stop was the Credit Union to take care of some monthly payments that have to be done in person. That took care of Half, but we still had to wiggle our way through the start of Rush Hour Traffic. It does not help it includes turning at one of the busiest intersections in the City.

Stopping at the Bank Kathy waited in the Car while I finished the second Half of our payments, all because of a policy, that will not allow them to transfer monies between institutions.

By that time, I was feeling hungry and did not feel like going home to cook. Oh, look we’re almost across the street from Wendy’s and we still have Coupons. Rather than snack later, we enjoyed a filling meal.

We were on our way home when our daughter Karen called. Not quick enough to answer, Kathy called her back. Kathy walked in with me after I parked the Car.

Even after hearing the Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” saying that we will have clear weather until the weekend and my Radar confirmed that, Kathy found a Three-Year-Old Alert saying a Tornado was on the way, and we had to take cover.

We later watched “Chicago Med, “Chicago Fire” andChicago P.D.” handling a single case as a team.

Kathy has already taken her medication before going to Bed and I hope to be there soon.

We’ll be busy again tomorrow.
