Lots Of Surprises.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It was another back-and-forth night, but I spent more than double my time in Bed than tipped back in my Recliner. I woke numerous times throughout the night, and the cause was the Pain in my Shoulders. That’s right, not one but both Shoulders. This is worse than rebuilding an old car.

After taking our morning Medication/Vitamins, we headed out fairly quick because Kathy’s Rheumatologist likes to monitor her Liver functions, due to the Medications she has to take. Imagine our Surprise when the Technician at Dyna-Care said we needed another Form, because her’s had expired. A Simple fix was to call the Office to have them FAX another one over. Another Surprise was the recording that said they were away on Vacation for Two Weeks. If he wants to complain because the Test was not done, I’ll personally straighten that mess up.

We were getting hungry, so we stopped at McDonald’s where we each had a Bacon McMuffin and Decafinated Coffee for a late breakfast.

With the heavy Cloud Coverage and the occasional Water Droplet on the windshield, we simply decided to head for home.

After parking, as we walked towards the rear entrance, I noticed the outside Recycle Bins had been emptied. The moment we got in the Apartment, I headed back down to empty our Recycle Containers. Unlike yesterday, the Clouds did remain, but there was no Rain.

We spent most of the afternoon on our Computers, only thinking to eat after 5:00. We shared some Macaroni and Cheese for supper, then waited until the “6 o’clock Local News” was finished before having a small dish of Strawberry Frozen Yogurt for dessert.

We were watching another discovery program on the History Channel, when our friend Wayne from Washington State surprised us with a call. I know the phone rings both ways, but I have become a hermit lately. They’ve made changes to their camping style but are still going to Quartzsite in the winters. They are also dealing with Medical Problems of their own. We talked for over Thirty Minutes, before Sue mentioned to Wayne that it was supper time. Thanks Wayne, the next call will be on me.

I was just starting to write the Blog when Kathy sat down to dry her hair and talk. I have always loved to talk with her just not when I am writing, because then I draw a blank. Hopefully I’ll be holding her hand soon.

Not sure what tomorrow will hold, but it will not include sitting inside all day.

Sleepless Struggle and Staying Dry.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I probably wore a path between my Recliner and Bed last night. It did not matter what I did to try to sleep, it was total exhaustion that finally did the trick.

We started the day with our breakfast snack then moved to our Computers. There was plenty to see from the Daily and Weekly Bloggers we follow along with changes in the Weather heading our way. We might be seeing more summer like temperatures for a few days this week, but it is Summer, isn’t it?

Still working at cleaning out the Fridge before refilling it, we enjoyed another Homemade Salad for lunch, with Peppers, Onions. Cherry Tomatoes, Olives, Shredded Feta Cheese and Ranch Dressing.

We had to wait just long enough for it to settle down, before heading out. The Cloud covered sky did little to inspire us, but the Southwest Wind Gusts coming between our building and the next nearly knocked us over.

Our first stop was the nearby Dollarama, where we picked up more Juice, 7-Up and a few snacks.

By the time we got back to the Car, the sky was turning Black, so Kathy simply said “Home”. By the time I parked the Car in its assigned spot, there were wet spots starting on the Windshield. We each carried a shopping bag and made it inside nice and dry. As soon as we walked into the Apartment, the view out the Balcony Door was of very wet pavement.

Once everything was put away, I checked our Appointment Book to find nothing written in for tomorrow. We discussed combining appointments with a workday. That could boost our Bank Account and clean out things in our Storage Unit. It could mean that we’ll be having more than one meal out, or we might just finish our grocery shopping.

We shared the last of our Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Chicken Pizzas for supper tonight with extra Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, which also left an empty spot in the Freezer. Something else to fill up while out shopping.

We watched a few different Unbelievable stories on the History Channel just before Kathy headed off to Bed. With any luck, I’ll be joining her soon.

Step Back and Unbelievable.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Last night, I thought for certain that by actually getting to Bed minutes before Kathy did, I was going to have a better night’s sleep. Longtime readers might remember me trying the same thing a few years back, when I had returned to the workforce. It did not work then, nor did it work last night, instead I spent more time trying to sleep rather than actually doing it. At 3:30, I took an Extra Strength Tylenol just like the night before and it barely worked. I spent another Hour sleeping in my Recliner. As we were having breakfast, there in the center of the table was the bottle of ZzzQuil that I was so tired, that I failed to take it.

We accomplished a number of things so we could be ready for grocery shopping, with the first thing being, using up food in the Fridge. We shared a Bacon/Veggie Omelette that made plenty of space for anything we would replace it with.

Thinking we would get our Mail early this afternoon, I made the mistake of staying on my Computer past 2:30. By the time we would have reached Guardian Storage, they would have closed at 3:00, so we headed to Walmart. I have noted that sometimes this saves us money, while other times the grocery store does and they are across the street from one another. Being Saturday, it was packed with people trying to get School Supplies and Clothes for the coming semester, but also people (like us) just trying to get food to take home. Thankfully, I had checked the Fridge and Freezer before heading out, so there was no excess buying going on. We even found a few things of higher prices than the grocery store, so they were left for someone else to purchase.

Though we had brought Walmart Reusable Shopping Bags in to use, the Humidex outside was 88 F (31 C), Kathy waited inside while I retrieved a couple of Insulated Shopping Bags from the Car. It was as easy as putting the Walmart Bags straight inside and everything was still frozen when we got home. I’m still trying to find a way to store a full-sized Watermelon in the Fridge. Guess I’ll be cutting it up tomorrow.

It was close to 7:00, when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Chicken Pizza with added Mushrooms and Shredded Mozzarella Cheese for supper. More fridge cleaning accomplished.

We later watched a few episodes of “The Unbelievable with Dan Aykroyd”, and they are right, it is Unbelievable, but true.

We’ll be out and about again tomorrow.

Former Co-Worker.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

This is really starting to sound like a rerun, when I finally start sleeping in Bed like most normal humans do, then suddenly find myself struggling to sleep. The worst part was that I was struggling to keep my eyes open, long enough to publish last night’s Blog. After not using any kind of Sleep-Aide for over a Week, by 3:30 in the morning I had no choice. Of course, when there is an action, there is also a reaction. Even though I managed to assemble a breakfast snack to start our day, I appeared to be looking through closed eye lids.

Fortunately, looking at the time, had us both scrambling to get up and get out. We had a follow up appointment to take the place of the one on Monday that Sid cancelled. We were on time, but he was still tied up with other clients. Nick a former Co-worker from my days back in the Casting Plant noticed us sitting there and came over to say Hello. He mentioned others that were also dealing with Joint Replacements. Sounded like common problem for those of us that had been exposed to Hot and Cold Temperatures within minutes of the other.

When Sid did call us in, he still had to print out all the paperwork. By the time he finished explaining what everything was about and their legal meaning, then having Kathy sign, she was getting Writers Cramp.

Knowing that our Government Cheques were in today, we stopped at the Credit Union. Kathy did not feel like standing in line waiting, so she stayed in the Car while I took care of business. Imagine my surprise when I walked in, straight to the Teller and was out in Three Minutes. Even Kathy could not believe I was done.

Instead of driving back and forth, we stopped at Arby’s to have something different for lunch. I have learned to watch the advertised bargains the different Fast Food Outlets have as a means of keeping our costs down. We also included some People Watching to our stop as a way of resting. When the lunchtime rush started filling the place in, we knew it was time to leave.

Next we stopped at the Bank to spread our eggs between the baskets. After finding out why our Chequing Account kept depleting so quickly, I took Mark, our Financial Advisor’s advice to fix it.

Kathy just wanted to go home, so while I was trying to see if other things could work as well as the Bank, it did not. Kathy and I had spoke about this before, so when I told the agent on the phone to Cancel and Close the account, she believed that I could not speak on Kathy’s behalf. Imagine her surprise when Kathy also said to Cancel it.

Kathy had also been busy, going through the File Cabinet and building a pile of outdated files on the table. I spent nearly an Hour keeping our Cross-Shredder very busy. Kathy has more files to go through, but the drawers are already closing easier.

I was in the process of cooking supper, when our daughter Karen called to see how we were doing. We were enjoying our Penne with Tomato/Meat Sauce when the “6 o’clock Local News” came on. It looks like we’ll enjoy the Weather over the weekend but dislike the start of September.

We watched another episode of “UFOs” on the History Channel. Kathy is doing some E-reading next to me as I write this Blog. I am hoping to go to sleep at the same time that she does.

Looks like we’ll be doing some grocery shopping tomorrow.
