Happy Anniversary, Construction, Graffiti Art, Shopping and Happy Canada Day.

We were both up within minutes after 8:00 this morning having slept like a couple of rocks through the night. Unlike this morning Nineteen Years ago we woke up apart and Kathy was about to have a whirlwind of activity that would fill her morning. I had a calmer time just getting cleaned, dressed and on my way. Later in the early afternoon we committed ourselves to one another when we said “I Do”. We had both made those same promises to others in the past but the reality of life ended that in heartbreak as they were laid to rest. Along the road to recovery it was like powers outside of our realm brought us together. It only seems like the other day and we are hoping for many more.

The sky was clear but the Humidex was already in the mid 80s. After breakfast and that first cup of Coffee at the Computers I was headed to the Shower. If I’d showered last night I would have tossed and turned rather then slept.

As I came out of the washroom I could hear Kathy speaking on the phone and just by the way she was talking I knew that she was speaking to our dear friend Vera. By the time I returned to my Computer the call had ended but Kathy passed along Vera’s wish of a Happy Anniversary.

My sister Anna had also sent us a Happy Anniversary Wish On-Line. Thank You Anna.
Within minutes we were on our way out the door. The clock on the dash read 11:50 as we made our way onto the street. With the location of where we live there are Two ways to get to our Optometrist’s Office. One would have been to take the scenic route along Riverside Drive. Since there was only a Half Hour to get to our appointment I chose the Expressway.

Since we haven’t been rushing around Windsor lately it wasn’t until we got on E.C. Rowe that we found out it was being resurfaced. For the first mile it took Ten Minutes and I wanted Kathy to call saying we would be late. As soon as we passed the Central Overpass it was “Full Speed Ahead”. We walked in wearing our Masks with minutes to spare.
The Local Health Unit last week has made wearing a Mask mandatory in all Offices, Businesses and Stores within its jurisdiction. Anyone caught not complying with said order is subject to a hefty Fine and or Incarceration.

We both passed our examinations with flying colours. Since I have been dealing with David for Thirty One Years and he knows we like to travel he was giving us more information about the Virus and some of the Miracle Cures that are being touted. His advice is to let the Medical Professionals do their jobs and ignore what the Politicians are saying.

It was past 1:00 and we were feeling hungry so we stopped at Wendy’s for our Anniversary Lunch of Chicken Wraps, Small Chocolate Frosties and Seniors Sodas. We enjoyed our meal in the parking lot while watching a long line of others wanting something to eat.

From there we headed over to Guardian Storage to collect our Mail before heading on.

We just turned on to Jefferson Avenue when the Train Guards came down. For the next Ten Minutes we saw a number of different styles of Graffiti pass by. Some were actually quite nice showing the talent of the Artists. Others showed they had been interrupted and the task was left unfinished. Kathy suggested they should allow them to paint those otherwise bland looking Railcars which would probably stop a lot of other vandalism.
Noticing our Gas Gauge going down and Fuel Prices going up we had no choice but to stop at the Pioneer gas station and topped up the Car with Gasoline.
This one had sense of Humor.
One of the big problems since the start of the Coronavirus Shutdown is that the Restaurants and Fastfood establishments have only served Takeout Food and shut their doors to everything else. Since we weren’t near our Trailer we had to head back to the Apartment for a Pit Stop that we both took advantage of. It also gave us the chance to gather some things to bring with us.
Some of those things caused us to stop at the Shoppers Drug Mart we purchased our Vitamins at on Thursday. Anyone that uses Iron Supplements knows what happens if the concentration is too high. Explaining my plight to the Head Pharmacist he gladly made the exchange to the lower concentration for me. With all the extra Seals on the Containers it was quite evident that they had not been tampered with.
Our next stop was Home Depot where I had a few things to return. One of those was the Miracle Grow that we got on Saturday for the Plants. I hadn’t seen the Fine Print on the container that said “For Roses Only”. Kathy’s flowers would have stopped blooming rather quickly. Once that was refunded I found the proper plant food and was out in minutes.
We stopped at Dollarama where we again purchased some groceries at a lower cost then at the grocery store.
We finally made it to Zehr’s grocery store where we managed to get everything else on our List. When we walked in there was no one waiting outside. By the time we planned to pay for our purchases there were at least Fifty People ahead of us in line to the Cashiers. It took less then Twenty Minutes and were were loading our groceries in the Car.
Back at the Apartment we used a large Shopping Cart to get everything upstairs. Then it took Twenty Minutes to get it all put away. Supper was a Medium Thin Crust Store Bought Pizza that took Fifteen Minutes in the oven to cook perfectly.

The 6 o’clock Local News talked about the Virus Numbers starting to go down in our area before talking about the HOT Temperatures we can expect for the next week.

Kathy and I would like to wish our Canadian Followers a Happy Canada Day tomorrow. Like everything else this will truly be different this year. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Calls, Computers, Exercise and “The DaVinci Code”.

As soon as the 11 o’clock Local News ended Kathy headed to bed while I was minutes away from publishing our Blog before midnight. My mission was accomplished and all I had to do was shut Myyy Cooompuuutooor. My eyes opened to see the time was past 1:00 in the morning. Surely that should not happen when your mind is being kept active. Minutes later I was in bed and didn’t wake until 7:30. I barely had time to get things ready for breakfast when Kathy joined me for breakfast. Remember what I have said about waking earlier with less sleep.
This past Friday I left a message with the Jayco Representative knowing that he would return my call when he returned to work on Monday. At 9:20 my power of deduction proved to be accurate. After comparing notes we now have a Date for our Trailer to be returned to the Factory Repair Center in Indiana.

Immediately after that call ended two more were made. One netted Kathy an upcoming visit from Mary the nurse from Healthy Heals to take care of Kathy’s Feet. The other only got us a message that basically said we have to wait a while longer for Haircuts.
I was late getting my morning chores finished so Kathy made us Thin Sliced Beef on a Bun from Lou’s Kitchen for our lunch and a mixed dessert plate. Everything tasted delicious and was quite satisfying.

Sitting back at the Computers to let our lunch settle we received another call reminding us of our appointment for tomorrow. A short while later I managed to exercise for a short while which helped take all the Aches and Pains from my body.

We watched Murder Mystery until it was time to watch the 6 o’clock Local News. The Windsor Chamber of Commerce is saying that it could take to the end of 2023 before the Financial Recovery from the effects of the Coronavirus take effect. On a side note the number of Cases among the area Migrant Farm Workers again doubled overnight.
We didn’t have supper until nearly 7:30. While Kathy made the dessert plates I modified a Caesars Salad by adding Chopped Bacon, Celery, Onion, Pepper and Shredded Cheese. All the above food added a sigh of contentment to our faces.

Neither of us ever saw the movie “The DaVinci Code” starring Tom Hanks. That was quite an interesting story that kept us guessing and would have most people doubting. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Chores Done, Seeds Located, Family Visit, Special Delivery and More Cases.

Once again I managed to get carried away with my early morning Blog reading and didn’t get to bed until nearly 2:00 this morning. I slept like a rock but was awake for the day before 8:00. That’s the part I don’t get. If I get to bed early I sleep late. If I get to bed late I wake up early. After getting things ready for breakfast I had already been on the Computer checking things out before Kathy joined me for breakfast. It was strange that she also got to bed as soon as the 11 o’clock Local News was over last night and she slept past 9:00. It must be contagious.
After getting our morning chores finished early we discussed what we planned to do today before spending the rest of the morning on our Computers. Kathy sent a Facebook Birthday Wish to our daughter-in-law Melissa this morning.
For lunch we had Baked Beans on Toast topped off with a dessert plate.

Kathy busied herself replanting another Plant we were given on Fathers Day. One of the reasons she puts them in larger pots is not so much that they will grow bigger but to put them in Soil. When you get plants most have been started in a Mulch Base and have little in the way of nutrients to thrive on. Soil will give the plants the nutrients they need to continue to flourish.

I forgot to bring the Wrench and Bicycle Pedal in from the Car last night so I went out and retrieved them. While Kathy worked on the Plants I replaced both Folding Pedals on our Tandem Bicycle out on the Balcony.

Kathy was replanting the Christmas Cactus Flower we got last November by the time I finished the Bike and was just getting ready to exercise and found that we didn’t have quite enough Potting Soil to finish the task.

We were just about to make a quick run to take care of that when our daughter Karen called inviting us to visit on their Deck. When we mentioned about our quick errand she asked if we could look for Sunflower Seeds for her.
We headed over to Home Depot where we had gotten the last bag of Potting Soil. It didn’t take long to find that and the Miracle Grow to add as Vitamins for the plants but they said we should have gotten the Seeds at the beginning of the season.
Heading towards Karen’s we stopped at Walmart to check for the Seeds and were told the same thing about getting them at the beginning of the season.
Back on the road again heading towards Karen’s I made a quick turn into Canadian Tire. They always carried Seeds in the past and they had a Garden Center so it was worth a try. I dropped Kathy at the door before parking the Car then meeting her in their Gardening Section. There were tons of Seeds but eventually we found what Karen had asked for.
When we arrived at Karen’s house in Tecumseh we immediately went in the backyard to the Deck. The only one there to greet us was Sanford as Karen was downstairs folding laundry while Greg was in the kitchen getting some Salmon ready to be smoked. Soon we were visiting and talking about work.
Since Greg is Skilled Trades at the Chrysler Mini Van Plant he is back in the Plant and is required to wear a Mask, Safety Glasses and Gloves to protect himself and others from the Coronavirus.

Karen works for the University Of Windsor and is presently working from home. At this point it doesn’t look like she’ll be returning to the University Office anytime this year.

It was a fun visit but we headed for home around 5:00. Kathy reminded me we hadn’t taken anything out of the Freezer for supper. Wanting something different we went to KFC and ordered a couple of Chicken Zingers. They are large sized Chicken Wraps with a little spice to them. Quite tasty we would have them again.

Since they were in the same Shopping Plaza we went to the Tecumseh Dollarama. We found another Flowerpot that we were looking for but surprisingly they didn’t carry Bread at this location.

Our 6 o’clock Local News was again preempted by a Golf Tournament. I thought these were replays but the Caddies were wearing Masks and the Players were alone with the Caddies so this was “Live”.

Shortly before 7:00 Kathy got a Message for Sue saying that she and Jack would meet me downstairs with more Masks that she made for us to keep Safe.

We watched The Good Witch then the 11 o’clock Local News. The total Coronavirus Cases among the Migrant Farm Workers in our area Doubled just today.

Tomorrow we have Calls to make, Errands to run and Chores to do. We’ll see how that works out. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
