Doing What’s Necessary and Kathy Missed Her Appointment.

It was a brisk 45 F (7 C) when I left for work this morning so even though I was wearing my Work Shorts I was also wearing my Sweater to keep the chill off. In days long past the Temp would have dipped below the Forty Degree Mark before I gave up my Shorts and Tank Tops. Since I pulled in before our resident Engineer he unlocked the shop so I didn’t have to wait outside.

The first thing I did was to finish assembling the TIG Torch Cooler on the Welding Machine then to make certain Coolant flowed through the Torch itself. Once that was finished I again offered my services where they were needed. I spent the next Two Hours cutting more Materials on the Saw. Then I was teamed up with another person wrapping Painted Parts to be shipped to the other plant to be assembled.

When I spoke with Kathy at Lunch Break she told me she had an appointment on the east end of Windsor around the time I would arrive Home. So I said that I would go exercise until she returned.

Finally after lunch I was notified that Aluminium Projects Three and Four would be sent to my Workbench very shortly. There was only One Big Problem. While I was working on the other side of the plant someone had taken the opportunity to fill my area with Skids filled with Pieces for other Jobs.

When the Pieces for my Projects started to arrive I immediately began fine tuning them. For a company that prides itself on producing high quality parts I just wish they could get their Hole Sizes correct. By the end of the shift I was already starting to tack some of the Frame together.
When I arrived at the Park I took care of some business at the Office before going Home. Once I’d emptied my Lunch Bag I walked over to the Park Exercise Room. Getting on the Scale showed that my weight was still the same so I might be at a plateau before I start loosing more. Having already lost Twenty-One Pounds since starting this job I find that I have more energy.

When I finally got Home Kathy was there and she wasn’t happy. She was detoured Twice by the Police investigating Accidents. Since she does not know Windsor like I do so she ended up missing her appointment. We were able to reschedule it for after I get off work on Wednesday.
By using a Pizza Stone and Pizza Pan without holes we
enjoy a nicely toasted Pizza in Twenty-Five Minutes.
We grilled a 10 Inch Store Bought Thin Crust Chicken with Spinach Pizza for supper. The Smaller Size and Thin Crust helps reduce the number of Carbs we take in so we don’t feel stuffed.
With all the Rain we've gotten the grass is really growing.
Kathy’s got more Doctor’s Appointments for tomorrow and I’ll let you know how Work goes. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Spinning Our Wheels, Short Family Visit and A Real Shocker.

Our Location today is at Wildwood Golf and RV Park, McGregor, Ontario.

With our time here at the Park growing shorter we spent a little extra time getting other things accomplished this morning along with doing more research. Then it happened Kathy got an Alert that exactly what we were looking for had become available only Thirteen Minutes before. With address in hand we were soon headed back to the west side of Windsor.

We know what to watch for so we don’t get scammed but when you knock on the door and the Homeowner had no idea of what we were talking about. Someone out there was posting a Scam.
Since it was nearly lunchtime we stopped at Wendy’s for a nature call as well as lunch. Also because the Drizzle was keeping the temperature below the Sixty Degree Mark we decided to have their Free Seniors Coffees to shake the chill out.

We drove around looking at places that we knew should have been open but due to the weather their doors remained closed. Due to our spending more time out of town since we went Fulltime we were surprised how many of the streets had changed in their appearances. Many with Round-Abouts.
Since we had managed to wander into Tecumseh itself we briefly stopped at our daughter Karen’s house only to find out that she was in Toronto promoting the University of Windsor at an Education Fair. Greg was gone for groceries, Kylla was getting ready to go to her second job and Tyler was just relaxing on his day off. Sanford immediately brought us the last Toy that we gave him to show that he is taking care of it. He does know that when he does that Kathy rewards him with a treat.
Before heading back Home we stopped at the Zehrs grocery store to restock our food supplies then to the Pioneer gas station to fill up the Car.
As soon as we arrived Home we put all the groceries away before went outside to I empty our Waste Tanks. Kathy busied herself making us a Garden Salad and warming up Chicken Strips for our supper. It was tasty and more then enough since we’ve been cutting back on our intake.

When Kathy headed back to her computer I emptied our Trash Containers before heading over to the Park Laundry Room. We’ve so busy this weekend that I didn’t get the chance to wash my Coveralls and they were filthy. Even though I’ve been doing our Laundry for the last Eight Years Kathy explained to me how to get the Grime out of the material without ruining the Coveralls.

With some kind of celebration going on at the Clubhouse I couldn’t use the Exercise Room so while the Coveralls were in the Washer I went to the Park Trash and Recycle Area to dispose of our Trash.

When the wash cycle was finished the Coveralls were slightly cleaner but still dirty. Kathy had said that could happen and to simply repeat the procedure. Half filling the Washer with water then add a Half Cap of Detergent and a Quarter Cap of Clorox Bleach for Colours. Mix it with your hand in the water then add the Coveralls.

I sat there the entire time waiting for the washer to stop. Imagine my surprise when both pair of Coveralls were no longer Blue but Pink. Even Kathy was shocked when she saw what happen. Needless to say the Company in Alberta that I purchased them through received a very detailed E-Mail about what happened. We are hoping there is some way to dye them another darker colour.

Tomorrow is the last day of September and I’m back at Work so we’ll see how that goes. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Wet Night, Disappointing Day, Quick Visit and More Research.

If you recall it started raining shortly after I got Home from Work yesterday and was still coming down when we closed up for the night. Now guess what we could hear all night and what we woke up to. Kathy had been worried that we’d need to add Pontoons to the Trailer so we would float instead of sinking. It was difficult for the Camera to focus on anything beyond the Raindrops on our Window but the Farmers Field was once again trying to form another Great Lake. When I checked the Rain Gauge we had gotten above One and a Quarter Inches of Rain overnight.

It was a mistake having a Lite Breakfast before nearly running out the door. The first place we stopped was Guardian Storage in Windsor to find no Mail waiting for us to pick up. We headed to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit where we added our old CPAP Machines to the mix. We’ll definitely be doing a major clean up next Spring.

We then needed to go to Motor City Community Credit Union to get some Laundry Money. Thinking we had plenty of time I was surprised to find the door locked because they don’t open until 9:30 on Saturday mornings. Luckily I was one of the first in the door so we were soon on our way.
We barely arrived on time for our 10:00 appointment which left us very disappointed over the condition of the Units and shocked at the high asking price. We were told of other places to try that were not found On-Line only to have the same kind of luck.
We had thought that this kind of thing would happen so we came prepared by bringing my Laptop along. We stopped at a Wendy’s and ordered our usual meal off their Value Menu and proceeded to do more research while we ate an early lunch. Luckily we had brought our Raincoats with us and even though the Rain seemed to be missing us they were no match at keeping us warm inside the Wendy’s because their Air Conditioner was keeping everything cold. With a fresh list of places to go we were soon headed back in the same direction as we had just come from which is something we always try to avoid.

After many more disappointing stops we called ahead and got a positive answer. We were on our way to Essex to visit our daughter-in-law Jen and the kids. We haven’t seen them since Haigans Birthday back in late June. We heard about all the exiting things they were able to do as a family this past summer and what they have planned for this Fall. Connor was away with the Cadets for a Weekend Trip and that Haigan had also joined. Emma is doing good in College and just advanced to the finals in a local Singing Contest. Jen didn’t realize that I was back to work and that Kathy was having so many Medical Procedures done.

We were Home around 5:00 and after getting my Computer set up again Kathy made Perogies with Sour Cream, Real Bacon Bits and Shredded Cheese along with a Yogurt Cup for dessert. They were tasty by quite filling. No snacks needed tonight.

While I did up the Dishes Kathy was back On-Line doing more research. Hopefully we’ll have this resolved before it’s time to leave the Park at the end of next month. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

A Real Cutup, Kathy’s New Cardiologist and Rain Changes Plans For Supper.

Our Location today is at Wildwood Golf and RV Park, McGregor, Ontario.

Fall was definitely in the air this morning with the night time low of 45 F (7 C) along with a cool northerly breeze I needed to wear a sweater on my way to Work until the Truck warmed up.

Since there was nothing I could do in my area this morning I immediately notified the Supervisor that he could reassign me. It just happened that he needed Materials cut to go with parts that have already been produced. What I didn’t like was that the Printout lists the Materials needed in Standard Size but then lists the length in Metric. Thank goodness for Standard/Metric Tape Measures that made it easier to set up a Stop Gauge on the Saw.

Kathy had an appointment with her new Cardiologist this morning at the Windsor Heart Institute. Since Kathy was born with a Congenital Heart Defect anyone handling her case takes great interest in it. Dr. Singh read Kathy’s file asking her to explain a few things while realizing he had someone before him with a One in Two Million Heart. (It’s a Kind Heart.) The Doctor spent nearly Two Hours talking with Kathy and ended up causing a backlog in the waiting room.

Kathy stopped at Burger King where she got a Ten Piece Chicken Nugget and Free Seniors Soft Drink for a very late lunch.

I was finishing the last of the 192 Pieces when a Purolator Delivery Van stopped up front. Knowing that I wanted to get my TIG Welder fixed ASAP the Supervisor immediately brought the delivery to me. It was the New Pump for my Cooling Unit.

Since there was still a Half Hour before the end of the shift I started trying to install it. I had to remove the Reservoir so the Cooling Unit could be laid on its side. In that position everything went together without any problems. By not putting the Side Panels in place I turned it on getting a stream of coolant that most would appreciate when taking a shower. It was past quitting time before I got my tools put away.
Before heading Home I needed to go to the Pioneer gas station to top off the Truck with Diesel. When I did finally get Home Kathy was telling me about her day when it started to Rain. That meant we wouldn’t be grilling anything for supper tonight so Kathy cleaned up the last of the Strawberries and made her version of Belgium Pancakes. They were not only visibly appealing but tasty as well.

We had Thunder and Lightning for a while which knocked out the Park Internet System for a while. Tomorrow we have some shopping to take care of. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Getting Things Done At Work and A Wonderful Visit With Family.

Our Location today is at Wildwood Golf and RV Park, McGregor, Ontario.

Things didn’t quite go as planned at Work today. When they ordered the new Pump for the TIG Welding Machine Cooler the other day the Supplier told them he’d have it in a day. This morning that timeline changed to Four Days in other words next week. So I offered my services on other jobs again.

The first job was fixing an Oops that someone did by mounting locators on the wrong end of a pan. Then there was another job that would take the next Eight Hours to complete. That meant that I stayed over an Hour past the end of the shift to get it to the Painters so that it can be shipped in the morning.
Where Kathy had lunch today.
Kathy had been busy running errands most of the day but had the Water Heater turned on so I could immediately take a shower when I got Home because we were having supper out. Even though we sat in our Car outside the 19th Hole Restaurant we had a chance to discuss what we had both been up to today.
19TH Hole Restaurant
Then just before 6:00 a familiar looking pickup pulled up next to us. It was our son Kevin and daughter-in-law Melissa. Melissa had suggested getting together at the Restaurant as a change from us always going to their house in Amherstburg. We all enjoyed our meals but we also used the time for getting caught up since we missed our visit last week.
Perch with Onion Rings and Coleslaw.
Shortly before 7:00 we headed back to our Home where the conversation continued. Kevin and Melissa were also discussing ideas of things they will look for when they decide to upgrade their Travel Trailer as their present one has no Slides. I also demonstrated how the LED Security Lights work compared to the standard ones most RVs have. As always we had lots of laughs and really enjoyed our visit with them.

With more Doctors Appointments tomorrow it looks like Kathy will have another busy day. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

More Repairs, Doctor’s Appointments and A Casual Walk.

Our Location today is at Wildwood Golf and RV Park, McGregor, Ontario.

Getting to Work early helps me get relaxed. I sip my morning Coffee as well as looking around to see what I can start working on before anyone tells me to. I had made certain when I worked on the Cooler yesterday that everything was clean and dry at the end of the shift. This morning I noticed Water on the floor by my Workbench right below where the TIG Torch was hanging. This is the same Torch that was on the Welding Machine the day I started and it had been wrapped with an Insulated Cover that was taped in place.

When I checked the Cover was soaking Wet so I started cutting the Tape off. What I found were Three Bare Spots where there was no insulation around the Conductor Cable. It was those Bare Spots that was causing the other Welder and myself to be jolted not the Pump.

How a TIG Torch works is the Conductor Cable is inside a Liquid Cooled Hose. The Liquid is then returned by another smaller Hose to the Cooler. A Third Hose carries the Inert Gas that shields the weld. It was strange seeing the Owner on the shop floor right at 7:00 this morning. When I showed him the problem he suggested I try to repair it because a Torch like that was worth nearly a Thousand Dollars. Luckily someone had salvage just such a Conductor Cable so I was able to swap it out.

The Second Aluminium Project was finally shipped out Twelve Days after it was completed. I finished today modifying another Welding Jig and as well as the Hydraulic Frame Cart.

Kathy had an appointment with our Family Doctor this morning. He noticed an improvement in her Rosacea since changing her medication. He was also happy to see her hand was doing much better. Kathy then stopped at Wendy’s for lunch off the Value Menu.
Every year around this time those shrubs change colour.
It felt good getting Home before 4:00 especially since I didn’t get a chance to talk to Kathy at lunchtime. She needed a Prescription filled but had to come Home after getting the Mail at Guardian Storage because she was expecting a call.
We headed off to Pharma Choice in Amherstburg and only had to wait a few minutes for them to have the Prescription filled.
We stopped at Subway where we shared a Turkey Sub for supper. By having it cut in half before they start we are both able to have the vegetables we like.
We walked around the Dollarama for a while picking up a few things that we needed. It was mostly to walk off a bit of supper and for me to see more then the Workplace.
Like the light coloured treetops.
Tomorrow Kathy has more appointments so we’ll see how they go. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
