Reality Of Pain.

After having done so much welding yesterday it was no surprise that I had time to help move a few Feedscrews around this morning. Though I was not exerting myself it just seemed the Pain in my Leg was amplified. After taking an Extra Strength Tylenol, with no relief happening after an Hour, I started thinking of going home.

Suddenly there was a Touch-Up here, a Repair there and a total shank Build-Up to boot. I just focused on the tasks at hand and before I knew it the Pain had become an Ache.

I made it right to the end of the shift, before heading to Wyandotte Chiropractic Center. I discussed the way I’ve been feeling with Richard. He said it was not uncommon for this to go from bad, to good, to bad again. We looked at the chart where I could point out where the Discomfort and Pain were taking place. He noted that Pain does not always occur where the problem actually is. By the time I actually walked out, there was some spring in my step.

It was nearly 5:00 when I walked in the Apartment. We were both only slightly hungry so we shared a Store-Bought Medium Thin-Crust Three Meat Pizza for supper. It’s the perfect size to satisfy our cravings.

Kathy made it to Walmart to get her walking exercise in, and she didn’t loose her breathe.

Made Up For Yesterday.

As mentioned in yesterday’s Blog, I really had to look around for things to do at work and most had nothing to do with welding. Today everything had to do with welding, and I could not keep up.

After adding more weld to an Auger from yesterday, I was assigned the repair of its mate that the Machinists on the CNC Mill had made short as well as taking too much off the diameter. Anyone that does not know it, if you take too much material off metal and you know how to weld, it can be replaced.

I squeezed in Five Small Touch-Ups along with spending over Six Hours rebuilding the Auger. Co-workers were teasing me that they could cook a steak on it, because of the heat being emitted. Even though my T-shirt was soaking wet when I left at 3:30 my day was far from over.

After a quick call to Kathy, while I crawled along in Rush-Hour Traffic, she was able to meet me downstairs when I drove up to the building. Our first stop was Guardian Storage where we picked up the Mail, then we picked up the Mattress we had taken from the Trailer.

With the traffic continuing to crawl along, we stopped at Burger King for our supper. By the time we finished, traffic was thinning but we got stopped by a Freight Train.

Our destination was our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa’s house in Amherstburg. This Mattress, which is in perfect shape, will replace the thinner one they have in their Travel Trailer. We also enjoyed visiting for over an Hour, before I started feeling tired from my long day.

Even though tomorrow should be a normal day, it will turn into a long one.

Changes.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even though the government lifted the Coronavirus Restrictions over a Year ago, at Windsor Feedscrew, Mile continued to check everyone’s temperature at the start of the shift. Today, when we went in to be checked, everyone was told it was no longer happening. Guess that makes it official.

Since I had finished the Ten Inch Bearing on Friday, and this is the slow time of year, I was helping others between small welding jobs. I would end up doing repairs and touch-ups to Six Feedscrews and One Auger. On my Time Sheet they added up to less then Two Hours of welding, but any time Mile saw me helping others and cleaning the PTA area, he just kept going and never said a word.

There was one thing that did not change and that was the intensity of Pain in my Leg. Even though the problem is in the Hip, it reflects down my Leg itself. When it came time to leave at the end of the shift, I struggled to get in the Truck.

When I got home, the thought of sitting to relax a bit was on my mind, but before I could check the local weather report, my eyes closed for nearly Fifteen Minutes.

Kathy had been able to get her Prescriptions that she ran out of on the weekend. That happened due to the Ontario Provincial Government passing legislation that any new prescriptions would only be given as a Thirty Day Supply. That way if the patient had a Reaction to the medications, the cost was less, and there were less Opioid Overdoses from some of the pills in people’s possession. Once we are certain Kathy will continue using those Heart Medications, I will work with the Pharmacy to get them to the same renewal date. It could take a Year to accomplish but it is easier that way.

Kathy had also been busy. Using the Crock Pot, she had cooked up a Chicken and Potatoes for supper. She also added Peas as a side, while I added Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) as our drink. The meal was delicious, with plenty of Leftovers for addition meals.

Tomorrow could be busy after I get off work.

Accomplishments.

I didn’t even set the Alarm last night, but was in the Living Room before 7:00 this morning. I had the chance to get some catching up done before Kathy joined me just before 8:00.

We started our morning like yesterday with an Easy Over Egg on Toast with a Juice and our Coffees that came with us to the Computers.

I didn’t want a repeat of the problems I had with the Hip Pain, after not taking any Tylenol yesterday but I still lengthened the period of time between the doses. Setting up our Epson Salts Foot Bath helped the discomfort we were both having in our feet due to Arthritis.

We had Minestrone Soup for lunch along with the Last Strawberries and Last Date Squares for dessert.

It wasn’t much later that we were out the door heading for Guardian Storage. There was a car stopped near the Office, that followed us through the gate. We needed to make multiple stops, so he had to do the same. What he wasn’t expecting was me taking a picture of him. He suddenly made a quick turn and disappeared. I’ll send a copy of the picture to the Storage Yard staff, just in case.

Last Fall we had little time to finish the Roof Coating on our old Trailer, before delivering it to the New Owner. After that the temperature took a dive and we couldn’t work there in the cold. Today, we had to find a few things before working on the Trailer. It also gave us the chance to evaluate what else is needed to close the one down.

At the Trailer we removed the Mattress we replaced. We found a few more things we’ll need to work on to get the Trailer feeling like home for our travels. Since most donation drop-offs don’t take in things on Sundays we had to stand the Mattress in the Storage Unit for tonight.

Needing supplies we went to The Home Depot. It was cheaper for me to buy a Hundred Stainless Screws then it cost for Two Smaller Packages that only gave me Two extra screws. As all RVers know, repairs are a constant thing. Trying to climb the ladder to the roof is not on my list at the moment, especially the way my Hip reminded me.

We had Coupons to use for supper at Taco Bell. It was all good and filling, but even with the Coupons it was only a few dollars difference to eating in a Restaurant.

On the 6 o’clock Local News we were surprised to see an increase in Shootings locally. Our weather continues to improve to the point we might have to fire up the Air Conditioner before next weekend.
