Switched Over and Thunder.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Unlike yesterday, we did not have the alarm set to wake us up, but we were both awake and ready to start the day, minutes after 8:00 this morning.

Our breakfast was different by the fact that we had the last of the Peaches that Kathy cleaned the other day, along with a Yogurt Cup at the table before enjoying our Coffees at our Computers. We even had the chance to do most of our E-reading before scrambling to start our days separately.

I actually made a handwritten List of places to go with things to do. Kathy followed me out to the Car, thinking we were going for a ride. My task was to empty the back cargo area in order to get it cleaned today. We have been using Reusable Shopping Bags long before the plastic ones were banned. We were using them in Florida and Arizona while having people ask why we were doing so. The only problem was that we eventually had Shopping Bags we carried in the Truck and the same in the Car. When they finally banned the plastic bags completely, all the different Grocery Stores, Drug Stores, Walmart and places like Dollarama started printing their own. Many gave freely through Covid. When I stopped working the Bags from the Truck were moved to the Car. Besides our battery powered Shop-Vac, our Folding Two-Wheeled Shopping-Cart was completely filled with Reusable Shopping Bags. It was brought upstairs so they can again be divided between the two vehicles. Now, if we can just remember to bring them with us, we won’t have to buy anymore.

We then sat by the front entrance waiting for our granddaughter Kylla’s arrival. She was slightly delayed by her new Kitty, avoided her attempts to put her in her Carrier, until she can be better trusted not to destroy her apartment.

Once they were gone, I headed straight to Windsor Gas and Diesel. After Jim finished dealing with one customer, he immediately brought out the package I had delivered to him. He explained the pros and the cons about the product but guaranteed me it would work. It is set up using the Negative side of the Battery and since there is no Solenoid on our Car, it was the best way to wire it in. He worked for an Hour getting it install where it cannot be seen. I tested it at only Two Hundred Feet away because the street was too busy with Semis. The biggest Con to this Switch is I have to reset the car’s Clock and Radio each time it is used, but it will stop the car from driving off.

Jim gave me the business cards to the local Oil Guard business, so I headed straight to its location. I thought it strange that there was only a single car in the lot when I arrived, but the sign on the door said it all. By Appointment Only, No Walk-In Business. Closed on Friday and Sunday. Guess I’ll be calling tomorrow.

With more errands to go, I stopped at Popeye’s for a sandwich to go.

Next, I went to the Credit Union to get a little Cash for special reasons. As I was about to leave Kathy and Kylla called to say they were home, so instead of doing my last errand, I asked Kathy if she wanted to join me.

When I picked her up at the Bench we had sat on this morning, she was all smiles. Kylla said they had fun.

Our last errand was the Car Wash. Kathy moved from one window to the next as it made its way through. Amazing how much better your Car looks when you add to the Tip Jar by the Cashier.

We were just pulling away, when Kathy said she was hungry, that she had not eaten all day. First, we had breakfast and Kylla always feeds Kathy, so we stopped at McDonald’s for Fish Fillet Sandwiches before heading for home.

After watching the “6 o’clock Local News”, I made a Banana Split for a late dessert, that made Kathy smile.

The channel that we had planned to watch until 9:00, kept losing the Audio every couple of minutes, so we switched over to the History Channel. It just happened they were talking about UFOs and Diseases from Outer Space. I had to shut the television at 11:00 otherwise Kathy would still be up.

The Thunder is quite loud at the moment. I can only hope to get this published before we lose power.

The Fact That.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

The fact that I finished writing the Blog just before Midnight. The fact that I took a shower and shaved before going to Bed. The fact that taking a shower before going to Bed invigorates me so I have a hard time to sleep. The fact that the alarm was set for 8:00 this morning, all added up to my anchor dragging most of the day.

We had Breakfast Juice to wash down our morning Medications before heading out the door. Figuring that it was easier and quicker to stop at Wendy’s for a Bacon Wrap and Senior’s Coffee was the best bet.

We took our time and still managed to meet Mark our Financial Advisor at the Bank with minutes to spare for our appointment. He was able to straighten a few things that seemed to be going south, saving us headaches and money. He even showed us a video of his daughter now who is now driving. We remember when she was born. That’s things that friends share.

Before heading home we swung by Zehr’s grocery store, to pick up a few items that we had forgotten to get the last couple of times we went shopping. Being retired means it is easy to go for another ride just to get out of the Apartment.

There was enough to bring upstairs that using our Folding Two-Wheeled Shopping Cart was a necessary chore. Having to use my Left Hand to guide it along was a challenge because it was not my dominant hand. The longer I wait for the Surgery Date, the weaker my arm seems to be getting.

Our breakfast held us over until supper just before the “6 o’clock Local News” when we had Perogies with Bacon Chips, Onions, Sour Cream and Shredded Mozzarella Cheese as condiments.

The Weather Guesser showed we can expect a Rainy Weekend. That’s when our daughter works most on her gardens and lawns. More late nights keeping thing spotless coming her way.

We watched a couple episodes of “Law and Order, Special Victims Unit”.

The fact that, with another busy day coming tomorrow, Kathy has already gone to Bed.

Wanna Be Amazon Scammer.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I managed to spend another entire night in Bed, the only thing was, it was not all sleeping. Since using a New Pillow, my Neck has not bothered me, but last night, the Pain in my Shoulder would not ease up, forcing me to take another Extra Strength Tylenol to be able to sleep.

Like yesterday, I had everything ready for breakfast but waited just a bit longer to wake Kathy. The Sunlight streaming in the Bedroom Blinds did not wake her, the clinking of the Dishes did not do it, nor did pulling the Bedding down exposing her to the cool air. I had to pull out all the stops and Kiss her repeatedly. Actually, she woke up on the first Kiss but was enjoying the Love that came with the rest.

Once we moved from the table to our Computers, a number of things happened. I received an Amazon Wanna-Be Scammer call. I let her go all the way until she asked for my Credit Card Information, when I said “I’ll call you back”. I know that Amazon would never call if they suspected someone of trying to buy an I-Phone on my dime. They would simply pause the order, until I would call inquiring about it. I still called to let them know about the SCAM.

Next, I received an appointment verification, along with a request to meet at a different location. Mark our Financial Advisor has done this before, besides we won’t talk to anyone else.

With another night of missed Rain, rescheduled for later today, we thought it would be wise to run some errands early.

Our first stop was at Wendy’s where we had Chicken Nuggets for lunch. We expressed our condolences to Paula on the loss of her mother. She was glad she was no longer fighting the Pain of her Cancer.

Though it was only 75 F (24 C), if you stayed out in the direct Sunlight, it felt like you were being cooked on a rotisserie. That is the same feeling we had during the Winters that we spent in Quartzsite.

We picked up a pile of Mail at Guardian Storage. Looks like Mark is going to have more explaining to do.

Finally, we stopped at the Dollarama, closest to our home, just in case, my Surgery Date is moved up, we started stocking up on some essentials.

Since it was so cold in our Apartment, when we got up this morning, we shut it off and forgot to turn it back on before leaving. By the time we had everything upstairs, we had worked up quite a sweat,

Strangely, nobody called to see how we were doing today, so we got to watch the “National News” and the “6 o’clock Local News” without interruption. Later we watched a show that neither of us had seen before “Runaway Bride”, starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

We’ll let you know about tomorrow.

Working As A Team Again.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

That was a switch. I managed to join Kathy in Bed before 11:00 last night and after holding hands for over Thirty Minutes, we both rolled over into a night of sleep filled bliss. Remember my wishing to be able to sleep entire nights in Bed? That was Three in a Row.

I was up minutes past 8:00 this morning that gave me the chance to clean up the few dishes that had been left behind, then get ready for a quick breakfast serve. It was surprising to see how the Rain forecasted for our area, once again skirted by us to visit the State of Ohio.

When the clock struck 9:00 I placed the Breakfast Juice Glasses in the Glass Trivets on the table before putting our Coffee Mugs on the Petrified Rock Trivets by our Computers. By the time I brought out our breakfast snack, Kathy was already sitting at the Table because she heard the Clicking sounds. With another day of no appointments, I suggested taking care of Chores.

Even though I had an early start, my get up and go, seemed to have suddenly gotten up and disappeared. I set up to sort our laundry while Kathy stripped down the Bed, not only for the purpose of cleaning the linens but to keep us from crawling back for just a few more Zzzzs.

Because of the delay in getting ready, I chose for modify a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza to share for lunch. Since you only see a picture on the outside of the box at the store, once you open it at home, it is most times a lot different. Having just sliced up a Pineapple this weekend and keeping extra Shredded Mozzarella Cheese in the Fridge, made for a quick fix.

Kathy wanted to help considering, she may need to do this while my Shoulder heals after the Surgery. This allowed me to coach her considering these machines are highly automated compared to the ones found in most Laundromats. The moment we walked into the Second Floor Laundry Room, we knew this was going to take longer than normal. On top of the Folding Table was the Door to one of these Modern Washing Machines. This has become a normal habit calling the Washing Supplier, to report the problem. Those doors are not designed for someone to lean on, because they are mostly made of Plastic.

We worked together as a team folding one load at a time before packing into our Hamper to go back upstairs. From the First Load to the Last Kathy kept looking for a single white sock. I had to stand on my toes to see it hiding along the front edge of the Dryer it was first put in. We would eventually have everything folded and upstairs by 4:00.

A quick rest and we worked together making the Bed before I started making supper. Using more of the Leftover Stir-Fry from Sunday, we enjoyed Bacon/Veggie Wraps, with a bowl of Cantaloupe topped off with a scoop of Strawberry Ice Cream for dessert.

The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” verified we could possibly see Rain through the early morning hours tomorrow.

We also watched a Movie before sitting at the table talking for nearly an Hour. It was a fun day.
