Time Machine.

Well last night was a complete reversal of what I had been trying to accomplish. In the end, only a quarter of my night was spent in Bed. The good thing was that I felt well rested the rest of the day. I also managed to sleep in a bit longer, so by the time I had connected to The Weather Network this morning, Kathy had already came out to join me.

The outside temperature was all we really needed to know, because the Southwest Wind was already rattling the Privacy Panel against the Balcony Rail. Since the sky was totally cloud covered and there were puddles all over the parking lot, we knew what kind of day we would have.

We started our day very light, having only Breakfast Juice for our Medications, then Yogurt Cups. Our Coffees did come to our Computers.

Kathy as a retired Bookkeeper/Accountant, has always taken care of our Income Tax Returns. Lately, numbers have become confusing to her, so she has handed over that duty to me. I started going through a pile of paper, much of which had nothing to do with our Taxes. Some were Advertisements, Bank Statements, Grocery Receipts and out of date Coupons. I now have the Tax Information separated and will wait until next week to take them to our Accountant. In the meantime, I still have a lot of reading to do.

We enjoyed Grilled Cheese Sandwiches for lunch before going back to our Computers.

The sky never cleared all day, but the pavement started to dry. The Wind calmed enough that we reached 75 F (24 C) this afternoon.

We actually ate Grilled Ham, Sauteed Asparagus and Potato Slices for supper, before the “6 o’clock Local News” came on. We are forecasted to have Rain for the next Six Days, but after looking at the Radar, we might get half of the forecast.

All we had left for dessert tonight, were a few Cookies. We definitely have to go shopping tomorrow.

I closed up the paperwork for the night and will get back to it this week.

This is not the first time that someone has suggested we write about some of our past adventures. Especially since the only thing we are writing about at this time, is our Health Issues. Many of the Blogs we read on our Sidebar, are doing exactly that. It will be our Time Machine by bringing back Memories for us and we can also Dream of new adventures we hope to take in the future. Exactly what Jeremy Irons on our Sidebar said.

A word of warning to those who easily fall victim to Practical Jokes, tomorrow is April Fools Day. Trust nobody.

Tests, Errands and Late Delivery.

I am certain that many of you are getting tired of reading about our sleep issues and you might even consider just skipping the Blog entirely. Unfortunately, this is a part of our lives that we would also prefer that we would not have to live with, but must. Writing this Blog, gives us the reminder of what we went through on those particular days.

Last night was another back and forth between my Two CPAP Machines with the Bedroom location getting the highest time. Unfortunately, that time was not all sleep time, simply time connected to the Machines. The fact that I needed to add another Extra Strength Tylenol for the Shoulder Pain and a Half Dose of ZzzQuil sleep aide.

I was up by 7:15 and after turning on my Computer, washed up the Dishes I had left behind while watching the movie last night. Back at my Computer, I checked The Weather Network and my E-Mail. We could expect a wonderful day, with above seasonal temperatures and a message showed that Supplements I ordered just yesterday, were scheduled for delivery today.

When Kathy joined me, the only thing we had this morning was our Medications, before getting ready to leave. She had a hard time believing that it was already 57 F (14 C) outside at that time.

The Northwest Wind did add a bit of a bite, but we were soon in the Car on our way to Dyna-Care laboratories in Tecumseh. Kathy needs to be checked every Two Months, to be certain that her Arthritis Medication is not affecting her Liver. We used to be able to make appointments, but that ability was discontinued in January.

It took all of Fifteen Minutes before she was finished and we were walking out. A big difference compared to the Two to Three Hour waits at their other location.

We headed to Guardian Storage to collect our Mail, but the Supplements had not been delivered.

Next we stopped at Arby’s to have Reuben Sandwiches for lunch. Wanda was happy to see us.

Driving to the far side of the parking lot, we went to the Credit Union to pay our monthly bills. Next, we had to go to the Bank to put some Eggs in our other basket.

We then made a stop at the nearby Dollarama, to pick up Cough Drops and Brisk Iced Tea, before heading for home.

We used our Folding Two Wheel Shopping Cart to bring things upstairs. The moment we walked into the Apartment, we started sweating and had to open our Balcony Door and Bedroom Window. With our heat being controlled by the Management Company in Toronto, they did not realize that 250 Miles away in Windsor our outside temperature was 73 F (28.3 C). We also had to change to our Summer Shorts to cool down.

The heat also kept our eyes opening and closing, just what we were trying to avoid. Since lunch had been so filling, we waited until the “6 o’clock Local News” was over, before sharing a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Chicken Pizza for a late supper.

We watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” before calling it a night. The Wind has picked up with a chance of Thunderstorms heading our way. Checking my E-Mail, the Supplements were delivered minutes before closing. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Good Night In Reverse.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

My aim has been to be able to sleep the entire night in Bed, and being that we were both tired from our Friday night’s sleep, I was certain it was going to happen last night. I barely spent a Half Hour in my Recliner, before going to Bed. Thinking that meant things were improving, I looked forward to waking in the morning, laying next to Kathy. Almost Ninety Minutes later, it was back to my Recliner, because of the Shoulder and Neck Pain. Oh well, it would not turn out to be what I was hoping for. Instead of finishing the night in Bed, I woke up to the Sun, lighting up the Livingroom after 8:00 this morning.

I simply started getting things ready for breakfast, before even considering waking Kathy, when she walked into the Livingroom. It was a light snack, saving our appetites for lunch.

By the time my Computer connected to The Weather Network, it showed the temperature was 39 F (4 C) with Southwest Winds. I spent the morning reading Blogs.

By noon, I started making our Italian Salads, that would hold us over for a late supper.

I have mentioned before how we are bid Fans, so when “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Firecame on, we were there to watch it.

By 5:00 the outside temperature had improved to 54 F (12 C).

It was past 7:00 when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza.

By accident last week, I found a great movie to keep us entertained, so when I saw the follow up “National Treasure: Book of Secrets was on this evening, we just had to watch it as well.

We are both hoping to have a good night’s sleep because we are definitely going to be busy tomorrow.

Rested but Tired.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Another back-and-forth night between my Recliner and Bed, that did add up to nearly Eight Hours connected to my CPAP Machines. When I got up to start getting things ready for breakfast, I had not even opened the Balcony Blinds, when Kathy came out to join me. We simply had Cereal for breakfast. Most nights, when I get to Bed, we hold hands for a short time, but when I attempt to roll to my other side due to Shoulder Pain, it is Kathy that grips my Hand tighter, not wanting me to leave. Of course when I tell her in the morning, her answer is that she does not know what she does in her sleep.

The Weather Network showed that we were below the Freezing Mark when I checked before 9:00 but with the clear skies and moderate West Winds, we made it to 45 F (7 C).

Though we both felt rested when we got up, we both felt like we could spend the rest of the day in Bed. It was past 2:00 when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza, It seems that the higher rated producers, tend to skimp the most on their ingredients. Luckily, we still had extra Pineapple and Mozzarella Cheese that we could add to it.

We managed to get quite a bit completed on our Computers today. It was past 7:30 and we still were not feeling very hungry, so we only had Four small Perogies each. Even that felt like we were stuffing ourselves, but that was all we needed for the night.

We did watch a few episodes of “Forensic Files”. These are all based on actual cases. Why are some people so evil.

The Ride Continues and Sorough Called.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Once again it was an up and down night, between my Recliner and Bed. Unfortunately, I spent more time in my Recliner. I did try to even it out a bit, by finishing the night between the sheets.

Breakfast was back to the Snack Bars and Yogurt Cups so as to not overload our stomachs. When we first looked outside, the sky was full of Clouds, and the forecast was calling for Rain. We settled in at our Computers for the remainder of the morning. By the time we were ready to head out the door at noon, all the Clouds had disappeared. What had not disappeared was the 36 F (2 C) temperature, that felt colder due to the Northwest Winds.

Going out the rear entrance to our building, anyone could see that the Recycle Bins had not been emptied.

We stopped at a Tim Horton’s coffee shop to take advantage of their Crispy Chicken Wraps for lunch. For the second time, Kathy could not finish her Wrap, so brought the rest home for an afternoon snack.

Afterwards, we had to go to Hearing Life in Tecumseh for Kathy’s Six-Month Appointment. They make certain that both Hearing Aides are working properly, by making certain there was no Wax in the tubes and recalibrating them with the Computer. Kathy said they sounded like the first day that she got them.

While inside, my Phone started ringing, but by the time I answered, he had hung up. It was Sorough, the young man with a Bad Attitude that I had mentored while working at Windsor Feedscrew. I figured that he would call back, making it Safer to drive home.

With the high cost of Gasoline, we continued our errands by following my usual errand circle. Taking the E.C. Rowe Expressway back into Windsor, we were able to see the progress that has been made on the new Banwell Road Overpass. The Contractors, have been closing the Expressway every night so they can position the Beams, without endangering anyone that would drive under under the suspended loads. The price tag for this is only Seventeen Million Dollars.

When we stopped at Guardian Storage to get our Mail the other day, the Box was empty. Today, there was quite a handful to bring home.

After dropping Kathy off at the front entrance to our building, I parked the Car before going in the rear entrance. That gave me the chance to see that the Recycle Bins had been emptied while we were gone. As soon as I walked in the Apartment, I brought our Recycle Containers downstairs. With Glass Jars and Bottles, I separate them into different Bins so they remain intact.

Finally, able to sit down. I had barely turned my Computer on, when Sorough called back. After leaving Windsor Feedscrew, he returned to St. Claire College to further become a Welder. Once he graduated, he has held a number of Welding Positions, but as he named them to me, I knew why they let him go. There are Companies out there that expect you to know how to run modern equipment, that they don’t know how to run and will not train you the Specialized Jobs. Others wait until you are about to complete your Probationary Time, then let you go, so they don’t have to pay you a higher rate. I recognized Six of the Eight Companies, that often do that their workers.

Since our Heat is now controlled from an Office in Toronto, we had to open our Balcony Door in order to stop sweating. The “6 o’clock Local News” showed the Weather Roller Coaster will continue for the next week.

We were finally starting to feel hungry, so we had Macaroni and Cheese for supper.

We then watched a few episodes of “Law and Order, Special Victims Unit”.

Not sure what we will be doing tomorrow.
